Is it possible to make it persist and receive text from Alfred's clipboard history / snippet viewer?
This may need to be a request to @Andrew .... thanks!

I think it might be the setting under Features->File Search->Advanced -- There is a Copy Path setting you can uncheck "Escape path on 'Copy Clipboard' action. I think that might do the trick.

@sepulchra I've made a further tweak to the undo manager, could you update to b2255 before trying any further.

This is now in Alfred 5.5 Beta 2 b2253

Both a Workflow Object scoped option, and a global option (local to you, better if you're going to share the workflow)

@sepulchra perfect thanks, looks like the undo manager is getting confused. I'll have this fixed in the next release, cheers

Not the first time you’ve made an analogy from music. I like that, digging the sound. I was familiar with some of his other songs but not that one.

See why I enjoy so much when you two discuss workflows? Nice idea!

Huh, interesting idea too! I can see that being useful in other cases. Just released 2024.1 which adds an External Trigger.

one other thing i just tried..... you could add an external trigger to Vitor's Window Switcher Worklfow and then call that workflow after copy to clipboard and pick the open app/window you want to paste into.

So, without the frills at the end (copying to clipboard, etc.), it might look something like this:

(You need the empty Arg & vars before the lower of the two Text Views so you don't end up sending false to Text View.)

Of course, you may not want your draft email workflow to work like that! 😀

I guss you could get more flashy if you wished 😉, write to a text file and provide in the workflow for an option to edit that file if it exists. That way you could continue to develop the draft email—and then choose a modifier from Text View to copy to the clipboard when you wish.

    Only a thought…!

@sepulchra No license will have been issued in your case, as you upgraded from Legendary to Legendary+, and therefore already have a Legendary license at hand.

Users going from Mega Supporter to Legendary, as is the scenario for @Mr Pennyworth, will receive a new license as it allows them to activate with the Legendary license, reflecting their shiny new status in the preferences!

We're humbled that the community asked us to create this additional way to support Alfred; This really is the nicest corner of the internet

Yep, I can definitely add some font size options in the Text View config.

The Font menu on the popup shouldn't be there (as it's plain text), I'll remove that in the next build.

The next build will have both ⌘; and an option in the Text View config to enable continuous spell checking by default (when the text view is set to Editable).

The text view is also a fantastic addition, took me 2 minutes to create a "simple scratchpad app" with it.

Could the font size maybe be made configurable? Like, the text is really small, making it a bit of an accessibility problem for people like me.

edit: just discovered that you can increase font size via right-clicking and selecting "Font". However, the selection done there does not persist, so it's not really a solution, unfortunately :/

I'm guessing this might be a tall order, but it would be great when editing a file via the new text view object if it could leverage's apple's spell check functionality. I often use Tot.app or another text editor to write email drafts and adding this functionality would be incredibly useful get me to not open those other apps for this purpose.

Wow everyone, this release is hugely impressive. This must have been a tremendous amount of work. Apologies @vitor for jumping the gun on the View Notes workflow thread. So grateful to have all this hard work at my fingertips day in and day out. It is hard to believe you aren't a team of 10 people.

I do have a very important question though. How legendary does our support need to be to get an Alfred Bowler in the mail so we can look like John Bonham in the 70s?
