  1. @LyleDiamondScripts In case it wasn't obvious from Vítor's reply, you have two options in a situation where there's a workflow you want to make significant changes to: 1. Keep the workflow as per the original, where you'll receive Gallery updates. Changes to keywords and hotkeys that are set will be retained if you check the "Migrate configurations" option. 2. Duplicate the workflow by right-clicking it, and change or remove the bundle ID so that it's no longer updated via the Gallery. You'll no longer receive updates but you'll also be able to modify the workflow as much as you want. Hope this helps
  2. @LyleDiamondScripts I've double-checked that behaviour is as expected, and if you choose to migrate your customisations when importing, all hotkeys should remain present. Could you please let us know exactly which version of Alfred and macOS you're using?
  3. @Sridhar Katakam @Bimmel Have you had a look at this issue on the workflow creator's Github? Looks like it might solve your issue: https://github.com/jaroslawhartman/TimeZones-Alfred/issues/55
  4. @Carlitos10032 It sounds like you might have a hotkey conflict. If you change your hotkey combo to something more obscure and unlikely to be used by Spotlight or another app, do you see normal showing/hiding behaviour? If that's the case, take a look at this troubleshooting page: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/cmd-space/ Once you've identified which app/tool is clashing with the Cmd + Space combo, you'll be able to use it for Alfred once again, and should see normal showing/hiding. Let us know how you get on
  5. I'm also using Dropbox with the new location. Resetting the search scope to Applications and Home allows you to search Dropbox files just fine
  6. @johnnyriss Welcome to the forum Echoing what @Stephen_C is saying, if your issue is specific to Dropbox, you may also want to set those Dropbox folders to be always available offline. Dropbox folders that become online-only (behind the scenes, potentially without you being aware) to save space may not be showing as normal files with full metadata, resulting in them being less predictably returned.
  7. @machupchiu Welcome to the forum! Can you tell me where you're moving the file to? When moving to another location on your main drive, the file will be moved. If you're moving it to an external / network drive, it will be copied. We use the default AppleScript behaviour where "moving" to an external drive keeps the original file as a safety net, should something happen when moving the file to the external drive. When moving on the same disk, the reference is simply updated, and no file is actually physically moved and no file data is changed. When moving to an external drive, the physical file is written to the new drive and the new drive will report back that this is "successful", but there is a chance that the file has been written to some bad sectors and by automatically deleting this file from its origin, the file is now lost. This is essentially why Finder's default behaviour changes to copy (unless you force it with cmd), and AppleScript changes the move command to a copy command automatically. Having said that, you could create a script that moves and deletes the file, and add it as a Universal Action to replace the default "move to..." action, if you're comfortable with the underlying risk of a file disappearing if macOS fails to copy it correctly. Hope that makes sense
  8. How funny Thanks for sharing! There's an Arc workflow to search tabs and space on the Gallery, should Arc browser users wish to use it: https://alfred.app/workflows/caicailiushui/arc-tabs-and-spaces/
  9. @zkarj A little tip to follow on from Stephen's suggestion - Type "reload" into Alfred once you've added the alfred:ignore so that Alfred's app cache is refreshed instantly Another way to exclude apps is to drag them into Spotlight's Privacy tab. Again, type "reload" into Alfred if the app still appears in your results after adding it.
  10. @Scott Goldman Sorry, it seems the OpenSearch and SearchAction section might've caused confusion. These are two separate ways websites can document their search structure using either the OpenSearch or SearchAction standard. You could use the first by clicking "Use" on the right if you wanted. Having said that, I also had a look and created a web search URL for you as follows: https://neeva.com/search?q={query} To get this, I did a web search on Neeva and replaced my search term with {query} You can then create the custom search, using the above as your URL. You can set the display text and search term as you wish. Once you've done that, go back to Features > Default Results, click "Setup fallback results", use the [+] and choose Neeva from the Custom Searches list. Remove any other default web searches you don't want to keep in the Fallbacks and save. Hope this helps!
  11. @Scott Goldman I'm just happy to see you found your own solution so quickly 😄 Could you share the Neeva page you'd like to use as your search? Some sites aren't set up to be searchable easily (often by design) but if you share it, we might be able to help you get the URL you need.
  12. Can't wait to see what everyone's favourites are... TinyPNG by @vitor : I use this one many times a day via a Universal Action to compress images. I have a bunch of File Filters set up for various folders on my Mac, whether it's art/personal projects, Alfred stuff, etc... They're a great time saver once you set a scope and a few file types. Yak Saver: I like using a pomodoro-like workflow to get me to focus on one project for 20 minutes, then take a break and so on. Paste as plain text from hotkey is the simplest of tasks, but invaluable. It's not the size of the workflow, it's what you do with it that matters!
  13. @dburr For some users (but not all), Dropbox's change has caused an issue in the underlying macOS index scoping. If you're one of those who encounter this issue, you can work around it; Select the Alfred Preferences > Default Results > Search Scope > Reset... then select Reset to Applications and Home. This removes the Folders in Home option, and adds your home folder directly.
  14. @bytesmiths Normally, when a user isn't able to expand snippets or paste from clipboard but the features appear enabled in Alfred's preferences, it's because of broken Accessibility permissions. You'll need to grant permissions here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#integration If they already appear to have been previously granted, follow the steps to clear and re-grant them, as these most likely became corrupted during your upgrade: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#regrant This comes with the caveat that you're updating / maintaining your Mac in non-standard ways, so it's possible that your issues with permissions are coming from this.
  15. For anyone looking for the workflow, it's available directly from Alfred Gallery: https://alfred.app/workflows/alfredapp/system-settings/
  16. No need to check the Applications folder as it's included in the / scope already.
  17. @Willian In a past beta version of iCloud, Apple had a "pin this folder" option so that only specific folders could be stored locally, but they removed this in the general release of the OS. As such, when using iCloud, all Apple offers is an all-or-nothing solution. Dropbox or any other sync service that allows you to keep files stored locally and is available immediately at startup would allow you to sync your preferences, but sounds like iCloud won't be the right solution in your specific scenario.
  18. @oatflan Could you add Alfred manually by going to the System Preferences > Users & Groups > Your current user > Login Items? What happens if you add Alfred this way then restart your Mac?
  19. @Willian Once again, it is possible to use iCloud. Ensure Optimised Storage is disabled, and setup a regular backup, and you'll likely have a totally smooth experience with iCloud. We recommend iCloud more tentatively because Apple can change things behind the scenes (as they have done many times over the years) which could change the behaviour of the sync mechanism at any point.
  20. @vic12es Welcome to the forum. The way Alfred uses preferences is very different to apps like Things (which is exclusively available via the Mac App Store and uses an entirely different synching mechanism) so these two don't compare. Having said that, you can use iCloud and many users do. The key is to ensure Optimised Storage is disabled on your Macs, so that your preferences are always available to Alfred. I would recommend also backing up your preferences to Time Machine, as iCloud still has hit-and-miss file conflict resolution. In other words, if you edit a setting on two Macs, iCloud sometimes struggles to work out how to handle these changes. If you have a backup, you can very quickly revert to a recent version of your preferences We're also investigating various other syncing solutions, as we want to ensure it's as straightforward for everyone as possible!
  21. @alpo Sounds like you're seeing the Recent Documents Universal Action for the Music app. When you say you're "clicking return", do you mean you're tapping the return key on your keyboard? Below are the possible keys that can trigger Universal Actions, so could you check your configuration here?
  22. @JH2023 Welcome to the forum The best thing to do when apps aren't being found is to use Alfred's built-in File Troubleshooting tool. Open Alfred's preferences to Help > Troubleshooting > File Troubleshooting, and drag in some apps or files you can't find in search. Alfred will then give you various pieces of information, such as the metadata macOS has on that file/app, whether it's included in your current Alfred search scope, and what you can do about it. The message is usually quite self-explanatory, but if you're not sure, please paste the results of the troubleshooting in your reply here and we'll take a look.
  23. @AuthorsAssembler Could you please let me know whether you’re currently syncing your preferences? And if you are, which service you’re using? This may provide more insight into why you’re seeing that behaviour.
  24. @sepulchra You can select the dividing line and either make it zero opacity or set it to the same colour as the background. Or drag it down to collapse it to 0px. If you need a hand, share your theme and we'll help you out!
  25. If you're referring to the latest version of Evernote, this is written in Electron, a cross-platform software framework that makes it easier for companies to write one app and distribute it to Mac, Windows, etc... all at once. Unfortunately, a side-effect of no longer having a Mac-specific app is that it's no longer possible to search Evernote in the same way as before. We've sent our feedback to Evernote, but you may want to do the same, letting them know you'd like them to support indexing/search on Mac.
