Policy on downloading components into the workflow folder?

I have a near complete workflow for looking up an api site, but would like to speed it up by adding periodic download of the function list so the  querthey is local instead of via web every time.

 

Is this allowed?

Yes absolutely. A few extensions out there create databases or repositories for images with stuff from the web.

Probably a good idea to inform the user that it's happening though. IMHO.

Brian, I've done things like that with several of my extensions and workflows in the past. I wouldn't think it would be a big enough deal to have to inform the user unless youre going to consuming a large amount of space (which I doubt). AlfredTweet, a workflow I am currently trying to update if I could get Twitter to answer my questions.. slackers.. with cache a list of the users friends/followers for quick local access and autocompletion.
