Lidarius Posted December 29, 2019 Share Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) I just upgraded to Alfred 4 and installed it then uninstalled Alfred 3. I am unable to find my applications folder. I had read through some other previous issues reported back in October and I was able to fix the issue by adding system/volumes but read that this was not the right solution so I removed that. Here is the default search scope and a copy of the metadata for the particular app I am looking for. /Applications/Anaconda-Navigator.app Internal File Metadata ====================== Display Name: Anaconda-Navigator Alt Names: Anaconda-Navigator.app File Type: com.apple.application-bundle Comments: Keywords: Last Used: 2019-12-29 18:31:47 +0000 Raw mdls File Metadata ====================== _kMDItemDisplayNameWithExtensions = "Anaconda-Navigator.app" _kMDItemEngagementData = {length = 13, bytes = 0x090000004069dbc14100020101} _kMDItemRenderData = {length = 11, bytes = 0x090000000012dcc1410016} kMDItemAlternateNames = ( "Anaconda-Navigator.app" ) kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "com.anaconda.io" kMDItemContentCreationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemContentCreationDate_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemContentModificationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemContentModificationDate_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemContentType = "com.apple.application-bundle" kMDItemContentTypeTree = ( "com.apple.application-bundle", "com.apple.application", "public.executable", "com.apple.localizable-name-bundle", "com.apple.bundle", "public.directory", "public.item", "com.apple.package" ) kMDItemDateAdded = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemDateAdded_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemDisplayName = "Anaconda-Navigator" kMDItemDocumentIdentifier = 0 kMDItemFSContentChangeDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemFSCreationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemFSCreatorCode = "" kMDItemFSFinderFlags = 0 kMDItemFSHasCustomIcon = (null) kMDItemFSInvisible = 0 kMDItemFSIsExtensionHidden = 1 kMDItemFSIsStationery = (null) kMDItemFSLabel = 0 kMDItemFSName = "Anaconda-Navigator.app" kMDItemFSNodeCount = 1 kMDItemFSOwnerGroupID = 20 kMDItemFSOwnerUserID = 501 kMDItemFSSize = 289168 kMDItemFSTypeCode = "" kMDItemInterestingDate_Ranking = 2019-12-29 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemKind = "Application" kMDItemLastUsedDate = 2019-12-29 18:31:47 +0000 kMDItemLastUsedDate_Ranking = 2019-12-29 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemLogicalSize = 289168 kMDItemPhysicalSize = 299008 kMDItemSupportFileType = ( MDSystemFile ) kMDItemUseCount = 7 kMDItemUsedDates = ( "2019-12-28 06:00:00 +0000", "2019-12-29 06:00:00 +0000" ) Edited December 29, 2019 by Lidarius Link to comment
Lidarius Posted December 29, 2019 Author Share Posted December 29, 2019 I just noticed that this is a shortcut to the application. When I search for others applications it is fine but not for this one application. here is the correct metadata /usr/local/anaconda3/Anaconda-Navigator.app Internal File Metadata ====================== Display Name: Anaconda-Navigator Alt Names: Anaconda-Navigator.app File Type: com.apple.application-bundle Comments: Keywords: Last Used: 2019-12-29 18:31:47 +0000 Raw mdls File Metadata ====================== _kMDItemDisplayNameWithExtensions = "Anaconda-Navigator.app" _kMDItemEngagementData = {length = 13, bytes = 0x090000004069dbc14100020101} _kMDItemRenderData = {length = 11, bytes = 0x090000000012dcc1410016} kMDItemAlternateNames = ( "Anaconda-Navigator.app" ) kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "com.anaconda.io" kMDItemContentCreationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemContentCreationDate_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemContentModificationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemContentModificationDate_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemContentType = "com.apple.application-bundle" kMDItemContentTypeTree = ( "com.apple.application-bundle", "com.apple.application", "public.executable", "com.apple.localizable-name-bundle", "com.apple.bundle", "public.directory", "public.item", "com.apple.package" ) kMDItemDateAdded = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemDateAdded_Ranking = 2019-12-23 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemDisplayName = "Anaconda-Navigator" kMDItemDocumentIdentifier = 0 kMDItemFSContentChangeDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemFSCreationDate = 2019-12-23 00:37:48 +0000 kMDItemFSCreatorCode = "" kMDItemFSFinderFlags = 0 kMDItemFSHasCustomIcon = (null) kMDItemFSInvisible = 0 kMDItemFSIsExtensionHidden = 1 kMDItemFSIsStationery = (null) kMDItemFSLabel = 0 kMDItemFSName = "Anaconda-Navigator.app" kMDItemFSNodeCount = 1 kMDItemFSOwnerGroupID = 20 kMDItemFSOwnerUserID = 501 kMDItemFSSize = 289168 kMDItemFSTypeCode = "" kMDItemInterestingDate_Ranking = 2019-12-29 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemKind = "Application" kMDItemLastUsedDate = 2019-12-29 18:31:47 +0000 kMDItemLastUsedDate_Ranking = 2019-12-29 00:00:00 +0000 kMDItemLogicalSize = 289168 kMDItemPhysicalSize = 299008 kMDItemSupportFileType = ( MDSystemFile ) kMDItemUseCount = 7 kMDItemUsedDates = ( "2019-12-28 06:00:00 +0000", "2019-12-29 06:00:00 +0000" ) Link to comment
Lidarius Posted December 29, 2019 Author Share Posted December 29, 2019 SOLVED by adding the following to my search scope /user/local/anaconda3 I am assuming since this was a cask install using Home-brew Alfred was unable to locate this one file. Link to comment
vitor Posted December 30, 2019 Share Posted December 30, 2019 20 hours ago, Lidarius said: I am assuming since this was a cask install using Home-brew Alfred was unable to locate this one file. The anaconda cask installs to HOMEBREW_PREFIX, which is (by default) /usr/local; Alfred’s default search scope has HOMEBREW_CELLAR, which is (again, by default) /usr/local/Cellar. Alfred does find most cask installs, but that’s because most of those install (once again, by default) to /Applications. In practice it’s more complex than that because casks can install much more than apps, but that’s the general idea. Link to comment
