when you are navigating files within alfred (and not the finder) you can change the sort order with a little gear in the bottom right corner:
-
that's helpful. I thought there might be a way to leverage the tools that quicktime/apple music uses for conversion but i see now they have removed lots of the detailed export options.
-
I don't know if it is possible but I would love an automation task that would allow for audio file type conversions -- where the file type, bit depth, and sample rate could be changed. I currently have a workflow built around ffmpeg that I use but would be nice to be able to achieve similar results without any dependencies.
Thanks!

@Vero Yes exactly ..... and/or showing off workflows that some have created..... for example I could also also see highlighting some of the cool workflows made by community members in the gallery too. Workflows by @vitor, @zeitlings, @Stephen_C, @BenjaminO, @giovanni .... and @pixelgeek above.
I think it should maybe 5 questions or so that users get asked? questions that get at how we use the built in tools, and what workflows we use in the gallery and why. But something for coders and non-coders. I think that is the strength of alfred! Also, I just want the public to see that you don't need VC money to make something great.I think the "uses this" blog is a great example on how it could work but focused on Alfred.
https://usesthis.comand here I am mentioning alfred back in 2013: https://usesthis.com/interviews/michael.raphael/. Interestingly, the only app I'm no longer using in that post is Evernote.

This is more of a suggestion for the alfred dev team, but have you ever thought about doing a series of blog posts that feature alfred users and how they use the app? I have been a monster fan of the app since it's early days (got me off qucksilver and launchbar).
I wonder if it would be a good way to show all the cool advancements in the app by showing use cases "real" users have.

I do not believe this is possible with snippet triggers.
I created this workflow: https://alfred.app/workflows/sepulchra/mail-link/
And it comes with the instruction to configure a snippet trigger if you would like.

@JEBR I reached out to the folks at soulver and I was curious:
QuoteSpotlight can search the contents of your Soulver 3 .sheetbook files (they're indexed with Spotlights APIs)..slvr files, are JSON, and .soulver files are (XML). I don't believe either of these are searchable by spotlight, as have custom formats.Cheers,-Zac CohanCo-creator of Soulver -
You can use the “in” keyword to search within files but if you want to narrow your search to just soulver files, take a look at creating a file filter
https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/
also @JEBR how are you able to search the contents of a .slvr files in sportlight? I did not see that functionality when i try it. i can search plain text files that way but I'm currently just using language that is within my soulver files and i'm not seeing that behavior.

@stephancasas does the preview file not display images?

Ah super interesting. I hadn’t thought about unnamed windows in that context. Regardless, I hope this was helpful. I’ve been using this workflow quite a bit lately and it has been very helpful for getting to 3 different finder windows I keep open for a project I’m working.
-
Not critical at all but one behavior i'm seeing with Safari, the alfredforum, and this workflow. When a forum tab is front most or is the only tab the Alfred shows two windows "Unamed" and the window with the description. I'm currently only seeing this with the forum but haven't tried this extensively. Also when Safari is not the frontmost app Unnamed does not appear in the list.

You're a genius! Thank you!

@vitor the last version of the workflow would keep the feed open in alfred while I hit return ... it was nice as I could open multiple articles in one go. Is that possible to configure?
-
thank you! @Praxder. That was fast.

Is there a way for Alfred to learn the results you choose most often, much in the way it works with list filters?
-
Thanks so much for that change! I’m someone with a clackity keyboard that doesn’t send an fn keycode.

thanks. this is is great info to have.

@OutlawAndy this is a really sharp use of alfred's built in objects. I'm curious under your clipboard advanced history preferences do you keep "Move items to top of clipboard history when used"? I'm wondering if that is left on if it may have an impact on your workflow.

@Willster you are looking for dynamic placeholders and want this one {date:long} and you can just put your wiki formatting around it in your snippet. Here is an example:
