GamerChase got a reaction from Maverick in ~/Dropbox folder syncing issue [In Progress]
I've been keeping Alfred 2 in sync between my MacBook Pro and Mac mini manually since the v2 beta came out, and was thrilled to see syncing finally come in. However, after fumbling with it for an hour back and forth, I had to delete the syncing folder in Dropbox to make it stop.
Alterations made to the default settings in preferences on one machine (let's say starting with the Mac mini, though this went back and forth several times) would invalidate those alterations on the other machine (let's say the MacBook Pro), essentially resetting it to default preferences, including the deletion of all added themes. Attempts to correct the issue on the MacBook Pro would reset the Mac mini to default prefereces, deleting the added themes again.
Very frustrating. I've since set them both to where they were before manually, and neither of them are syncing with Dropbox.
Love the app, and love the work you guys are doing, though.

GamerChase reacted to jdfwarrior in Show Contact Address in Apple Maps
Quick little Contact Action workflow that will allow you to select a contact's address in the Alfred Contact Viewer and see that address in the Apple Maps app.
Download
You will have to add the custom action. Use the screenshots below to guide you through setting up the contact action..
After the action is set up.. when viewing a contact in the Alfred Contact Viewer, you should be able to select the Contact's address and view it in the Apple Maps application.

I'm particular about my menu bar as well. Have you checked out Bartender to keep it tidy?

GamerChase got a reaction from mercoby in Chrome Bookmark Search Workflow
Actually, I was looking to make it so I could browse a specific folder of bookmarks, but no others. I've adapted David's workflow for my own purposes (imported that folder of bookmarks into Chrome, and load in Safari with the modified keyword), and it does precisely what I wanted. It's here, if you're interested.

GamerChase reacted to Tyler Eich in Provide a hotkey to pin Alfred on top temporarily
I'd never thought of this before, but it's a great idea
Sometimes I know I'll need Alfred for something. I hit Cmd-Space as a reflex, but then I realize I'm not ready to use him; I have to close Alfred, get what I needed, and open him again. Or sometimes I need to look at Alfred while performing another task, but he disappears because he doesn't want to get in my way
It's a small feature, but it could save a few occasional headaches

GamerChase got a reaction from vinh291 in Faves - Formerly Favorite Folders
I had the same problem, but here it is: open Alfred, press "/" without the quotations, then navigate to the folder you want to favourite. Then press the right arrow key and scroll down to "Add to Favorites" and hit Enter.

GamerChase reacted to Andrew in Alfred v2 reset itself
If you still have the Alfred.alfredpreferences, 99% of your settings are in there, so you haven't lost anything.
1. Make sure your Powerpack is still active in Alfred's Powerpack tab
2. Copy Alfred.alfredpreferences to where you would like it
3. Set the sync folder to the folder containing the Alfred.alfredpreferences file
Alfred will restart and everything will be where you left off.
Cheers,
Andrew

Also, I made a simple webs search shortcut for this forum, so I can constantly check out new workflows. A workflow to find new workflows would be pretty awesome.

GamerChase got a reaction from bcometa in Toggle Caffeine
Regarding the clutter in the menu bar, have you seen Bartender? Allows you display only what you want seen on the menu bar, hide some stuff in a toggled bar, and completely hide other stuff (ie. Caffeine). Best of all, it allows for stuff to be displayed temporarily when the icon changes (ie. when Caffeine activates or deactivates).
My menu bar with Bartender bar closed:

GamerChase reacted to Florian in bunch of workflows
Hey guys,
as posts multiply on this forum, I have noticed that it is harder and harder to find specific workflows. So here's a little page with my most downloaded workflows. Some of them are specifically suited for my personal needs but I believe they are overall useful.
http://florianpellet.com/alfred/ (this link doesn't bring you to the most up to date workflows. for that, please refer to my signature on this forum, to my github page or head straight for packal).
I welcome any suggestion, request, idea...
