sparker101
My first time trying to create a custom web search via https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/web-search/custom-searches/ and I've stuck out. The site I want to search is https://www.naplesnews.com/. Can anyone help me? Link to comment
vitor
Welcome @sparker101, I don’t see any search field on that page. The website has to allow you to search, to use custom web searches. Link to comment

sparker101
Thank you for your reply! There is a magnifying glass icon to the right of the menu bar. When that icon is tapped, the search bar opens. See screenshot attached. Does the way the search icon appears on the page mean this workflow won’t work? Link to comment
deanishe
Yes, we're not stupid. We know how to find the search function on a website We both live in the EU, so we get the EU version of the site, which doesn't have a search feature: However, I can access the normal site via VPN. Creating a custom web search is very easy in the normal case. You search for something, say "monkeys", then take the URL of the results page (in this case https://www.naplesnews.com/search/monkeys/) and you simply replace your search query with {query} to make a custom search URL. So in this case, your custom search URL is https://www.naplesnews.com/search/{query}/ Link to comment
sparker101
I’m sorry — certainly didn’t mean to insult .... I had no idea the UK didn’t have the search function. And thank you for that response. I will try it! Edited December 24, 2019 by sparker101 Link to comment
