  2. The workflow v1.2.0 is now out, bringing a new command to install all 16 themes at once. The perfect choice to save some time on a new setup. Download it from https://github.com/AlexMartinFR/mojave-alfred-accented-themes and type this command to get started: theme install Enjoy 😎
  3. @David Craig This is a known issue in Catalina; Alfred is fully signed and Notarised, but Catalina doesn't recognise notarisation correctly in the latest build: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/catalina/#notarisation Simply ensure that you download Alfred from alfredapp.com and not a third-party source and you'll be fine. We're counting on Apple to resolve the issue in a future beta. Cheers, Vero
  4. Can confirm that @LucTeo's suggestion to (re?)enable indexing on /Applications/ worked!
  5. I'm having this issue as well, does anyone know what Onyx would be resetting that could be helping Stooovie?
  6. Yesterday
  7. Ive just doen a clean install of Cataline Bet a4 It wil not even permit an install, says that the app must be updated as Apple cannot verify it. its not possible to authorise it in the security settings
  8. I also had the same problem discussed here. After opening applications like "Excel", I could find it in Alfred; but typing "Word" in Alfred yielded no results, as I haven't opened it since I've reinstalled the OS. For me, running the following command did the trick: sudo mdutil -E /Applications/ -v
  9. Did you uncheck the "Always run immediately for first typed arg character" option? That's critical.
  10. Many thanks for the suggestion. That option was already set, and changing Run Behaviour to various settings didn't change things. But, again, thanks - it was worth a try.
  11. There's really not much that can be done to actually improve the speed of the search: calling applications via AppleScript is fundamentally slow. However, you might be able to get faster results by changing the Script Filter to only search once. Open the Script Filter, click the Run Behaviour button and change the Queue Delay settings. For slow-ish searches, I find that setting Queue Delay to "Automatic delay after last character typed" provides the best results.
  12. Ideally Alfred would work just like LauchBar and let me copy multiple contact fields. I work in an industry where I have to share contact info all the time as plain text and LaunchBar is the only app I've found that can do what I want. I'm trying to create a workflow that's attached to the Custom Action of the Name field. I select the name and hit Enter and the script will use the name to search my contacts and copy all the fields to the clipboard as plain text. I have very little knowledge of how to do this so I got stuck very quick. There's an action in Automator to do this but you need to pass it the actual ID of the contact which I have no idea how to get. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  13. Mpco - I just downloaded the most recent release - thanks so much for keeping this up to date. I started seeing very slow searches in DT3b3 and still in DT3b4. It's not timing out. I tried running the script with logging enabled, and there's fully 7 or so seconds between when I enter text and results are returned: [11:23:10.768] Logging Started... [11:23:17.517] DEVONthink Search[Script Filter] Queuing argument 'c' [11:23:18.774] DEVONthink Search[Script Filter] Queuing argument 'chancery' [11:23:24.083] DEVONthink Search[Script Filter] Script with argv 'chancery' finished Thanks for a brilliant workflow - just wanted to draw your attention to the issue.
  14. Same as that. When using such a common character as the comma as a delimiter, it really needs to be possible to escape it with a backslash or a double comma.
  15. I’ve made a few tests and was unsuccessful, and the documentation doesn’t mention it. Looks as if it can’t be done as of now — moving to the feature requests forum.
  16. @droidpeek41 please ensure you download Alfred directly from https://www.alfredapp.com/ as the crash report suggests that your install of Alfred is corrupted.
  17. Alfred doesn't support any sync APIs. It is entirely service agnostic. It saves its stuff to, and reads it from a folder on the filesystem. How you sync that is up to you. You can use Dropbox, or Unison, or keep your preferences in a git repo or on a USB stick. Dropbox is simply the official recommendation because it's free and works more reliably than other similar services like iCloud or Google Drive. Can't you share your Alfred sync folder with your work account?
  18. If you want to use a specific interpreter, either change the shebang in your script or use /bin/bash as the Language and specify the full path to the interpreter: /usr/local/bin/python scriptname.py "$1"
  19. Can I select a custom path to python/ruby/swift for a script in Alfred 4?
  20. Odd issue here - I have tried all of these steps and have the issue that some app are seen and launch, some are not. One odd thing that is happening per the image As you can see I seem to have some looping going on in my files hierarchy (Finder) and Alfred when the path is loaded renames Macintosh HD -> Data None of the files in this directory launch.
  21. Is there a particular reason Alfred doesn't support the Dropbox API? As it stands now I can't use multiple dropbox's on my computer using the dropbox client, thus I'm prevented from syncing my Alfred settings on my work computer as I have a work dropbox on work computer. If Alfred used the Dropbox API, on my work computer Alfred could use the Dropbox API to log into my personal dropbox and sync settings while I would maintain my work file level access through the Dropbox client.
  22. @Vero I feel so stupid I didn't look at this option in the settings before asking the question. In my mind, I had looked at this setting loooooong time ago and it was not an option I EVER could be interested in. So I didn't before asking the question. 🙄 You are right, it make sense to let the user set to their own preference, not the workflow creator.
  23. Hi, I'd like to do the following in snippets: {random:You are amazing, thank you, Thank you} i..e "You are amazing, thank you" OR "Thank you" one of the two should be pasted. But how do I escape the comma?
  24. Hi, I found it very helpful, but the download is not available now.
  25. Hi, I just updated my note taking workflow for DEVONthink 3. It's aimed at withing with PDF files, annotations and making notes with markdown. Here the the readme: Alfred Keywords: dn create/open associate markdown file dns associate an exsisting markdown file with a PDF dp open selected PDF with default application dpc open selected PDF with Clearview dph open selected PDF with Highlights dpp open selected PDF with Preview dm open selected markdown with default application dmv open selected markdown with Marked 2 To configure this workflow you will need to alter the "viewer" variables in the "Args and Vars". If you leave viewer unset the system default will be used. Please change the keywords to whatever makes sense or delete unnecessary launchers. The commands can now be configured to support multiple content types. The main reason this is necessary is because DEVONthink uses 2 types for PDF, one with text (PDF+Text) and one without (PDF Document). It's a bit annoying if your're writing a plugin like this. Anyway, the "content_type" will now accept multiple semicolon separated values. This workflow supports my process, which is,: Use a PDF viewer with good support for annotations to directly highlight, underline and make notes on a papers content. I particularly like Clearview for this, although, Highlights has merits too. Export the notes into a convenient format for editing and expansion of and further comment on the notes already made and embedded into the PDF. Finally, pull together the different notes into a cohesive form. This helps me with the first two items; providing the following features: Extra shortcuts for launching specialised PDF viewers, with the dp (default), dpp (Preview), dpc (Clearview) and dph (Highlights) keywords. Creation and association (using the URL property of the PDF's record) of markdown files in a subgroup, called 'pdf notes', which is a sibling of the PDF in question. Using the dn keyword. dns (DEVONthink Pro notes set) can be a nice shortcut with Highlights; it can export annotations as markdwon. It will associate and existent markdown file with the selected PDF. It is a two step process: select the PDF, activate dns and select the markdown file; finally click Ok. The markdown file is moved to sibling "pdf notes" group. Opening the markdown file via the hyperlink, wherever it has been moved to. Using the dn keyword. Opening markdown with two keywords: dmv and dm. The first, dmv, is intended to open the markdown file with a viewer; Marked 2 for example. The second is intended to open it in an editor; the "viewer" variable is unset so the system default will be used. The features described in (1) and (4) use the current selection in DNtp to decide which PDF or markdown file to work on. The other three, (2), (3) and (4), do so too but indirectly; the PDF which is associated with the markdown should be selected to open or set the markdown association.

  27. @TJung Despite my post above, I ultimately couldn't get EggTimer 2 to work consistently. Having tested all of the Alfred-managed timers, I now use SandwichTimer, the only one that works (at all) for me. Fortunately, it works well and have been pretty reliable so far.
