GrimlocK
Hi, Everything is in the title. I want during my searches that certain elements do not appear. Possible ? Thanks Link to comment
Stephen_C
If you want permanently to exclude specific folders from your Alfred search results you can drag those to Spotlight's Privacy tab. Alternatively you can add an alfred:ignore tag to the relevant files (by doing a Get Info on them). In either case type reload into Alfred afterwards so that Alfred's app cache is refreshed instantly. The alfred:ignore tag will also allow you to ignore specified folders but still see their contents in search results. Stephen vitor and GrimlocK 1 1 Link to comment

vitor
To add to @Stephen_C’s thorough reply, there is also an official workflow which facilitates adding the tag and does apply it to folder contents. GrimlocK 1 Link to comment
GrimlocK
@vitor I come to test it on a folder. I added the tag tag but my folder is still visible Link to comment
Stephen_C
Did you type reload into Alfred (i.e., the box that appears when you run Alfred) afterwards (see my previous post)? Stephen Link to comment
GrimlocK
@Stephen_C yes i well executed this command. Link to comment
Stephen_C
And did you try using the workflow that Vitor mentioned? Stephen Link to comment
GrimlocK
@Stephen_C Tested on a folder yes. Link to comment
Stephen_C
What is the path to the folder you are trying to ignore? (I'm not sure that's going help me give you an answer but it may help Vitor!) Stephen Link to comment
GrimlocK
@Stephen_C Sorry. I tested with this folder. Link to comment
Stephen_C
Can you open the debug window for the Ignore workflow then run the workflow and try to ignore that folder again. Post the output of the debug window here. Stephen Link to comment

Stephen_C
I'm really sorry that I'm not sure why that is not working—although I have a slight suspicion that it may be because the Parallels folder is in some way a special folder. I'll tag @vitor to see if he can be rather more helpful than I have been! Just a thought…when you check the folder in Finder has the tag actually been added? Edit: Does dragging the folder into Spotlight Privacy work? Stephen Edited April 9, 2023 by Stephen_C Link to comment
GrimlocK
@Stephen_C yes it is weird. the tag is well added. I found a temporary solution by deactivating in the extras part the folders part. Edited April 9, 2023 by GrimlocK Link to comment
Stephen_C
OK: I'm sorry not to have been more help. Let's see if Vitor can add something when he comes across the thread. Stephen GrimlocK 1 Link to comment

vitor
You’re doing it on a folder directly under your home and search optimises that. To change the behaviour go to Alfred Preferences → Features → Default Results and Reset the Search Scope to Applications and Home. The box you unticked is orthogonal to the situation.
