chrisparker
Is the built-in Google Images web search broken? My browser (Safari) hangs when I try it. Probably started around the time of the Mavericks upgrade. A custom search of http://www.google.com/search?q='{query}'&tbm=isch works fine. Mac OS X 10.9.1, Alfred 2.1.1 with PowerPack. Chris The default google image search seems to be working perfectly fine on my end. I know that doesn't help much but.. as a test, do you have any other browsers installed that you could try temporarily setting as default to see if they work as expected? Alfred should just be inserting an url encoded version of your search string into the url and then opening that url the same way you would at the terminal if you typed: open http://alfredapp.com or similar. Chris I'm having the same problem. Google Image Search is broken for me. It seems like Google's search query string is much longer and includes many more variables than the simple one Alfred outputs. Something needs to change. It looks like the google images search forwards to www.google.com/images instead of images.google.com/images - I'm not sure why this isn't happening automatically for you as it is for me. For now, if you disable the google images search in Alfred's web searches preferences, and add a custom search with www.google.com/images?q={query} then things should work fine I'll update Alfred to use the direct URLs in the next release. Cheers, Andrew That's what I was doing -- using a custom search -- to get around the problem. Looking forward to the fix. Thanks Andrew! Link to comment
