Carlos-Sz Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Mailtags Workflow 2.5 Workflow to tag, tickle and set Project to emails using MailTags 3. The workflow was suggested by rdpozo.Usage Select email(s) from Apple Mail app Bring Alfred and type the keyword mtag (for tagging) or mproj (for Project) or mtic (for Tickle) Select a tag or Project or Tickle from the list or type a new one. You can also type multiple tags separating them by comma e.g. tag1,tag2,tag3 Hit return key You can set a new email Tickle by typing the date (e.g. 4/5/13 or 4-5-2013 or 4.5.13) or by telling how many days from now on (e.g. 5 days or 10 days). To delete all tags or tickle hold control key (requires MailTags 3.2.2). Type the keyword inbox to access your emails and set tags (return key), a tickle (control key) or a project (option key). This feature is still in progress. It will be slow if you have several messages in your inbox. Any feedback will be appreciated. You can also use a hotkey to bring Alfred or a second hotkey to tag with the text inside the hotkey configuration (see screenshot below from version 1.0). The same with Project. What’s new Version 2.5 Remove all tags from selected messages (hold control key in keyword mtag) Remove tickle from selected messages (hold control key in keyword mtic) Keyword inbox to access your inbox messages and tag (return key), set tickle (control key) or a project (option key) MailTags version 3.2.2 or greater is required Version 2.1 Fixed Tickle bug (thanks to Scott) Version 2.0 Multiple tags: separate them by comma e.g. tag1,tag2,tag3 Projects from Things, OmniFocus and The Hit List will also be listed Version 1.5 Tags and projects read from MailTags database (thanks to Scott) Version 1.2 tickle support Version 1.1 support for Projects list of tags (preferred and from the selected email) Download Version 2.5 Release date: 19 May 2013 Requires: Apple Mail app and MailTags 3 version 3.2.2 or greater Supports Alleyoop 2Download Now Edited February 19, 2018 by Carlos-Sz phyllisstein, fly, twinpeaks and 2 others 5
rdpozo Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 But, would it also be possible to tag mails using the "Projects" tag? I have several Projects assign with color which I would be great to access though Alfred. But I guess then Alfred needs to find the projects before it can present me with an option to tag the specified e-mail? Is this too complicated?

I should have something related to projects later today. Thank you for your feedback. rdpozo 1

cabey Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Thank you very much. This is one of the most useful workflows for me. Great! rdpozo 1
smorr Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 This is awesome. Thanks for doing this. What would also be great is handle tTickle dates and a few other things. and pull in Omnifocus, Things, theHitlist projects for the project list. The projects are polled regularly by MailTagsHelper and stored in ~/Library/Mail/Indev/ExternalProjects and simple plist files. If you need any assistance or is there anything that I can do to help, Let me know Scott Indev Software (Author of MailTags 3) Also would you mind if we listed this on our site/support page?
Carlos-Sz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Thank you very much. This is one of the most useful workflows for me. Great! Great to hear! This is awesome. Thanks for doing this. Hi Scott Nice surprise! I bought MailTags yesterday due the workflow (although MailTags was in my purchase list for some time) and I’m still learning what it can do. I own OmniFocus and I see a “OmniFocusProjects.plist”. The other two are “ThingsProjects.plist” and “theHitlistProjects.plist”? By the way, I couldn’t find a list of all tags used in MailTags, only preferred. Did I miss something? I’ll try Tickle dates for sure. You can list the workflow, no problem at all. Do you have an email so I can eventually contact you privately?
smorr Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hi Carlos drop me a line at info [at] indev.ca -- in the very least, I will look up your order and refund you as a gesture of thanks. Scott

Carlos-Sz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Version 1.2 is out with Tickle support See initial post for details.
cabey Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Would it be possible to set a calendar event with this workflow? (> i.e. set an event for tomorrow?)
smorr Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 @cabey Unfortunately no as I have not provided applescript support for calendar items in MailTags.
Carlos-Sz Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Version 1.5 Tags and projects read from MailTags database (thanks to Scott)
kelpie Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Excellent workflow, thank you. Is it possible to add multiple tags in one go or do I need to go through the procedure for each tag I want to add? Cheers

bmscmoreira Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Great and promising workflow, thanks! I have Mailtags 3 and Things so it would be great to have support for adding Thing's projects via Alfred as well (and also multitagging an email message as suggested above). Keep up the great work.
