Thanks for link to the (well-written) documentation, that is helpful! I'll symlink to one of those paths as the static builds from https://ffmpeg.martin-riedl.de are more up-to-date, contain some optimisation patches and homebrew's ffmpeg pulls in too many dependencies for my tastes. I realise I am swimming against the recommendations 🤪

EDIT: I can confirm symlinking allowed yt-dlp to use my own ffmpeg builds.

I just saw this has been forked and added to the Gallery, many many thanks to @giovanni and @vitor as this remains my favourite converter

For those who are having trouble with this workflow, if you are willing to use a BibTeX intermediate (which is necessary for many workflows), This is a superb alternative with the developer active and working on this:

It functions really well across many different reference managers (I use Bookends, will work with Zotero if you use BetterBibTeX), and is very fast for search and insert when writing using markdown or LaTeX...

Yes, it works as a variable. Which means that if your workflow has user-configurable keywords, the user themselves can make that value have multiple keywords by using the ||.

Starting from Alfred 5.1 (currently in pre-release), multiple keywords are supported.

sure, since bibliography data is really not anything sensitive or private, I just copypasted a sample of a few entries from my library: https://pastebin.com/b8mGbY7Z

For an example PDF, you could add this as new entry: https://doi.org/10.1080/03085140902786827
and then add the PDF here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/249006197_The_Role_of_Venture_Capital_Firms_in_Silicon_Valley's_Complex_Innovation_Network

I’d like to get @pseudometa’s workflows in soon to the Gallery. They're quire high quality and useful. What’s delaying the review a bit is that they require specific data to do a proper test and write up instructions/add extra screenshots. I’m not an academic (if I were, this looks exactly like what I’d use!) so I don’t have a library of research papers. Same with Obsidian.

As such, could anyone (pinging @iandol as well) provide a small zip with the files that could be imported? It doesn’t need to be a large library, just a handful of realistic enough information to proceed with the review.

Thank you if you can do it. If not, please let me know as well so I can’t think of another solution.

Instead of manually adding ~, try resetting the Search Scope. If the default doesn’t work for you, “Applications and Home” should.

It is, no worries. Jus give me a ping when it happens and I’ll make the change. But adding soon with the current page.

it would be much nicer if all screenshots were taken using the default Alfred theme? They're going to be a real mishmash of themes as it is. The below screenshot uses a custom theme.

Oh gosh! Honestly. You guys have really really outdone yourselves with Alfred Gallery. This thing utterly rocks. The integration with the workflow GUI is just stellar. Old workflows that are available show an upgrade, existing ones that are up-to-date with that cool little comet icon. One place to check for update. Resolve dependencies. 😍

I am just ever so slightly missing some filtered lists on the web page like "New" / "Updated" / "Popular, but I expect they will come with time.

A huge, stellar enthusiastic thumbs up 👍

    Updated to 2022.5.

Workflow is now distributed via the Alfred Gallery. Download the new version from there or update directly from Alfred.
New repository. New icon. New About. Add configurable keywords. Add advanced configuration for download format. Add multiple other workflow configuration options. Remove services. Remove OneUpdater in favour of Gallery updating.

This is so good it should be a native Alfred feature. Absolutely necessary for your productivity, not only can you do more without the mouse, you don't even have to create a Hotkey! I'm triggering it with Cmd+Space.

Workflow to search for articles on arXiv.org and view or download them. The workflow was tested with Alfred 5.

    Usage:
    arxiv <query>, e.g. arxiv longformer
This will search arxiv.org for papers matching your search criteria and display the most relevant ones.
    arxiv <arxiv URL | arxiv ID>, e.g. arxiv https://arxiv.org/abs/2004.05150 or arxiv 2004.05150
This will display the provided arxiv article and offer the possibility to download the PDF quickly.

Press Enter to view the article on arxiv.org.
Press Shift + Enter to copy the article URL.
Press Cmd + Enter to view the PDF in the browser.
Press Shift + Cmd + Enter to copy the PDF URL.
