  1. Alfred isn't an email client; Are your emails in Mail.app, a third-party app like Outlook, or web-based like Gmail? This will help establish where the emails are so that we can help you work out how to ensure you can search for and find your emails Cheers, Vero
  2. @gta91 A few things to check: 1. Are you using Mojave? If so, could you please check the Automation tab in Security & Privacy and ensure that the checkboxes for Alfred to have permissions for automation in the browsers are ticked. Here's more information on granting Alfred the right permissions: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/macos-mojave/ 2. How frequently/recently have you used that workflow? Could you please quit Alfred, drag this build to Trash and re-download v3.7.1 from alfredapp.com, and test whether the issue occurs in this build as well? If it occurs in this build too, then the issue isn't related to the recent changes Andrew has made. Let us know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  3. @nikivi It's hard to say whether it's still related to that previous issue you were/are having, as it's not something I've seen from anyone else. Can Spotlight find the files? Given how specific your path is, you could always remove the file types from the basic setup, as I'd imagine the Numbers app folder will only contain Numbers files. Cheers, Vero
  4. @nikivi Works for me, both with the search scope set to iCloud only, and with the search scope cleared to find the files elsewhere on my Mac as well. Check the state of the metadata for those files, and make sure you've got iCloud's "Optimised Storage" disabled, as the files won't actually be stored on your Mac if that feature is enabled. Disabling Optimised Storage: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207236 Metadata tool to check what metadata is provided on those files: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Cheers, Vero
  5. Make sure that you're navigating to your user directory's ~/Library/ and not the main Macintosh HD Llbrary. Quickest way to do this is to paste the ~/Library/Mail/ path into Alfred, in fact Don't move anything, as Mail's files need to be where Mail expects them to be. Just make sure Mail is set up with your accounts, then take a look at the path above ensuring you're definitely in the right user directory, and we'll take it from there. Also, please let us know which version of macOS and Alfred you're using. Cheers, Vero
  6. @Trapper Dave Could you please provide more details so that we can help you? - Which version of Alfred and macOS are you using? - How are you searching? What are you typing exactly in Alfred? - Are the emails you're hoping to find in Mail.app? Or a third-party email client? - Were you previously using a workflow, or showing emails in your file search results? - Please provide screenshots of your Default Results and File Search preferences so we can see what settings you've chosen For example, if you were previously searching using a Mail.app search workflow like this one, you may need to import the workflow to get started. If you can provide more information, we'll be happy to help you. Cheers, Vero
  7. @up quark Welcome to the forum We offer the free version of Alfred to allow users to familiarise themselves with the core features, but this doesn't include Snippets Text Expansion, as the latter is a Powerpack-only feature. To download the free version of Alfred, visit https://www.alfredapp.com and click "Download Alfred 3". If you'd like to use the Snippets feature, we offer an affordably priced Single User license. Of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask here, and fellow users will be able to help you decide. Cheers, Vero
  8. @roguelazer Welcome to the forum You'll need to grant Alfred Accessibility for the Lock command, so go to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and ensure that Alfred's present and checked. Let me know how you get on! Cheers, Vero
  9. @cayman Welcome to the forum I'd recommend using a workflow for this; If your calendar is anything like mine, it'd clutter results quite significantly if these were included in default results. Here's the calendar workflow I use, for which I've set the keyword "cal": https://www.dropbox.com/s/aa2y8morc97k5r3/Calendar search.alfredworkflow?dl=0 Cheers, Vero
  10. @Spencer Transier Welcome to the forum If you're referring to the "non-synced" list, the "Snippet Auto-Expansion" listed there relates to whether text expansion is enabled; You can choose to use text expansion on one Mac but not the other. The snippets will be synced between your Macs, making them available to copy from the Snippets Viewer - or when text expansion is enabled on the second Mac. Hope that clarifies things! Have fun! Cheers, Vero
  11. @patgilmour This isn't possible, but it's something we'll keep in mind when the File Filter object gets an update. Cheers, Vero
  12. @ben.mcmurry Thanks for providing this. Could you please then follow the steps in the rest of my post and let me know the outcome? Cheers, Vero
  13. @patgilmour While the files can't be returned in date order as such (as they're sorted by relevance if you've already opened some of the files more recently), you can certainly use the File Filter's Advanced > Date Range, as this is something I use in my own modified version of the workflow. Keep in mind that the creation and modification date are both taken into account, so take a look at the dates in the metadata (either by revealing it in Finder and looking at the Get Info, or by using Alfred's Metadata Tool: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip) Also, just in case it caught you out, remember that you need to save/close the File Filter window with your change if you've used the dropdown to set a different Date Range before your workflow will take it into account. Cheers, Vero
  14. @bmazin @ben.mcmurry Could you please both provide me with the following screenshots? Your Default Results settings (with the prefs window large enough to be able to see the full search scope) Your File Search settings Next, reset the search scope to the defaults and uncheck "Include folders in Home". Add your Home folders one by one to the Search Scope until you start seeing the Mail attachments once again. This will then allow you to narrow down which folder is causing the mail attachments to show up when they shouldn't. Our theory is that there may be a file system link hidden in one of those folders, causing these unexpected results to be included. If you can narrow down to it, it'll make it easier to either remove that file system link or tweak your scope accordingly. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  15. @imam299 Welcome back to the forum! I can see you were using the Evernote workflow created by Carlos-Sz two years ago, so it's likely that you just need to update to the new version. Take a look at the first post in the thread on the Evernote workflow, and ensure that you are using: 1. The correct version of Evernote from evernote.com/download/ (not from the Mac App Store) which should be Evernote 7.8.something at the time of writing, and 2. You download the associated version of the workflow for the version of Evernote you're using, which should be Evernote 9 beta 3 on the thread linked below. Here's the thread to get you started again: Cheers, Vero
  16. @GK Dude It's something I've played with on many occasions, but Instagram make it intentionally hard/impossible to search or index, to ensure that everyone uses their mobile app (even the desktop site has limited functionality) so this may not be possible.
  17. @tomhunt Try typing "reload" into Alfred to force the cache to refresh. Let me know how you get on
  18. @Chip Alfred learns from your usage, so if you've opened the 2018 file for an entire year and have only just created the 2019 file, it's likely still thinking you're more interested in the old one. First, go to Alfred's preferences > Advanced > Learning and ensure that the box next to "Top Result Keyword Latching" is checked. Next, select the 2019 file a few times. Alfred should now latch to the new file for you If it still doesn't, there may be some corruption in the Knowledge file, so to back to the same preferences location and click "Clear Knowledge". You can then select the 2019 file a couple of times to start teaching Alfred again. Cheers, Vero
  19. @M. Hope Aguilar I've responded to one of your emails to let you know that you misspelled your email address when purchasing your license. I'll reissue the license for you as soon as I'm back at my desk tomorrow as it's now past 10pm here in the UK. No need to worry, I'll correct the license for you first thing tomorrow. Cheers, Vero
  20. @IloveComputers82 As I explained in my earlier reply, this is a very straightforward feature to set up, and one we know works as expected on macOS Mojave, so you'll need to do some of your own troubleshooting. Only you know exactly what applications, plugins etc are installed on your Mac, so you'll need to experiment to get to the bottom of why snippets may not be working on your Mac specifically. Cheers, Vero
  21. @delputnam Apologies for the delay - I had to have a chat with Andrew about this as it's an unusual issue. If you restored the second Mac from the first, including all of your Application Support folder, it's possible that the server UID for each Mac is the same, resulting in Alfred thinking both Macs are the same device. Here's how you can resolve this: Delete all devices from Alfred Remote Quit Alfred on both Macs Navigate in your user directory to ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3/ and delete the /Remote/ folder completely on both Macs Restart Alfred and re-connect your devices - each one should now be given its own server UID Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  22. If the keyword doesn't disappear, then it's one of the following two things: Either something is stopping Alfred from capturing key events, and therefore stops him from knowing you've even typed a relevant keyword Or you haven't properly configured text expansion It may be the latter, as you say you're not getting the red error message mentioned earlier in the thread. Ensure that Alfred 3 is listed in the macOS preferences under Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and that the box is checked. Ideally, go through the text expansion setup again in case something's missing or macOS is misbehaving. Try creating a brand new snippet and see whether it expands Try setting up a new user account temporarily to see if expansion works normally there As this is a pretty straightforward setup, you might need to spend a bit of time doing your own troubleshooting, as you're the one who has set up your Mac and there may be customisation that don't come to mind in my suggestions.
  23. @IloveComputers82 If rebooting doesn't resolve the issue, can you please try the text expansion in Text Edit (the simplest application possible) and let me know whether: When you type your keyword, does it disappear? If it disappears, do you hear an error beep when you expect the text to paste? Is your Cmd + V hotkey remapped in any way? As @deanishe suggested, are you running any other text expansion apps or keyboard modifiers? Any of these could be interfering. Cheers, Vero
  24. @delputnam Welcome to the forum and happy new year Are you saying you are trying to connect both Macs at the same time to Alfred Remote, or individually? First, it's not possible to connect two Macs concurrently, since Alfred Remote's objective is to control your Mac and actions wouldn't work for multiple devices at the same time (e.g. Open Documents folder, turn the volume up, control iTunes) so you can only connect one Mac at the time. However, you can have more than one Mac set up and available for connection. In other words, both MacBook Pros can be set up one at a time by going to the "Looking for Alfred" and Passphrase stage. You'll see your Connections screen on your iOS device as listing both Macs, and will be able to choose one to connect to, from the list of Macs in white (a non-available device would appear in grey) As I said above, only one Mac will be connected to your iOS device at a time, and you'll see in the top right which device you're connected to: Hope this helps Cheers, Vero
  25. @CheriLasota Just in case Dean's reply wasn't clear enough, syncing isn't the only way to recover preferences. If you have a Time Machine backup of your old Mac, you can locate the preferences in your user directory under ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3/Alfred.alfredpreferences Quit Alfred, copy the entire Alfred.alfredpreferences to the same location on your new Mac, and restart Alfred to use these old preferences. Cheers, Vero
