  1. Unfortunately i continue to have issue searching in my network shared folder.

Yes i receive issue ONLY on the network results.

I've done as you said (hope it's correct, i've sent a private message, may you please check that?) BUT it not always works, sometime yes, sometime no.

    It's really odd!

Btw i've to leave in general preference panel the options as default ?

  2. I'm struggling to make Alfred search (only) in a network shared folder in Yosemite.

Sometimes Alfred works and sometime no (from client).

The odd is that ONLY Alfred search from client on server (shared folder).

Spotlight on client not search on server.

You've executed this command on server or on client ?

I've tried on client all these commands, with no improvements ...

  3. Hi Vero,

thanks for the reply and support.

Yes, i've done as you said (and re-done).

Unfortunately it not solve the issue.

I'm still astonished: why Alfred usually works properly searching on a network shared folder, while Spotlight no ?

Why now Alfred works so sloooowly and not always .... ?

Any more help, please ? I love your app ...

  4. After last update Alfred takes tons of times to search (and sometimes not search at all and i've to delete some characters to make the search run).

    How can i solve ?

I've cleared application cache, rebuilt os x metadata without success.

I use (see my other posts) Alfred to search on a network shared folder (and i've to admit that spotlight NOT search in that folder) WHILE Alfred (at least in previous build) searches ok in that folder.

  5. I receive this error:

    Fabrizio:~ Fabrizio$ sudo mdutil -E -i on /Volumes/Studio

    Password:

    /Volumes/Studio:

Error: unable to perform operation.  (-403)

    Server search enabled.

Just wonder: WHY Alfred works and Spotlight no ?

If Alfred relies on Spotlight is it strange Spotlight not works, isn't it ?

    I'm confused ...

  6. An update for this old topic.

I'm now on Yosemite (server and client edition).

And have Spotlight that not search on Network shared folder while Alfred yes.

    How is possible ???

Here's the thread of this complain (i report also here my issue):

I've a Mac Mini Server (Yosemite server) where is located the folder: 'Studio'. This folder is shared in the same network.

I've a Client iMac (Yosemite) that access to that folder 'Studio' located on server.

Spotlight on Server is able to search in that folder. Spotlight on Client is NOT able to search in that folder.

    I've run on Client terminal:

    sudo mdutil -E /Volumes/Studio

    And have this error:

    /Volumes/Studio:
    2015-02-14 11:53:22.017 mdutil[4611:159875] mdutil disabling Spotlight: /Volumes/Studio -> kMDConfigSearchLevelOff
Error: unable to perform operation. (-403)
    Server search enabled.

Alfred on iMac clients works ...

    It's really odd, isn't it ?

Alfred not relies on Spotlight ?

How is possible that Alfred works and Spotlight no ???

  7. I've just installed Alfred 2.1.1 and now all my search (i've mavericks and use search in a network shared folder) are totally broken.

Seems a bug cause on multiple iMac after update Alfred is becoming totally unuseful.

The network shared network is connected.

I've tried to clean Application cache and Rebuild OS X Metadata but the issue is still there ...

    Any help, please ?

    Thanks

  8. I'd like to search for my iCal calendar.

In Alfred 1 i've done it as represented in the pic in attach.

Frankly i don't remember how to add com.apple.ica.ics.event

I've added only ICS File but the search not works.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
