  1. Thanks @Myra, I did the same thing, then it works for a while and after a while spontaneously not anymore. https://www.loom.com/share/d6dc1c59caec443695e49b82be63bb3b At this moment I do find files, but some folders I don't other folders I do. See Loom recording.
  2. Ok, I think I solved it. To get back to version 4, here is what I did: Found version 4 here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/v4/ Downloaded it. Uninstalled version 5. Installed version 4. Entered my powerpack license code for version 4. In Preferences > Advanced > Syncing, I clicked reveal in folder. Deleted the content of this folder and replaced it with content of 'Alfred Backup 2022-07-28.tar.gz'. Result: I now had Alfred 4 with all my settings working again on my computer. Then I clicked on the 'Version 5 now available' banner in Alfred 4. The only option I had via this route was to buy the upgrade (which I already did). So, here is what I did: Quit Alfred version 4 Installed version 5 from my downloads folder via Alfred_5.0.1_2067.dmg (which I had since the first upgrade) Then I opened Alfred 5, I expected the migration assistant to help migrate from 4 to 5, but nothing happened. All the settings appeared already to be there (without migration assistant?) I expected the need to enter Powerpack license code for version 5, but there was no need (?) Then I restarted my computer. Got an error message: Cannot open Alfred 5, because Alfred 4 was already running. I then removed Alfred 4 from Preferences > User Groups > Login Items, and added Alfred 5. Restarted again, now it works. I guess. Any comments from the Alfred support staff? Was this correct?
  3. Maybe I should download and install Alfred 4 and place back the settings from 'Alfred Backup 2022-07-28.tar.gz' in some folder? And then upgrade to Alfred 5? If this is the way to do it, where can I download Alfred 4?
  4. Hi, I just upgraded to from version 4 to version 5. The settings from version 4 were nicely imported in version 5. Then, I made a mistake. After the install of version 5, I noticed two Alfred applications in my Applications folder (Alfred 4 and Alfred 5), so I thought I had to uninstall Alfred 4 myself. I uninstalled Alfred 4 using CleanMyMac X. After that, Alfred was wiped from my computer. When I started Alfred 5 from my Applications folder it started the set up procedure again, but now without the option to import my Alfred 4 settings! Help! What to do? I have a file called 'Alfred Backup 2022-07-28.tar.gz' on my Desktop with the Alfred 4 settings. How do I get these settings into Alfred 5 again?
  5. I asked this before, hope to find an answer. What is the proper way to 'reinstall from fresh'? I tried this before and that didn't help. Maybe I didn't use the correct method. Here is what I did to reinstall from fresh: - Created a backup of data on external disk - Open System Preferences - Open System Preferences menu - Select 'Erase All Content and Settings' - Copy back my data from the external disk - Reinstall Alfred - Set up Simple Folder search - Test again As mentioned, this didn't resolve the issue. Should I try something else?
  6. So why is Alfred finding it via 'SPACE ready for anything' but not 'f ready for anything'?
  7. Thanks. I've tested with a new user account, but sadly without any success. What a mess. 😢
  8. Here is just another example: I have a folder called 'David Allen - Ready for Anything; 52 Productivity Principles for Work and Life (audiobook, ebook)' When looking at it via the troubleshooter, I get: Starting Diagnostics... When I do a file search with Raycast I see this (maybe that helps): the folder is not found this user, but it is found on this mac: Spotlight has no trouble finding it:
  9. Hi @Vero, so I've waited now for almost 3 months... still no update, fix or news on this issue? Would love to hear from you. Best, Koen
  10. Hi @Vero that was something I already did.
  11. Hi @Vero, sorry for the late reply. I opened 'System Preferences' and selected the menu option 'Erase all Content and Settings' Did you migrate any settings from a previous Mac or Time Machine after that? No. At this moment both Spotlight and Alfred can find files and folders when I use the "open" keyword. But when I use the Simple Folder Search Workflow "f" space ... it is not finding the folders that I would expect (folders that do show up when I use the "open" keyword). It is still happening every now and then. PS. It is interesting... I was experimenting with File Search Raycast. In Raycast you can toggle between search results on 'This Mac' or 'User (me)'. For some reason Raycast is also not finding the folders that I was expecting to find with Afred's Simple Folder Search in the 'User (me)' results, but it does find these when I toggle to 'This Mac'. Apparently, my files are still messed up...
  12. Please, remove this Moderator's note. It is not true. See post by @Vero here:
  13. Disclaimer: I'm a newbie at creating workflows in Alfred. I currently have created a custom Web Search in Alfred to search a specific website. It works great, but only if I'm logged in to this website. My question is: Is it possible to create a workflow that logs in to this website and then performs the search?
