Very basic workflow question

I'm completely new to workflows and scripts, and I would like to be able to do the following while I'm using another program: use a hotkey in Alfred to select command+t, select all (to delete the text that will already be in the box that will pop up), paste, command+enter.

So, basically you want CMD+T, CMD+A, CMD+V, CMD+ENTER?

 

You want a Run Script action using AppleScript.
