  1. I tried to use 1Password 8. I really did, but between the plugin breaking sites like Dropbox and the fact that it's no longer well integrated with Alfred I switched back to 1Password 7. I checked this password, and the next morning it was unchecked again. So I checked it again. Waited until it worked. Used it yesterday. And this morning it was unchecked again and not working. Thoughts?
  2. I'm able to use Bing Chat on Safari. I signed up for the beta and then used the steps below to set the user agent for Safari to pretend to be Edge when on bing.com. It seems to work great... how do I set this as my default search engine with Alfred? Do I need workflow, or something else? Is this something Alfred would have to allow? Steps from ChatGPT to change user agent for bing.com: To set Safari to pretend to be Microsoft Edge on certain sites, you can follow these steps: Open Safari and navigate to the website you want to pretend to be using Microsoft Edge on. Click on the "Safari" menu in the top-left corner of the screen. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu. Click on the "Advanced" tab. Check the box next to "Show Develop menu in menu bar". Close the Preferences window. Click on the "Develop" menu in the top menu bar. Select "User Agent" from the drop-down menu. In the sub-menu that appears, select "Microsoft Edge - Windows" or "Microsoft Edge - Mac" depending on your preference. Reload the website, and Safari will now pretend to be using Microsoft Edge. Latest user agent for Edge Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/112.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/112.0.1722.64
  3. OMG I have no idea what's going on. I just installed this workflow 3 times and it finally gave me the option to open the terminal... and I typed yes and then the URL from my email and then my email and ti said it should work but when I type 1P in alfred I still don't see anything except the actually 1Password app. Is there a video or something that walks through this? Or steps written for non-programmers? I tried to go back to 1Password 7 and that apparently stopped working too.... So frustrating. 1Password suggested I just give up on Alfred and use their quick open, which is an option. I could use that for websites and passwords and go back to spotlight for opening apps and things, but I'm hoping there's some way to merge them together. Alternately, is there a timeframe for it to "just work" in Alfred again? I saw a post saying it's "in development"... if it's soon I'm not going to beat my head against this any more.
  4. For the past couple of weeks I've been trying out Spotlight instead of Alfred. I just switched back to Alfred, but it doesn't suggest safari links for me. I have Safari Bookmarks turned on (and also turned in Chrome Bookmarks just in case) in Alfred prefs. I have lastest 4.3[1205] running on latest MacOS 11.1 on a new M1 Mac Please advise. I was hoping to use Alfred because Spotlight doesn't show 1Passwords...
  5. There are a few folders which I periodically go to: * My Documents Folder * The system Applications folder * My Library Folder * My Desktop * My Google Drive local Sync folder I'd like to use Alfred to quickly open those folders... I don't want to browse them in Alfred, I want to OPEN the folders. I know I can browse with a ~ but that's a pain and not really what I want... ideas?
  6. This Video is a good example of what I was looking for... thanks Dean for sending me to it... I just wanted it at 1.5x speed,...
  7. Thanks Dean! The MailTo isn't quite what I want (I was spoiled back in the day with LaunchBar and I want it to be a system-level preference)... but I'll try it out. It's a matter of retraining my habits. Maybe next version of Alfred will have hooks to put lower level logic in, which would allow a workflow to tackle both of these without needing a preface or separate shortcut key? Vero, in terms of videos. Written guides are DEFINITELY better than videos, but I'm talking about an intro "this is how it works" video, which is a separate beast. It's a fast-forward video that shows a "noob" how a "power user" uses the software. They probably won't apply everything to their own workflows, but for example, I'd love it if someone like Dean just recorded his entire day and then an editor went and cut out 20 things that he did into a 2 minute video so I have an idea of what's possible. Could also be an article, but again I think the words are better for tutorials on "how to do it" where in my experience video tests out better for quickly giving an overview and letting people know what is possible.
  8. I have a few things I'm struggling with in Alfred. Tried Twitter and they suggested I post here: Is there a currency converter like spotlight? USD to Euros for example. Is there a size converter? Lbs to Oz. Feet to meters, etc. Is there a way to make email the default when sending someone? I set it up so if I type "e <person's name>" it emails them but I *so* rarely want to see their contact information that I would rather email be the default and open contact card be the exception. Can Alfred search "pins" in Safari as well as bookmarks. I rarely use bookmarks since they added pins. I want to open the following folders using Alfred: Library, Documents, Applications. I don't want to specifically Scan within those folders, I just want to open them... how do I teach it to do that? Do you have any videos of power-users using the tools? I'm trying to muddle through clipboard for example and would love a very fastforward video that shows cool things happening so I know what's possible.
