@Andrés If you manually navigate to ~/Music/iTunes/, is there an XML file called iTunes Music Library.xml? If not, iTunes hasn't created the necessary file yet. Do you have locally stored music in your iTunes library for it to be created? If the XML file exists, have you tried manually entering ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml into the Library XML path? Cheers, Vero

@snsokstan Assuming you're using Alfred 4, you can type "?snip" into Alfred to be taken to the Snippets prefs, you can then just use Cmd + N to create a new snippet. @RNRN Could you please take a look at a couple of settings first, to ensure everything's how it should be? In iTunes itself, go to Preferences > Advanced, and ensure that the box for "Share iTunes Library XML with other apps" is ticked In Alfred's preferences, Features > iTunes > Advanced, check that the Library XML is the same I know you said you don't use the Mini Player, but pop up the Mini Player and press Cmd + R to refresh the cache and ensure you're up to date This first ensures that your library is correct and matching, and that Alfred has access to the most recent cache. Now that this basic setup has been checked, do albums continue playing as expected? If not, could you please open Console.app and see whether any error messages are shown either for iTunes or Alfred when you try to play a random album? I can see this as well in Mojave; It seems to be an iTunes bug, but we'll take a look and see if it can be worked around. As far as I can see though, it doesn't stop albums from playing as expected to the end Cheers, Vero

@Travis Schmeisser Alfred's snippets don't expand in Alfred itself by design. You can remove Alfred from the excluded apps by going to Features > Snippets > Auto Expansion Options > and remove Alfred 4 and/or the Preferences as you'd like. Check whether you've got Alfred 3 and 4 running concurrently if you're seeing your old snippets expanding in Alfred 4, as that may be Alfred 3 running in the background. You can do this by launching Activity Monitor and sorting by name. You can then quit Alfred 3 if it happens to be running too. Cheers, Vero

@robert_muench MailMate is supported by default so there's no need for any scripts So long as you set MailMate to be your default mail client, the "email" keyword in Alfred will also use it. Cheers, Vero

@skarchmit Alternatively, if you specifically want to add folders to your Default Results, you can do this by checking the "Folders" tickbox in the Features > Default Results. Personally, I have Preferences, Contacts and Folders included in my default results (as well as apps, obviously) Cheers, Vero

@stevex Could you please let me know what Screen Sharing app you're using? And are you Screen Sharing to a Mac or a Windows machine? To paste, Alfred uses Cmd + V, but it seems that with your current setup, the Cmd is being lost between your Mac and the Screen Sharing session. If it's a Windows machine, it would be because Windows is expecting Ctrl + V to paste instead. [Edited: I see you're saying you're pasting to TextEdit on the shared screen, so I assume you're on Mac, but I'll leave the question above, in case I'm assuming wrong.] Moving this to Discussion & Help as fellow users may be able to provide more insight into screen sharing once you've provided a little more details. @giovanni If you set your sync folder temporarily to be a local path (e.g. a folder on your Desktop), do preferences behave normally? Usually, there are two reasons why preferences may not be preserved after setting them: The preferences file isn't always-available (e.g. not available at startup) and stored locally. If Alfred doesn't see a file in the expected path, he'll create a new one, which can create a file conflict or a new set of preferences. Permissions issue on your Mac: If macOS isn't allowing Alfred to write to file in a particular path, preferences may not be saved. As such, testing with a new sync location like your Desktop, will allow you to check your preferences are saving normally. You'll then be able to try again (ensuring you always keep a backup) with OneDrive, and work out whether there are issues with that particular location. As far as OneDrive goes, you'd need to ensure it's available at startup, before Alfred launches, in order for the preferences to be available as soon as Alfred needs them. Cheers, Vero

@CoalCar You can manually drag the old versions to Trash once you're comfortably settled in with Alfred 4 I wouldn't recommend using an app cleaner, as they can often be overzealous and delete necessary files. Cheers, Vero

@tjosinga On your iOS device, go to the Settings > Alfred Remote and you'll be able to choose to "Prevent device from sleeping", so that when you're using Remote, it doesn't go to sleep Cheers, Vero

@AdrianDuan Open Alfred's preferences to Features > Clipboard (not Snippets), and remove or change the hotkey from the Clipboard Viewer. These are two individual features, with the option for their respective hotkey; Only the Clipboard Viewer one is set by default. You can either leave them blank if you never use the viewer (by selecting the field and pressing backspace) or change them to a hotkey you'd prefer. Cheers, Vero

@godbout @deanishe Are either of you using Grammarly before pasting text into here? When I go to the first page and look at the blank section above @godbout's post, I see a tooltip that says "Protected by Grammarly". Could it be that some weird metadata is being pasted along with the text? Or that a Grammarly browser plugin is inserting some non-text weirdness with the visible text? If you can let me know, I'll still report that to IPBoard as something that could/should be improved, but both posts where there's some uncopiable text and weird spacing, I get the Grammarly tooltip. macOS will request this one automatically when it's needed; The button is there to review your options or if you've declined it before and need to go check the box. If you don't see Alfred in the Automation options, then you haven't been using actions that require it yet, and don't need to worry about it. If any are greyed out (Full Disk Access and Automation), it's because you're on a macOS version older than Mojave, and these permissions aren't required. Cheers, Vero

@patgilmour Snippet expansion is always disabled in Alfred and Alfred Preferences by default (and would have been in Alfred 3 too), but you can remove Alfred from the ignore list by going to Features > Snippets > Auto Expansion Options > Options, and remove Alfred from the list. Cheers, Vero

@luckman212 That checkbox is optional by design; More apps have started keyword-cramming in their metadata (treating it like some sort of SEO keyword cramming technique), which is very naughty and leads to confusing search results for users. As you did, you can enable it if you do want these keywords in your search results, but by default it's off. Cheers, Vero

Hi @Mikael Grevsten Alfred relies on the macOS metadata index provided by your Mac. If this is corrupted, then the information necessary for Alfred to return apps in your results isn't there. Alfred 3 would've had a cache of applications, which would've masked any underlying metadata issues. Alfred 4 needs to create a new cache, but it appears your metadata may be corrupted. You can rebuild your macOS metadata index by going to Alfred's Advanced prefs and clicking the Rebuild macOS Metadata button. Hi @petty, Andrew responded to your email about this four hours ago by email. Just in case you missed his response, here's what he said: First thing to do is reset the permissions on Alfred's application support folder. Open Terminal.app and type the following two commands: xattr -rc ~/Library/Application\ Support/Alfred chmod -R u+rwX,go+rX ~/Library/Application\ Support/Alfred If these give errors, let me know, otherwise that should sort things to allow Alfred to write to his folder. No one else has reported this permissions issue, but it may come in handy if anyone else has slightly wonky permissions. Cheers, Vero
