"monitor" could not find "Activity Monitor.app" in alfred 4

Recommended Posts

in alfred 3, I remember that I could use "monitor" to find and launch "Activity Monitor.app", but in afred 4, this doesn't work.

however, I could still use "activity" to find it.

ps: in my locale, the display name is "活动监视器.app"

In Alfred 4, the metadata used to match applications has changed due to keyword spamming by lots of apps on the App Store. I don't know if this specifically covers (non-)localised names, but could you try turning on the "Match Application's keywords in default results" option in Alfred Preferences > General > Default Results?

I can't found the application which in  /System/Applications/Utilities/ in alfred 4

@jimboRen If you're using the macOS Catalina beta, you'll need to ensure you're using Alfred 4.0.2 (Check for updates in the Update tab). Once you've updated, go to Features > Default Results and click "Reset" at the bottom of the Search Scope window to refresh the search scope and include the new paths from Catalina.

You may also want to type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the application cache.

Cheers,
Vero

Can confirm, Alfred 4.0.2(1088) doesn't find anything under `/Application/Utilities`, even when I've added it. macOS 10.14.5 (18F132).

@jrgifford It's likely that you need to rebuild your Mac's metadata index, which you can do by going to Alfred's Advanced preferences and clicking "Rebuild macOS metadata".  :)

Vero

I have the same problem.

I had my desktop files synced with the iCloud, thus all the desktop files are stored in the ~/Library/CloudStorage/iCloud Drive/desktop

After I add the desktop folder to the Search Scope I still couldn't find any result in it, but the SPOTLIGHT does find results.

So will it be fixed after rebuild metadata?
