IdeaSandbox
As soon as I enter a period when searching for a file, Alfred thinks I want to visit a URL. I want to find a file by its extension. I know I have a font Elroy.woff, but I want to find Elroy.woff2 I would like to be able to type Elroy.woff2 or perhaps .jpg vs. .png to find a specific file. In short... how can I turn off the default for Alfred thinking a "." is automatically me typing a URL. Thank you. Edited November 18, 2023 by IdeaSandbox Link to comment
vitor
Seems like you have regular files in your default results. It is recommended to instead use open (or press the spacebar) to search for files. That said, you can disable the behaviour in Alfred Preferences → Features → Web Search → URLs / History → Recognise URLs (untick). IdeaSandbox 1 Link to comment
IdeaSandbox
@vitor thank you so much for your help. (I need to read the pref screens to see all the things I'm not taking advantage of) Link to comment
