bwat
Hey! I am trying to create a multi step workflow in alfred 3 which may or may not be extremely basic so I apolgize in advance if it is! The goal with this workflow is to first launch an app with a specific hotkey and once opened the workflow would execute a shortcut that pertains to an action within that specific app. IE shift+control+b opens Google Chrome and once opened the second part of the workflow executes the keyboard shortcut to open a 2nd tab. This is just an example to illustrate, not the intent. Thanks in advance for the help! -bwat Edited June 2, 2016 by bwat Link to comment
Vero
Hey! I am trying to create a multi step workflow in alfred 3 which may or may not be extremely basic so I apolgize in advance if it is! The goal with this workflow is to first launch an app with a specific hotkey and once opened the workflow would execute a shortcut that pertains to an action within that specific app. Which app will you be using? Is it Chrome or something else? Depending on whether the app supports AppleScript, this tends to be the easiest way to control an app on your Mac, so the best starting point is to share what app you'd like to control Cheers, Vero Link to comment
bwat
Absolutely! I am trying to open the blink1 app and fire the keyboard shortcut to clear/turn off the notification light (command, r). The app is found here for reference: http://blink1.thingm.com/blink1-tool/ Thanks! Link to comment
deanishe
That's a command-line tool you've linked to, not an app. Scripting command-line tools in Alfred is child's play: You add a Run Script Action, set Language to /bin/bash (or /bin/zsh if that's your preferred shell), and then write the command just like you would in a shell: blink1-tool off Simple.
