vitor
Usage Edit labels or add and remove tags from files and folders via the Universal Actions. Alternatively, search for files and folders via the label, tag add, and tag del keywords or configure the Hotkeys. ⤓ Install on the Alfred Gallery | Source Edited March 21, 2023 by vitor bivalvegruff, twinpeaks, Domenic and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment
mathiregister
Dear Vitor, I'm on Mac OSX Mountain Lion, installed your Workflow but can't seem to get it working! When typing "label" it autocompletes to "labelcolor ". When typing further "labelcolor yellow" and hitting enter the file that's currently selected doesn't get the label applied. What am I doing wrong here? Link to comment
vitor
Dear Vitor, I'm on Mac OSX Mountain Lion, installed your Workflow but can't seem to get it working! When typing "label" it autocompletes to "labelcolor ". When typing further "labelcolor yellow" and hitting enter the file that's currently selected doesn't get the label applied. What am I doing wrong here? You’re not supposed to type the command, just the color. This is to be used as a file action, which means you select the files, then press the file action hotkey (I think the default is Cmd+Opt+\), and select “Label” — the text “labelcolor” will appear, and you just type the color. Also, see my next post, there’s an update that can make this easier. Edited May 3, 2013 by Vítor Link to comment
vitor
Small update. You can now use a hotkey to call the workflow on the files selected in the Finder. Link to comment
vitor
Update. You now pick a color by selecting, instead of typing it. Link to comment
vitor
Very minor update, just a slight simplification of the code to call the window that asks for input. Link to comment
vitor
Another very minor update. Deleted an unnecessary connection. Edited June 25, 2013 by Vítor Link to comment

playmakerx
Something off topic: what's the theme you're using? Thanks. Link to comment
vitor
playmakerx: Mil. Though I’ve stopped using it when I upgraded to version 3 and made Três Mil. Link to comment
cands
I use this workflow a lot, thank you for making it. I have a feature request: I think it would be good if it was possible to select color by writing the first letter, .e.g. "r" for "red". The workflow is great as is but that feature would allow to set the label even faster (at least for me, since I can't seem to remember the keyboard shortcuts and want to set the label instantly). vitor
Update. It now uses OneUpdater, so this should be the last time you need to manually update. Link to comment
vitor
Update. Use a List Filter instead of a Script Filter. Made some code improvements to the underlying script. New icon. To update, download the latest version (same URL) or wait a few days (15 or less) and it’ll prompt you to on next usage, since it uses OneUpdater. Link to comment
vitor
Update. It’s technically faster and smaller, though it’s unlikely you’ll notice. This is mostly to bring it in line with its script. I’ve also done some cleanup. To update, download the latest version (same URL) or wait a few days (15 or less) and it’ll prompt you to on next usage, since it uses OneUpdater. Link to comment
cands
I've been using this workflow so much, it's very helpful to organize files, thank you for making it. I wonder, now that (since a while) macOS has support for the more powerful feature Tags (which also will be supported by iOS if I understood correctly) - would it be possible to further develop this workflow to be able to assign tags? I realize that it is probably more complex... I would try to build such a workflow myself but my programming skills are not so good. For me, and hopefully for others, it would be very useful since I don't know of any other really convenient way to assign tags (especially since I mainly use Path Finder instead of Finder). vitor
Just now, llityslife said: Awesome, but it does not work on custom tag! Yes, that’s why it’s called LabelColor. Labels aren’t the same thing as tags. Link to comment
