howdytom reacted to Vero in Spotlight indexing issues in Ventura 13.6.1
@howdytom Could you please try dragging in an individual file from the volume in question? E.g. a document, PDF, image rather than the volume itself? This should provide some more insight.

Have you contacted Apple for support with this as your issue is a Spotlight issue at its core? If you do, I would recommend focusing your issue specifically on finding results in Spotlight without mentioning Alfred or other third-party tools you're using, as this may sidetrack the discussion away from getting the help you need.

Let us know how you get on

I had a similar issue with Spotlight.

After a week of trial and error troubleshooting it turned out that the issue did not occur when I logged in on my Mac account with the password. It seems that the fingerprint log-in causes some hiccup.

I still don't know the root cause of this, but not using the fingerprint sensor (nor Apple Watch if you have one) may be a workaround in your case too.

Mind you, Alfred uses the Spotlight index, so if Alfred produces correct results the Spotlight index is OK.
What remains is that the Spotlight search engine starts producing incomplete results.

I created this workflow to make entering TOTP codes stored on my Yubikey NEO easier.

So far, it has been tested with a Yubikey NEO on a MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina but it will likely work on any Yubikey that supports TOTP. I have no other devices to test with, but bug reports and patches may still be reviewed.

Although I am using awgo, it does not yet support auto updates. The interface is very stable so I don't expect needs to update frequently unless there are issues with new devices or new macOS versions.

    How it works:
Insert your Yubikey Open Alfred and type the keyword `yubikey` Filter using any part of the token you are looking for Press enter to copy the token or press Command enter to automatically paste the token into the front most window After several seconds, the clipboard will be cleared
Note: If you're Yubikey has a password, the first time you run the workflow you should be prompted for your password and access to the macOS keychain.

howdytom reacted to Vero in [Solved] Alfred does no longer find folder names that end with .com/.org TLD
@howdytom That's a macOS question rather than an Alfred question to be honest. I do believe there's a way to override the icon globally, but I can't remember off the top of my head, so a bit of online investigation may be required.

For anyone who comes across this thread in the future; The first step to investigate this is to look at the metadata, which will almost always give you the information you need to work out whether the file you're looking for is 1. of the file type you expect, 2. in the location you expect, 3. correctly indexed.

howdytom reacted to Vero in [Solved] Alfred does no longer find folder names that end with .com/.org TLD
@howdytom You can add the "com.apple.web-internet-location" type to the workflow types you can search.

Click the [+] in the bottom right of the box and add the file type manually. That should do the job

howdytom reacted to Vero in [Solved] Alfred does no longer find folder names that end with .com/.org TLD
@howdytom If you take a look at the metadata, the content type is "com.apple.web-internet-location", not a folder - so a workflow set to search only for folders won't file that content type.

Is it a cloud-based drive? If so, what service are you using?

howdytom reacted to Vero in Search email?
@Nooblet Welcome to the forum  Which version of macOS are you using? If you're using Mojave and earlier, you should be able to get this workflow working.

However, if you're on Catalina, it's not currently possible to search email; Apple have removed access for third-party apps to Mail.app results by excluding it from the Spotlight metadata that apps like Alfred can use to return results.

I'll keep the thread linked above updated if Apple change anything sufficiently for us to search email again.

    Cheers,
    Vero

howdytom reacted to Vero in Mail.app search by author, subject or content [For macOS Mojave & earlier]
In macOS Catalina, Apple have removed access for third-party apps to Mail.app results by excluding it from the Spotlight metadata that apps like Alfred can use to return results. As such, the workflow won't return any results, as macOS no longer returns any Mail results.

Here's a thread including responses from an Apple employee explaining what's happened to the Spotlight index. Within this thread, there's a somewhat possible workaround of copying the Mail folder to a different folder within your Home folder (e.g. in Documents), it becomes indexable. However, we can't advise doing this and you'd be doing so at your own risk, as it could cause other issues.

We are hopeful that Apple will realise that this is necessary to third-parties and bring this back.

howdytom reacted to vitor in [SOLVED] Workflow question: How to schedule emails?
Alfred is a launcher, meaning that by design you call it to do stuff, it doesn’t do things without you asking. To schedule commands, you’ll want to look into launchd, for which Lingon is a GUI.

Transmit 4 Workflow for Alfred app
Workflow for searching and opening Favorites in Transmit 4 App. It's really fast, because it reads the SQLite Database or XML datasource in latests releases of Transmit 4.
There are already at least 2 Transmit workflows, but one is incompatible with latests Transmit 4 and the other, although very good, uses AppleScript to do the searching, and thus you need to wait for Transmit to open to get feedback. This is particulary slow on non SSD machines.

    Usage
Type the keyword (default ftp) and start typing the name of the favorite to search; dead simple.

    Installation
For OS X 10.9 Mavericks, Download the alfred-transmit.alfredworkflow and import to Alfred 2.
For Previous OS X Versions, Download the alfred-transmit.alfredworkflow and import to Alfred 2.

Remove /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications from Alfred's Features > Default Results > Search Scope, then type 'reload' into Alfred to clear the cache.

Note that if you remove all items from the scope like in the original screenshot, Alfred will default to scope 'all', which will include Core Services. Also, you won't be able to exclude Finder, even though it's in Core Services as this is included regardless.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

You could use the Quit All Applications workflows system command and then just use the AppleScript out item to shut down. Something similar to this...
tell application "System Events" tell process "Finder" click menu item "Shut Down" of menu "Apple" of menu bar 1 end tell end tell
