MarcAtWork
I recently migrated to a new Mac Studio (from an Intel Mac) and now Alfred isn't finding some apps any more. Most of them are in a custom folder (that I've added to Alfred's search index), but some are in `/Applications`. Using the File Search troubleshooting, they show up okay (see attached report). Apps that Alfred is not finding include /Applications/Wireshark.app, but it does find /Applications/WhatsApp.app. It doesn't find any of the apps in my custom apps directory (the report below is from that directory, attached screenshot shows the settings page). I've tried: Reinstalling Alfred. Clearing the Application Cache. Rebuilt the macOS metadata. Alfred 4.6.4, macOS 12.3, Mac Studio M1 Max Starting Diagnostics... Vero
@MarcAtWork If you're on a new Mac Studio, you'll be using Monterey. Have you transferred your files from another Mac using the Migration Assistant tool? If so, you're encountering the bug in macOS Monterey's Migration Assistant described here:https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey Following step 2 will work around the macOS bug, allowing you to find files normally once again. If the issue persists after widening the search scope, please provide your Diagnostics file by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred and sending it to our info@ address with a link back to this thread for context. Cheers, Vero Link to comment
MarcAtWork
Thank you for the quick reply! Indeed, the files were transferred using the Migration Assistant. Step 2 of your guide fixed the problem with finding the apps in my "custom" apps folder. Some stuff in /Applications still didn't turn up, so I rebuilt the index once more (I noticed that Terminal did not have Full Disk Access yet, so I guess my previous attempt didn't work because of that). Now Alfred is finding all apps again, thanks! Link to comment
