Pause Tabs — Pause audio and video in web browser tabs

Tried with all extensions disabled on Chrome > restarted browser > Tried the link I pasted above (and others as well) > used pauseall/pause others keyword with tab in foreground and background

The issue with questions like this, which affect a single person, is that they’re hard to debug because it’s bound to be something on your side that is misbehaving. With macOS’ stability declining, it’s difficult to say if the cause is an esoteric configuration you set or a bug.

 

Try making a new temporary user account and testing there. Success or failure in that situation can give important clues.

Also have a similar issue that it's not working with Chrome. Disabled all extensions, still doesn't work. It does however work in an incognito tab. So something is still interfering with it, but can't figure out. :-S

Vitor, i really dig this workflow, but would you ever consider breaking out the audio and video components? I often want to mute the audio but not pause the video.

Muting the audio is a different thing. That can be done via the menubar, so you can go to System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts… → App Shortcuts and add specific shortcuts for those options. With a Dispatch Key Combo Output, you can trigger those any way you want (e.g. keyword).

Clicking the right menu items can be automated but it depends on your system language. I do have an idea to assist with that but it needs to bake some more.
