Hello,
I can't figure out how to write a workflow to
1- search for folders in my home folder
2- 2 options: display subfolders that I can open in Forklift or open that folder in Forklift
thanks in advance for your time and help

I recommend you to use "Run Apple Script (blocking)" to open the Alfred Preferences via BTT. It will be faster and safer. The applescript is just:
tell application "Alfred Preferences" to activate
return 1
and end tell at the end ?
thank you

thank you @vitor and @Stephen_C
I wrote a Better Touch Tool gesture to type ⌥ spacebar→ insert text by typing Show Alfred Preferences

To access my workflows, I am constantly triggering Alfred (Opt Spacebar) , then type "preferences" . There must be a faster way via keyboard shortcut, but I can find one in preferences.
thanks in advance for your time and help

See how the Reveal in Finder has a knob to the right (also showing up in the Open File in your screenshot)? Hover on the File Filter and it’ll show up. Click and drag from there. Or select one object and then ⌥+click on the next.
You should follow the interactive tutorial on making workflows: the Getting Started GuideIt's now crystal clear. thank you SO MUCH @vitor. I was totally confused.

Is your question about the positioning? Click and drag the object, you can move it anywhere.
If I right click on file filter → input after → I get the arrangement below. As you can see, I end up with 2 workflow object in series instead of open file and revel file in parallel.
There must be something major that I am not understanding.
thank you for your reply and patience.

Let's assume that I had only 2 workflow objects: file filter and open file, and that I wanted to add the reveal file in finder workflow object.
When I right click on the File Filter workflow object, I have 2 options: input before and input after, and neither of them inserts a workflow after the first and parallel to the open file workflow object.
I read the support site and could not find the answer
thanks in advance for your time and help

I restarted Scrivener and it works now. Very sorry for having taken your time @vitor

Do you literally have XXXXX in there?
no just for privacy reasons, as I was instructed in this forum to do.
thank you for your post.

Hello,
There must be something obviously wrong with this simple workflow. This works fine with Keyboard Maestro, ie using the URL action with the document URL and open with Scrivener
thanks in advance for your time and help

sorry to pester you on a Sunday. I will adopt your method, and would like to know how, using the sync on a single mac, you would restore alfred settings in case of an alfred catastrophe (not a general mac catastrophe).
thank you again very much

What I do is to create a sync file on my Mac which is backed up twice daily with my general backups: once off-site and once to an SSD with a Carbon Copy Cloner backup.
I understand completely and use both modalities (Dropbox and CCC). If you backup with CCC, might as well use the config files in the library which are also backed up assuming you make a clone.
Would it make sense to duplicate and add a date time stamp to the sync file ?
thank you

I am only using one Mac. I am not discussing syncing 2 macs.
I read about Alfred Sync in on the support site. It states that a sync can be used as a backup which I don't understand because any catastrophic error I make in Alfred would immediately be copies to the sync file. A backup (export) on the contrary has a date/time stamp which allows me to restore.
thanks in advance for your time and help

thank you again @Vero
I switched for Pathfinder and Forklift as a file manager. After doing some testing, I found that this behaviour is native to Forklift when you drag and drop into the trash bin.

Monterey 12.6.5
when I drag Alfred 4 from the applications folder into the trash I see the menu below.
do I uncheck all and check only the app ? I have no clue why I see "application deleter" when I have none. Thank you

Hello, I am using Alfred 5 and found that Alfred 4 is also present in my applications folder. May I just delete the alfred 4.app file or should I do a more extensive deletion, including folders and files in the application support folder, etc.
thanks in advance for your time and help

I read this in Alfred Help → Dependencies
Check for dependencies in Alfred Preferences > Workflows > Alfred Gallery (bottom left on the list) > Resolve Dependencies...
I am going bananas because I can't find "Resolve Dependencies"thank you

ot there. As the name says, that’s a a configuration builder and you changed a default value. To properly configure it, you click the big Configure Workflow on the top left.
thanks very much
