Some unexpected results

I've noticed some wierd reults when searching with alfred (which is usually working correctly);

 

these issues are resolved when i type a third letter, so this is more in the category of "annoyances";

 

 

first; i try to start "Sequel Pro" and type "se" and get "System Preferences" as first hit?

 

 

 

 

 

second, i try to launch "Path Finder", and get "Sequel Pro" as first result?

Alfred learns your usage and prioritises accordingly... but first up, I'd set the fuzzy matching in Alfred's Advanced preferences back to the default "Fuzzy capital letters" as this will give less noise in your results and you'll find you'll get much more accurate initial results before Alfred learns your preference.

 

I'm not sure why "Sequel Pro" matches "pa" though - if you type "mdls /Applications/Sequel\ Pro.app" into Terminal.app and look through the response, it will show that may be a tag or alternative name which will match 'pa'.

If I remember correctly, "pa" matches because the Sequel Pro developers added the keyword "pancakes" to the metadata for the app, as it looks like a stack of pancakes. While it's a funny Easter Egg on the developers' part, I can see how it creates some confusion

I do  have "Fuzzy capital letters (recommended)" selected, i am assuming this is the setting you mean?

Can't recall I have changed it since i installed Alfred.

Have not done much tweaking of the alfred settings, except for excluding some stuff from being in the results themselves.

Seems correct. i type "sy" (as in syrup) and Sequel Pro is also shown as first result.

 

I am a bit confused how this is useful to use in autocomplete :-)

I think I should perhaps bring this up with the Sequel Pro devs, because they are no longer using a stack of pancakes as a icon, see screenshot in first post

Just make sure you select the relevant result you want for "pa" a few times and Alfred will list that result that's more relevant for you higher than Sequel Pro.
