I'm the author of that workflow. The workflow uses Alfred's Universal Action so you need simply to select some text, use your Universal Action hotkey (go to Alfred Preferences → Features → Universal Actions) and then look among the results for "Word and character count” (just start typing and it should appear quickly).
Let me know if you still have problems.

You can't upload workflows to the forum. The best thing to do is to host them on GitHub (initial steep leaning curve, in my experience, but easy once you get the hang of things and certainly the best way to host a workflow). I guess you could share something like a Dropbox link as a temporary measure but in the longer term that won't really work because it won't cater properly for updates to the workflow.

Maybe this is the workflow you are using. If so, there are many suggestions towards the end of the thread about resolving problems with it. As usual, if none of those help, open the debugger, run the workflow and post the output in that thread (if that is, indeed, the workflow you are using).

While I don't for the moment doubt you I can't reproduce it (and have had no crashes with the beta). But I'm on macOS 14.3.1. I'm sure the crash reports would be useful so do send them.

It looks to me as though you may have been copying a markdown table: is that possible?
Edit:…or some other kind of table!

the icon is Alfred default clipboard icon
Then suspect one of your workflows or something else you've been doing in Alfred. The point I was making about the time and date was meant to make you consider exactly what you'd been doing at the time the clipboard entries were added to the clipboard.

At the bottom right when viewing the clipboard history you can see the date and time of the highlighted clipbpoard item. Does that help to track down the items? It may give you some idea of what you were doing at the appropriate time.

So, without the frills at the end (copying to clipboard, etc.), it might look something like this:
(You need the empty Arg & vars before the lower of the two Text Views so you don't end up sending false to Text View.)
Of course, you may not want your draft email workflow to work like that! 😀

I guss you could get more flashy if you wished 😉, write to a text file and provide in the workflow for an option to edit that file if it exists. That way you could continue to develop the draft email—and then choose a modifier from Text View to copy to the clipboard when you wish.
Only a thought…!

Thanks for that Vero. As usual, realisation slowly dawned immediately after posting <sigh>. Sign of old age!
I'm meddling at the moment and seeing if there's something I can with Thunderbird's command line.

My default email client is Thunderbird. If in Alfred I open a contact and choose Email Thunderbird opens as expected with the contact details completed in a new email.
However, if I use either of the Universal Actions (Email to… or Email) Apple Mail opens and sits there empty and disabled.
Is there any reason why the Universal Actions don't default to the default email client?
Edit: Possibly scriptability, of course!

Welcome to the forum.
It may help to understand how Alfred orders search results so take a look at this Alfred help page: Understanding Result Ordering.
In practical terms, if you access a saved bookmark a few times you should find it rises to the top of the results list.

Version 1.3 of my workflow simply changes the name to "CleanShot X”, changes the icon and adds config. for changing the keyword to quit CleanShot X.

The recommendation when you have a problem with a workflow is to post in the thread relating to that workflow. That way the developer of the workflow is likely to see the post more quickly.
Please run the workflow and copy and post the entire output of the debugger in a new post on the relevant thread. That may help the developer diagnose the problem for you.

I'm sorry my initial reply was misleading. You should be doing what Vero indicated in her response:
3 hours ago, Vero said:As well as confirming which versions of Alfred and macOS you're using, it would be helpful to know whether you're syncing your preferences, and if so, what service you're using.
We're going to need to help you find a backup copy of your preferences in order for you to be able to restore your old Snippets collections so do please provide all that information.
Edit: You replied as I was typing this—but please reply to the part about your Alfred preferences: that's important.

I hope it's not out of order to mention my specific workflow to search for PNGs—which allows you initially to select the folder in which you wish to search (but does not then, in fairness, include sub-folders).

Welcome to the forum.
It may be worth checking the Trash to ensure the deleted old collection is no longer there. If it's not open one of your backups and look in ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Databases/ for snippets.alfdb.
If you have any problem please post again and confirm the versions of Alfred and macOS that you are using.

What I'm wondering is if it would be possible to use grid view as the output of a script filter.
See Script Source on the Alfred help page about Grid View—which provides some pointers.

Is there a way to trigger those spelling features with the typical keyboard shortcuts?
Or, indeed, a way to set defaults specifically for Alfred? (I don't like Apple checking my grammar but I would like it to check my spelling as I type. 😀)

Version 2.0 requires Alfred 5.5 or later. It includes the ability to create multi-line and multi-paragraph quick notes plus the ability to preview and edit the QuickNotes file using Alfred's new Text View. Full instructions are contained in the workflow ReadMe.

Version 4.5 requires Alfred 5.5 so if you are not using that please stay on your earlier version.
The new version allows preview of plain text and markdown links files using Alfred's new Text View. Editing of plain text links files also uses Alfred's text view. Full instructions for use of the workflow are contained in the ReadMe.

Important note
Version 3.0 (and later) of this workflow requires Alfred 5.5 (and above). Please stay on your earlier version if you are not using Alfred 5.5 (or later). The workflow is now called simply "Find and replace text”.Version 3.0 is a significant update using Alfred's new Text View to allow you to preview, and if necessary edit, the result of the find and replace. The ReadMe has been substantially re-written and contains full instructions on use of the workflow.
There are no dependencies.
If all goes well the workflow should be updated on the Alfred Gallery in due course.

Note
This workflow requires Alfred 5.5 (or later). It makes use of both the new Grid View and the new PDF View in Alfred 5.5. As the workflow is based on Alfred 5.5 beta there may be changes to the workflow during the beta phase of Alfred 5.5 following changes made in the beta.
Introduction
The workflow searches for PDF files in a folder within Alfred's default search scope. You select the folder and the workflow displays thumbnails of the PDF files from that folder in a grid. In essence the use is exactly the same as that for the Search for JPEGs workflow—with one significant difference. When viewing the thumbnail of a single PDF in Alfred's new PDF View (i.e., after selecting it in Grid View) you can press fn↓ and fn↑ to move through the pages of the PDF. Of course, when highlighting a PDF file in Grid View or viewing it in PDF View you can open it with your default PDF viewer using ⌘O (“O” for “open”)—and also by using ⏎ in PDF View. There are full instructions in the workflow ReadMe.
This workflow has no dependencies.
