  1. @AKPRODUCTIONS There are a few reasons Alfred may not be finding files on your external drive. First, macOS needs to be indexing the external drive as Alfred uses the same underlying index to find files; According to the troubleshooting you've shared, indexing is enabled on your external drive, but macOS currently isn't indexing the files in question, so that'll be the first step. (To clarify: This troubleshooting report from Alfred presents the metadata of what macOS is doing, as Alfred uses the macOS metadata index and doesn't index anything directly.) Once files on the external drive are showing as indexed, you have a few options: 1. Create a File Filter workflow to specifically find files on the external drive. This is the recommended option, as it's more efficient and gives more control over the scope and content of the results. 2. Add your external volume to your search scope in Alfred's Features > Default Results preferences. Here's a more detailed explanation of how different types of external volumes work with macOS indexing that will give you additional insight: Cheers, Vero
  2. Alfred 5.5 Release Candidate is now out with build 2257; We're now one step closer to the general release. We've tidied up a few more things in preparation for the release, and you've all been doing a great job helping us test it out! Full details are in the change log in the Update tab, as usual. Cheers, Vero
  3. @andy4222 Stephen's workflow tidies them all behind a single keyword. There's an alternative workflow here with individual keywords for each preferences pane.
  4. @GrimlocK Taking a look at your Sync settings, I can see that you're using ~/Documents/Alfred Settings/ as the location for your preferences, which will be synced via iCloud. First, quit Alfred and copy the Alfred.alfredpreferences file from your sync location to: ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/ In the Application Support folder, delete the prefs.json file and relaunch Alfred. In the Advanced Preferences, Alfred should now say that your preferences are not synced. Try using your preferences in this location, and see if you get normal behaviour in terms of updating workflows, removing duplicates, etc. This takes iCloud out of the equation, and we can then set that back up next.
  5. @macrospect Could you please elaborate on that? Is the Alfred bowler hat still present in the menu bar? Can you show Alfred's search by choosing "Toggle Alfred" from that menu bar icon? I'd like to understand if it's a scenario where 1. Alfred quits or becomes unresponsive or 2. Alfred is still there and working but your preferences have been moved or removed so Alfred may not be responding to the hotkeys you expect. If it's the latter, try temporarily creating a new folder directly into your user directory (i.e. /Users/yourusername/Alfred/ - not inside Documents or Desktop, as these can also be synced by iCloud) and set your preferences to be "synced" to this location. This will unsync your preferences on that Mac, and will give a stable location for your preferences. Try setting your computer to sleep and waking, etc to see if the behaviour returns to normal. This will help narrow down the issue to a syncing one. Cheers, Vero
  6. @abraver Next time this happens, could you open Activity Monitor, choose Alfred and do a Sample Process, so that we can see what's happening during the unresponsive time?
  7. @GrimlocK Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ address, so that I can take a look at your sync configuration, as what you describe (trying to delete a workflow, and it comes back) sounds like Alfred doesn't have permission to make changes to the location where you've saved your preferences, or that a backup/sync service is reinstating files behind the scenes. Cheers, Vero
  8. @GrimlocK Looks like you have two instances of the same ChatGPT workflow. Could you delete the disabled one? Or if it's there for a reason, change the bundle ID (by right-clicking it and choosing "Edit details".
  9. @llityslife Could you please ensure that your Alfred preferences are always available offline? It looks like Dropbox may have moved your preferences to be online-only, resulting in them being unavailable to Alfred. You'll find details here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/advanced/sync/#always-offline
  10. @Cipri Are you able to try a different internet connection? E.g. by connecting to your mobile phone?
  11. @Cipri Where in the world are you, and are you using a VPN? Or could you be running some local network management tools like Little Snitch that could be restricting Alfred's ability to connect?
  12. Alfred 5.5's first beta went out a week ago, and it's been a solid release so far! Beta 2 (build 2253) is now available on the pre-release channel. Here are the changes from Beta 1 to Beta 2: Add "View in Alfred" as new default result modifier action in Advanced prefs Add optional knowledge based sorting to the Grid View, defaulted to enabled Add spell checking options to the Text View Add ctrl+n/p navigation in Grid View Add text size options to the Text View including global sizing options Tweaks to Markdown Rendering Fix rendering issue when jumping Alfred Window between displays with an over-sized Alfred window Fix Text View crash after confusing Undo Manager with dynamic script population Add display mode options to PDF View, with Automatic mode which remembers the view setting on the PDF View popup A number of code clean-ups and performance tweaks; Gotta keep Alfred lean! Fix a few spelling mistakes Cheers, Vero
  13. @Rene I haven't received any diagnostics/files from you yet, so I've dropped you a DM confirming contact details. Please ensure that you specify whether you were using any sync service previously, so that I can give you the best guidance on locating your preferences.
  14. @Keith Helfrich Welcome to the forum. If the location was renamed, but otherwise the contents was kept the same, pointing Alfred's sync location (from the Advanced prefs) to the new one should be sufficient. The file you want to find / keep backed up is your Alfred.alfredpreferences bundle. There are a few other things to check with Dropbox: Ensure the folder containing your Alfred preferences is set to always be available offline, which you can set by right-clicking the folder in Finder Check the history of the file in Dropbox itself to make sure you're not looking at a legacy / previous version you'd used If you keep a Time Machine backup of your Mac, you can revert to a date before your Dropbox change, and look for the Alfred.alfredpreferences bundles. Keep a copy of this somewhere safe and I'll help you reset your preferences Cheers, Vero
  15. @Buffer Just to clarify, we don't track your data so Alfred doesn't hold any knowledge of your API usage. Your privacy has always been a priority for us, so we don't keep aggregate data of users' Alfred usage, don't track your searches and don't host your preferences. You could create a quick keyword-based shortcut to launch the API usage page of the OpenAI site so you can easily pop it up to see how much data you've used. It won't take long for you to get a feel for your own usage level, I'm sure!
  16. @nano5 Glad the mystery is solved 🤣
  17. @nano5 To me, it looks like the contents of a Sudoku game being copied to clipboard. Are you playing Sudoku on any of your devices?
  18. @nano5 That may be copied from a spreadsheet and formatted by the inputting app. Remember that apps can copy things to your clipboard without your direct knowledge or action. When you see the Alfred icon like that, it can also indicate that Alfred doesn't know the source, or have been copied by Universal Clipboard
  19. @nano5 This data will be something you copied on another device, transferred to your Mac via Apple's own Universal Clipboard feature. Could be on another Mac or on your iPhone/iPad. You can disable this in the preference by checking the "Ignore data from other Apple devices" box
  20. @Stephen_C As you guessed, scriptability is the issue here. When we last checked, Thunderbird still didn't offer support for third-parties to create an email with an attachment.
  21. @Buffer You can see a fairly detailed summary of your usage on the OpenAI site's Usage tab: https://platform.openai.com/usage You'll see your activity split by day, and by text and image content.
  22. @ZG13 Welcome to the forum! Alfred has a built-in File Search Troubleshooting tool; Open your Alfred preferences to Help > Troubleshooting > Run Troubleshooting... then drag in some folders/files you can't find in Alfred. You'll find out whether they're indexed, whether they're in the search scope etc... You'll find more details here on the indexing page, including how to rebuild your Mac's index: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ If you're still having issues finding files, please provide all the information outlined on the page above so that we can help you further. Cheers, Vero
  23. @willoneal There are a few ways to do this: 1. Tell Parallels not to include virtual apps on your Mac. This knowledge base from Parallels might give you a starting point: https://kb.parallels.com/en/112798 2. Drag the folder of Parallels apps to Spotlight's Privacy tab to tell Spotlight not to include them in the index. You'll then need to type "reload" in Alfred to force Alfred's cache of apps to refresh.
  24. @sepulchra No license will have been issued in your case, as you upgraded from Legendary to Legendary+, and therefore already have a Legendary license at hand. Users going from Mega Supporter to Legendary, as is the scenario for @Mr Pennyworth, will receive a new license as it allows them to activate with the Legendary license, reflecting their shiny new status in the preferences! We're humbled that the community asked us to create this additional way to support Alfred; This really is the nicest corner of the internet
  25. @Mr Pennyworth Nothing to worry about if you deactivate - The preferences will pop back up and you'll be able to enter your ✨Legendary Supporter✨ license instead Thanks for your continued support!
