This workflow is used at least three times a day, so thanks again!
I would like to ask for an alternative. And I would like that I again that the parent folder name is grabbed, but there only the first 6 digits or up to the first hyphen.
230823-Testordner/
230823-Testordner/230823-stock
230823-Testordner/230823-graphics
So that the date is taken, but nothing behind it and then the suffix is appended again. Is that possible?
@Vero Thank you for your response. Jes I prefere Z to A because my data system uses a date in every folder name. 230629-ABC for example. And I like to have the newer folders on top for easy access.
Your solution is perfect. I even have a ton of Browse Via Alfred actions that I use to get to specific locations, and I never saw that there is an option for custom sorting. Perfect for my use. Thank you very much. This helps a lot!
Hi Stephen,
jes, they are always available. I think it is strange that alfred does not remember that. Can you check if it remembers the sorting A->Z or Z->A on your mac? Unfortunately, I have no way to check this on another computer.
@Vero And to be even more precise, the setting for sorting by Name, Creation Date, Last Modified Date, all remains, only the sorting within the setting remains A -> Z in my case. I would like it to display Z -> A by default.
Hi,
I use Alfred a lot to get to certain folders. Now all my files and folders start with the date 230627 for example (date auto expansion ), but now I like to have the newer folders on top and so I always have to reverse the order with CMD+SHIFT+S, but this every time I navigate again. Is there a way to set a default?
Thanks!
I use a simple workflow. I assigned a shortcut (F12) with the action „Pass through to workflow" and as argument „selection in MacOs” and connect this to this script. This way you have to select a folder in the finder, press F12 and the folder are created by this simple press.
Hope that helps
I already use your workflow very often. I would just like to make a change that I somehow can't manage myself. I would like the workflow not to ask for a new name, but to always follow the parent folder.
So I want to create a folder that I name XY. Then I want to execute the folder action which creates subfolders (XY_1, XY_2, XY_3 etc.).
How can I work around the second variable? Unfortunately I don't know enough about this topic Thanks for your help.
Hi Alfred community. Is there a way to save a text separately instead of putting it in the clipboard history?
Reason: I want to create a workflow so that I can cache a certain text at the push of a button so that I can use it in a workflow at a later time.
I want to save the file path of a file at the push of a button to be able to retrieve the path again and again during the day.
Since I want this path to change every time I press a button, I can't pre-program a snippet or create the workflow like this. Would anyone have an idea? I hope I could express myself understandably. Thanks!
