  1. I have found a much simpler way of achieving what I was looking for in a MailMate-adapted workflow. Apparently MailMate has it's own URL scheme (see here). It is easy to compile a simple workflow (or web search) in which mlmt:quicksearch?string={query} is entered as the URL in an Open URL action triggered by a keyword such as mmt. MailMate searches can then be initiated from Alfred using the same search syntax in the Alfred search bar that you would use in the MailMate search box. If, like me, you search in MM many times a day, this shaves several clicks off each interaction and makes for a more comfortable typing experience. It is also better than a multi-keyword approach since, it keeps the search syntax consistent across apps. Probably obvious to many, but helpful I hope to some other MailMate users.
  2. There is very little I can criticise in Alfred: it's possible to fine-tune almost every aspect of appearance and behaviour to work the way that feels best per user. It is a wonderfully user-friendly app. One thing however that bugs me quite often is the fixed height of the navigation window. If I navigate to a folder with a lot of files it would be so much easier to be able to see them at a glance without scrolling. Would it be possible to make the navigation window adjust to the height of the contents? Failing that, allow the user to set a greater default height? Failing that make the window height-adjustable by dragging? Thanks!
  3. Should this workflow still work with Alfred 5 deanishe? I have loaded the latest version but when I press @-space I get no hits, just fallback. Alfred has permission to access Contacts, does that cover all workflows? I downloaded this only to find a way of accessing Contacts Groups. Perhaps there is another way? Many thanks, Nick
  4. Many thanks sepulchra, I'll give that a try. There are countless ways to get from A to B in Alfred, and this forum helps make the journey a pleasant one. Since starting this thread I have come to realise that navigating disks from the root level is almost always less efficient than searching for specific folders and leaping off from there.
  5. Would it be correct to infer that there is no option but to wrap to the beginning when scrolling long lists of search hits? If so I'd also like the option to stop at the end. Not infrequently I have lapped the list without realising it. All the more annoying because there is no way of lengthening the relatively short window. There is very little I don't like about Alfred but this feels like a defect.
  6. Forward slash and tilde are also characters, but I guess they are hard-wired into Alfred as (effectively) hotkeys? I was hoping to replicate that behaviour for a different disk, but it sounds as though I have got as close as I can. Many thanks for your help, Nick
  7. Many thanks Vero. Points taken. I'll experiment with this and see what I can come up with.
  8. Thank you Vero, you supplied just enough information to nudge me to the solution. Sorry, just one further niggle: I have set both hotkey and keyword triggers leading to the same Show Alfred Utility. The hotkey brings up the disk in navigation mode whereas the keyword brings it up in search mode, with Enter taking it into navigation mode. Why the difference and is there any way to eliminate the need to use Enter after the keyword? I am afraid that muscle memory is likely to cause me to key a space instead. I have only been using Alfred for a week or two but I am fast becoming a zealous fan.
  9. You can initiate navigation mode on the primary drive and Home folder with forward slash and tilde respectively. Is there any way to initiate navigation mode on a permanently attached non-primary folder? I keep all my work on a secondary SSD which is permanently mounted, so while I can search it fine, and get into navigation mode via a filtered search, it would be great to be able to initiate navigation mode directly. Would this be a difficult thing to write a workflow for? Thanks.
  10. Thanks Vero. I already know that the MailMate data is searchable and where it is stored, it is just a question of how to whip up a workflow to search messages according to header criteria (from/subject etc). It's probably not as simple as substituting fields in an existing workflow, but it seems like that might be a good place to start?
  11. On 2 December 2020 Vero wrote I'd be interested to know if the workflow is still available, since while Mail mayb no longer be searchable there is no such limitation with MailMate, and I'm wondering if the workflow is adaptable. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the quick reply Vero—and sorry for inadvertently posting in the wrong forum. I see the rationale for plain text only but it's nevertheless a disappointment that style retention is not an option since most of my ad hoc copy-paste requires rtf. I guess I'll just have to stick with Butler/KM for clipboard history.
  13. Am I missing something or does Alfred's clipboard history only store text as plain text, not rtf?
