  1. @pasta Have you tried popping up Alfred's clipboard, doing Cmd + C on the snippet you want, then using the iOS Simulator app's Edit > Paste command? I believe that particular Paste uses the macOS clipboard. If that works, you could try automating that with a workflow. Since the beginning, Alfred has contained as few edge-case "work differently for this app/scenario" modifications as possible. Quite simply, edge cases for individual apps require constant monitoring of the app for any changes, and we'd end up chasing every app with fixes every time the third-party app changes. Part of why Alfred works so smoothly and consistently is that there are as few of these edge-cases as possible built into Alfred. Given our active involvement with the community, we can get a pretty good feel of what features would be beneficial for a sufficient volume of users to warrant investigating an edge case, and I don't think it's the case here. Cheers, Vero
  2. @WilliamGallagher Could you please install the Alfred metadata tool and drag one of your apps to it? https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip If you could please paste the output here so that we can take a look, I'm curious to see whether the file types are correct for your apps. Cheers, Vero
  3. @pasta Welcome to the forum! I see you've met a few of our regulars already *grabs the reins and steers topic back on course* Looks like you've tried a few things already, but what happens when you manually copy something to your macOS clipboard and use Cmd + V to paste it in the iOS simulator? Given you say it's now pasting "V" when trying to expand snippets, it looks like it's trying to pass the Cmd + V through but isn't succeeding. First, you can try slowing down key events in Alfred, in case the iOS simulator is being slow but can receive the paste from the macOS clipboard: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/snippets/#partial Next, take a look at whether you might've changed the default macOS paste hotkey to something else, or use keyboard remapping/hotkey modifying software that could be stopping Alfred's pasting from happening normally. Having said that, it may very well just be a limitation of the iOS Simulator... Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  4. @vorax From Alfred's bowler hat menu, choose "Request macOS Permissions" and ensure that Alfred gains Automation access. This will then allow AppleScript actions, such as telling macOS to lock your Mac, to happen
  5. @vorax As per my reply, take a look at Console.app to see if you get any particular error messages when trying to use the keyword. Are there any? If so, please paste them here so that we can help you further... Cheers, Vero
  6. @needalfredhelp Welcome to the forum! First, which email client do you use? This particular workflow is for Mail.app only, as the workflow is a file filter that searches for com.apple.mail.emlx files in the ~/Library/Mail/ path. If the location or file type is different, this File Filter won't apply. If you do use Mail.app, could you confirm which version of macOS and Alfred you're using? We can then take it from there Cheers, Vero
  7. @vorax Welcome to the forum. Which build of Mojave are you using? And which version of Alfred? Lock should work as expected, so take a look at Console.app to see if you get any particular error messages when trying to use the keyword. More information about permissions needed in Mojave: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/macos-mojave/ Cheers, Vero
  8. @deanishe @dfay As Apple added Full Disk Access in at quite a late stage in the beta, this isn't yet well documented, but it's something we're very aware of and keeping an eye on. To help users understand the permissions in Mojave, we've created an FAQ here that indicates what each permission type is for: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/macos-mojave/ Cheers, Vero
  9. @eightohnine Alfred won't allow multiple instances to be launched, but certain workflows might manually launch the Alfred application. As such, the best place to start is to take a look at the workflows you're using which include scripts that could be launching Alfred. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  10. @WillDon @Wally S Welcome to the forum In addition to what Vitor has already said, keep in mind that we offer the Mega Supporter license precisely for users who like to buy software once and never pay again. You can either choose the Single User license, which is valid for Alfred 3 and where you'll be offered a discounted upgrade to future versions, or opt for the Mega Supporter, which includes free updates to future versions of Alfred for Mac. Cheers, Vero
  11. @jmknoble The "eject" keyword only shows results when there are results to be shown so 1. ensure there is something ejectable either connected or mounted on your Mac, and 2. you've selected the appropriate volume type from the dropdown below the "eject" keyword. Cheers, Vero
  12. @Michael S @MIchiel H With workflows, you can create pretty much any clipboard history paste and dispatching of key combos to move to the next line, etc... Take a look at the documentation on Clipboard History dynamic placeholders here to get started with how to paste multiple clipboard items: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/dynamic-placeholders/#clipboard Cheers, Vero
  13. Items are copied to Alfred's clipboard if: They're not from an ignored app (see Features > Clipboard > Advanced) They're not marked as transient data or ConcealedType by the app (e.g. when passwords are copied from a password app) If LastPass correctly identifies the copied passwords as transient or concealed, they wouldn't be included. Unfortunately, we've sent that info on to them quite a few times and have never heard back. Cheers, Vero
  14. Hi @williamsdb, Welcome to the forum! Make sure you don't have two apps trying to expand, e.g. are you running TextExpander or macOS' own expansion at the same time? To check, change the keyword to something obscure and definitely not in use to see what happens. Cheers, Vero
  15. @morav Alfred's File Navigation (which is the view in your screenshot) is ordered alphabetically, and can't be grouped like Finder's view you shared. In File Navigation mode, start typing the name of the file you're looking for (or prefix it with a star to wildcard it, if you're not sure of the start of the file's name) to filter down to just the relevant files within that folder. In Alfred's default results as well as in File Filters, files will be ordered by relevance (the most recently opened in Alfred and used in macOS). Again, your best bet is to keep typing the name of the file or folder to narrow down the list and make it easy to pick out the file you want Cheers, Vero
  16. @manfredell As @deanishe said, the file type is wrong, so Alfred and Spotlight can't establish what type your files are and whether to include them in the index. Based on the issues you've had with macOS, this is likely to be a deeper issue with indexing and permissions on your Mac. It may be worth doing a fresh install of macOS on your Mac, as you may find that the ramifications of a difficult reinstall will continue to be an issue in apps other than Alfred and Spotlight over time. Cheers, Vero
  17. @manfredell Welcome to the forum. You say that you rebuild the Spotlight, but could you please do so from Alfred's preferences, so that you can check the "Delete /.Spotlight-V100" checkbox when it appears, which ensures that a more thorough reindex occurs to remove any possible corruption. Once you're in Terminal, please take a look at any error messages macOS may be giving you about your index. You should see "indexing enabled" if everything is well. You then need to leave the index to rebuild for up to an hour, so time to go grab a cup of coffee. Once it's done, take a look at Spotlight first to see if your files can be found. Finally, do you use any third-party tools like Onyx or anything else that could be interfering with the normal operation of your Mac's index? You can download the Alfred metadata tool and drag a file you can't find in Spotlight or Alfred, to see what kind of metadata exists for the file: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip If you can please paste the results in your reply, we can take a look at whether the metadata for your files is complete. Cheers, Vero
  18. @geoyil Welcome to the forum With the Mega Supporter license, you can activate on up to four Macs, provided these are for your own use and not shared workstations. As such, you'll have no issues using it on your two Macs. You can even sync your preferences between them using Dropbox: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/advanced/sync/ Cheers, Vero
  19. @FilchesCat @Phuket2 Could you please download the Metadata Tool below and drag some of the apps that aren't showing up for you? I'd be interested in seeing the output to help understand why Alfred and (I assume in both of your cases) Spotlight aren't finding the files. Install this and drag a file/app to it: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Paste the results in your reply and I'll take a look Cheers, Vero
  20. @Ian C. Welcome to the forum Take a look at Features > File Search > Actions where you can re-check the -> arrow for actions. This checkbox isn't automatically re-checked when you disable using <- and -> for folder navigation, as you may not want to use the right arrow for file actions, but you can re-enable actions easily there. Cheers, Vero
  21. @nik1 Welcome to the forum Does Spotlight find the file? If so, is the app itself stored in the Applications folder (not just an alias of it)? Make sure you've followed the steps on the troubleshooting page (https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/), as this almost always provides a solution. If the issue isn't resolved, please install the Alfred Metadata Tool: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Drag the app in, and paste the results so that we can take a further look. Cheers, Vero
  22. @Anderson Welcome to the forum Since 1Password 7 was released, we've had to change the way URLs are launched. Previously, Alfred would provide macOS with a simple URL where some extra characters were appended at the end specific to 1Password. This resulted in macOS opening the URL in the same way as any other. Now, following some changes in 1PW 7, Alfred launches a 1PW-specific URL, which passes the information on to 1Password for launch. As a result, the behaviour from that point onwards is fully within 1PW's control. There have been some quirks and unexpected behaviour with some browsers so I would recommend popping a support request or post on 1Password's forum for further support with this issue, as I'm sure they'll be able to provide you with more detailed support. Cheers, Vero
  23. @wzhan366 That's correct, the Mega Supporter license gives you free updates to Alfred for Mac in the future
  24. @wzhan366 Yes, your snippets are too generic to be useful. Here are some tips to set up good snippets that won't trigger accidentally, yet can be memorable: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#tips-expansion Alfred has accessibility access on your Mac, allowing him to track your keystrokes and auto-expand your snippet when you type the relevant keyword. Of course, this is only active once you enable snippet auto-expansion in Alfred's preferences, and does not see your keystrokes when typing into a secure input field like a password field. If you prefer to browse your snippets to paste them manually, you can disable auto-expansion, and use the Snippets Viewer or Snip keyword instead. The snippets viewer: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#browsing-snippets The "snip" keyword: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#snip-keyword Cheers, Vero
  25. @fredster Your best bet for this is to create a File Filter workflow: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/ Under the Advanced tab of the object, you can specify that the display name and the text content are searched. Click on the + below the big box to add the kMDItemTextContent metadata field. I'll move this to Workflow Help & Questions so you get more eyes on your workflow if you need further help once you've started playing with it! Cheers, Vero
