Snippets from text file

Hi there,

 

I was wondering if there was a way to pull text data from a .txt document when using the snippet fonction?

 

Being able to store all my snippets in a synced Google Drive folder would be amazing.

If any of you have a similar setup using workflows I'd love to learn more about it! Tried to do it directly from Google Docs files but it's too complicated for my basic coding skills

I'm not entirely clear about what you need but if you want to import Snippets from a text file this Alfred help page may assist.

Edit: Of course, it would mean creating the snippets from the text file one by one.

Basically I'd wish I could use a placeholder like {file: /GoogleDrive/snippets/customer-return.txt} 

 

So that the content is always up to date company wide.

Welcome @cyrilbslx,

 

You can do it with a Workflow: Snippet Trigger → Arg and Vars Utility (in Argument, place the full path to your file) → Automation Task (Files and Folders/Read File Contents) → Copy to Clipboard Output (set to paste to frontmost app).

Save it as a prefab for quick reuse. Or use new ones directly: you only need to create a new Snippet Trigger and Arg and Vars Utility for each, they can all connect to the same Automation Task.
