Alan He reacted to squatto in Find 2Fa/two-factor auth codes in Messages
Safari automatically reads your text messages and asks you to auto-fill any two-factor codes it finds:

I don't use Safari (I use Chrome) and I was sick of having to manually type the codes from my messages. This workflow reads your message history and finds the most recent 5, 6, 7, or 8 digit two-factor codes. When you select a code and press <enter> it is copied to your clipboard, or you can press <⌘+enter> and it will copy the code to your clipboard and paste it into the active application.

I have one note and two feature requests. Note: You should write “About” in the Placeholder Title of the Script Filter. Why? Here’s the difference when typing “abo”:

The difference? The second one has the Placeholder Title. That means that with that feature I’ll be able to type “a” and press ↵ to:

Feature Requests: Add battery information and disk space information of the internal hard drive and any connected drives. Example outputs:

    Title: Root: 663G free
    Subtitle: 67% of 995G

    Title: 76%
    Subtitle: Battery Power, Discharging

Thank you for considering it. I’ll understand if you decide not to add it; you may want to keep the Workflow simple.

Alan He reacted to Vero in prevent spolight from certain location not work
@Alan He If you take a look at the subtext for Airdrop, it says "Open Airdrop in Finder", rather than jut the path as it would for Safari, etc. This is because Airdrop, like Finder, isn't listed there as an app, but added to Alfred's results by us.

As such, results like Airdrop and Finder can't be removed by excluding from the macOS index. There's no way to remove them, but we'll keep this in mind.

Alan He reacted to Vero in Mail.app search by author, subject or content [For macOS Mojave & earlier]
Thought I should share this workflow to search Mail.app

Use the following keywords to search:
emfrom to search the sender's name and email address em for a general subject + content search emsubj to search specifically for a subject line
You can download it here. Enjoy!

This version is suitable for both Alfred 3 and Alfred 4.

Compatible with macOS versions up to Mojave.  Unfortunately, due to some changes made by Apple in macOS Catalina, it's no longer possible for third-party apps to access your Mail data. This may change in the future, but currently, using this workflow in Catalina or Big Sur will not return any results.

Alan He reacted to Vero in file search
@Alan He The word "file" starts at a word boundary, so it's a relevant result.

Beyond that, Alfred uses a bunch of other factors, such as your knowledge (files you've opened before), so if you open the "typings" file a few times, Alfred will learn you're keener to have that file come up in the results at the top for that search term

    Cheers,
    Vero

Alan He reacted to Vero in file search
@Abhishek Jain How are you searching for files?

Are you prefixing your search with the spacebar as I assume your general files aren't (and shouldn't be) in your default results?  I believe characters after a dash should be treated as a new word boundary by the macOS index (certainly seems to be in Big Sur)

Might be worth familiarising yourself with the spacebar shortcut:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/spacebar-trick/

Next, if you're still looking for a word that isn't the start of a word boundary, you can prefix the characters with a wildcard star, e.g. "[spacebar]*file".

    Vero

Alan He reacted to Takuro in Another Spelling Mistake in Clipboard Preferences
I got curious when the latest 4.3.2 release notes said there was a spelling mistake in the "clipboard" preferences, so I  got bored and played "spot the mistake" and ended up actually finding a different spelling error. I think the below text in the "advanced" section is meant to say "if it has been".

Alan He reacted to SimplyJimRiley in Alfred Clipboard History Sync To Multiple Computers
Hi, I am new to this Forum.  I searched for this topic, but didn't see it listed - so apologies if this has already been requested.

I would like to see my Clipboard history sync between computers (via iCloud, Dropbox, etc)

Paste has this capability via iCloud- https://pasteapp.io/?utm_source=setapp&utm_medium=setapp
Sync & back up your clipboard history to iCloud Keep your Clipboard History and Pinboard securely stored in iCloud so that it becomes reachable from all your devices. Enjoy having all your data synced across all of your devices. Needless to add, this snippets manager also runs well with Universal Clipboard on all other devices.
If this capability has already been requested, could someone point me to the request, so that I can up vote.

If it hasn't, I would submit for consideration.

    Thanks!

Alan He reacted to Vero in Alphabetize the Features section in the preferences?
@derBingle Rather than manually go to the preferences to find your Snippets, just type "?snip" and press return to be taken directly to the Snippets preferences.

You can do this for any feature, and any workflow, etc in Alfred. You can also type "?keywords" for a list of your keywords or "?hotkeys" for a list of your hotkeys.

More info on using the question mark trick here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/search-alfred-question-mark-trick/

Features are organised very intentionally by level of importance, grouping search related features (default search results, web searches, file search/actions) together, followed by built-in features like Bookmarks, Clipboard, Snippets, and onto simpler features like Calc and Dictionary, and finally third-party integration with 1Password and more minor preferences relating to System commands, Terminal, etc...

Putting 1Password or Calculator above the primary Default Search results wouldn't make sense just for the sake of alphabetisation

@Benben Ah I misinterpreted what you meant by "quickly search (not auto expand text)"

I actually have a ticket for adding the Workflow Snippet Trigger results to both the Snippet Viewer, and the snip keyword... which I believe would satisfy what you're looking for.

Btw - just to explain my goal:

    I code.

I love using snippets. But i also love using advanced snippets (workflows).

I want to be able to quickly search (not auto expand text) my snippets and my advanced snippets (workflows),
    in one place.

For now, i can search snippets in one place and the advanced snippets (workflows) in another,
and it's very inconvenient when you have a lot of snippets (and advanced snippets).
