  1. I just have one feature request. You can press modifier key on a safari tab to open 'other actions'. I want one modifier separate to close the tab. I used that action very often in my previous workflow and I don't want to press twice to close the tab. If you can add that, it would be really great. Thank you.

p.s. the only thing not faster in this workflow is searching through safari bookmarks, Andrew's file filter approach : https://infinit.io/_/yGhATALis amazing in that it is instant.

  2. Hey Dean,

I am still a bit confused as to how to make it work. I tried making something like this :

    E56UkCR.png

    Where the Applescript is :

    oo8VwOy.png

Perhaps it should be a script filter? But I have tested it with script filter too like so :

    L8nD9IS.png

And that doesn't show me anything. I want to invoke the workflow and instantly contents of the folders show, I don't have to press space or anything and then I can just scroll and choose the file I want.

Thank you a lot for your help.

Either open the directory directly from Finder using CMD+ALT+/ (I think that's the default).

Or to go directly to a folder, just tell Alfred to search that path via AppleScript, e.g.:

tell application "Alfred 3" to search "/Path/To/Your/Folder/Here"
  3. I have a workflow that selects text from selection and runs a script :

However due to nature of vim, selection in OSX does not work. I can get around that by having two hotkey triggers, one when iTerm is active and one when it is not however I cannot set the same hotkey to it, it doesn't allow me to. Is this a bug or it is intended?

If it is intended, can you please change it as it is really annoying. I would really love to have the same hotkey working but doing different actions depending on what app is active.

    Thank you.

  4. I use [unclutter](http://unclutterapp.com) as a temporary file buffer. It keeps files in a folder like so :

    40zukaZ.png

I want to make a workflow where if I was to call it, it will show me the contents of the folder in my search scope but only these files. Can I do that?

Making a search scope for this folder does not work as firstly it searches all files in the folder and when triggered, it doesn't display any files, you need to start writing your search query. I just want to invoke workflow and see what files are in the folder in a nice alfred prompt.

    Thank you for any help.

  5. I have quite a few bookmarks :

There is one workflow I use shared by Andrew that I use to go quickly to go to any bookmarked site I want and it is amazing.

One thing that I really wish I could make and it would be absolutely amazing to have is to be able to scroll through and see contents of each of the folders in the Alfred prompt, sort of like file navigation. I open the prompt, see all the folders I have, press enter on one of the folders, contents of the folders open and I can repeat the procedure until the website I want is found.

Can such a thing be done?

    Thank you for any help.

  6. I have a preset of websites that I made that I use to read my 'news'. With a hotkey a series of web pages open like so :

    zVvLH8r.png

I want to make an ordering so that I know what order they will be open with. I suppose I could of made it with 'delay' utility object but it does not allow me to to make '0.1 sec' delays or something like that, only full numbers. Full numbers won't do as I would like for it to be instant but still in the order I want.

    Thank you for any help.

  7. I still don't get why you wouldn't just activate iTerm right at the start, then write one set of actions based on the knowledge that is active..... Don't you want it active at the end in any case?

I just want a global hotkey that I can use from any application that I am in right now. Of course I can activate iTerm afterwards myself but it would be nicer if it would be activated for me.

  8. Why not just add two Hotkeys, one for when iTerm is the active app, and one for every app but iTerm?

Oh, this is actually a smart way to go about this. One issue is that I would like to have the same hotkey and Alfred doesn't for some reason allow me to use the same hotkey for the second one even though the second one should be activated only when iTerm is in focus. Copying the hotkey, just copies the hotkey object, it doesn't transfer the hotkey in there.

  9. what is your question exactly?  How to tell if an app is frontmost in Applescript?

    see http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/171709/applescript-get-active-application

It would probably be more reliable to just tell application "iTerm" to activate , then go from there -- it sounds like you always want iTerm to be activated in the end.

I want to make something like this :

    FlP18uf.png

And in the applescript it will check if iTerm is frontmost, if it is, it will go to one branch, if not, go to another. Perhaps I can do it some other way.

  10. I have a workflow : http://www.packal.org/workflow/iterm-sessions

I want to open switch to the tab and open my iTerm window. I can do that with a hotkey. So I can make a new applescript object in the end of the workflow that would simulate my hotkey to open my iTerm window like this :

    eEEkGVN.png

The problem with it is that this will close my iTerm window if I am running this workflow from iTerm window itself. I need some kind of conditional statement, somethings like this :

    yDj1MuK.png

Maybe that will branch off to two different paths depending if iTerm is frontmost or not. If it is not, it would simulate the hotkey, and if already in iTerm, don't.

    Thank you for any help.

  11. If you'd like to use iTerm instead of Terminal as your default terminal app, take a look at this post for the correct script depending on your version of iTerm:

    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/better-iterm-integration-in-alfred/

You'll be changing to "Custom" in Alfred's Features > Terminal preferences and using a script from above. :)

    Cheers,

    Vero

I have that and I use it. However there simply no option that I have to open my file filter searches in the Terminal. I have these file filter searches set up :

    y84YOem.png

And in there, there is no option to open the files in my Terminal. I can open them in Finder with cmd modifier but there is no modifier for 'open in Terminal'. Perhaps I should add something.

    Thank you for any help.
