  1. @sarimabbas A few more questions: * If you open Activity Monitor, can you please check whether there are multiple instances of Alfred? If so, it's likely that a workflow is force-launching a second instance of Alfred, so could you please take a look at your workflows and share any (or at least names of any) that could be telling Alfred to launch, e.g. by script? * If you change the keyword for your snippet, do you get one or more expansions? Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  2. @cthulhu Alfred hasn't been updated to support Dark Mode at this point, so it's not surprising that by hack-forcing Alfred's preferences into Dark Mode, you're seeing unexpected results. Alfred's preferences are vast, so updating them to fully support Dark Mode isn't an insignificant task. We are aware of the interest in Dark Mode, and it will come eventually, so please be patient and use Alfred in its intended mode [default light appearance, even when Dark Mode is selected] until then. Cheers, Vero
  3. @sarumont Alt + Cmd + Z isn't a default hotkey, but it looks like you might be bringing up the previous path. Pop by Features > File Search > Navigation and check the Previous Path shortcut. Otherwise, take a look at any workflows you might've created that use the hotkey combo. Click on the cog in the top left and choose "Show hotkeys" to show what hotkey combos are used for your workflows at a glance. Cheers, Vero
  4. Make sure you've checked the "Automatically paste to front most app" Cheers, Vero
  5. @jlfenaux @gul-iMac Alfred passes the date handling to macOS, and has no knowledge of the localised name for days. This is why you're seeing the same issue in DevonThink and TextExpander. Could you please let me know which version of macOS you're using? This appears to be a bug in Mojave, as I can see the same issue (non-localised days) on our Mojave Mac but the days are localised as expected on an older OS. Cheers, Vero
  6. @OmarKN Yes, the workflow requires that Evernote is installed locally as it can't interact with the website version. Is there any reason you'd want to download Evernote 6? I strongly encourage you to download Evernote 7 and the most recent version of the workflow under the "Download Evernote 9 beta 3" header, rather than the older version. You can grab the latest version of Evernote from this page: https://evernote.com/download Cheers, Vero
  7. @mr_charlie We've tested this on both an upgraded and a new install of Mojave, and this is working as expected. Could you please temporarily create a new user account on your Mac to see what behaviour you get on the new user account? Cheers, Vero
  8. @Stratocumulus If you drop a normal, indexed app as a comparison, you'll see how much metadata is expected about an application; It contains information about the name, the location, the content types it belongs to, and so on. You can try opening Spotlight's Privacy tab, dragging the app to it, waiting 30 seconds, dragging it back out, waiting again, then dragging it in again, which should have forced macOS to reindex the app and hopefully populate its metadata. If that doesn't happen, your best bet to get around the lack of data for that file is to create a tiny workflow connecting a keyword to an Open File. Set the keyword to the app's name, and drag in the app to be opened. Cheers, Vero
  9. @Stratocumulus Install Alfred's Metadata tool and drag the DaVinci app that isn't being found: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip If you prefix your search with the keyword "open" in Alfred, is the other app returned in the results? Cheers, Vero
  10. @remyvdp1 In Alfred's preferences, under Features > iTunes > Advanced, is the checkbox for "Predictability" checked? If so, can you see an Alfred Playlist being created in iTunes when you start playing an album? This is how Alfred can tell iTunes it wants to play the full album, so if you've unchecked it, you may find only the first song is playing. Also, please check that Random track isn't enabled in iTunes itself for better predictability Cheers, Vero
  11. @mr_charlie It's not possible to see from your cropped video whether macOS actually switches to Finder in the top left. It may very well be switching to Finder, but if there are no open Finder windows, it may not appear to be doing anything else. Otherwise, if you open Console.app while doing this, do you see any error messages relating to Alfred or Finder? Cheers, Vero
  12. @surya Please contact us on our info@ email address - or simply hit reply on your existing license email - with any queries relating to licenses, and we'll be happy to help you out Cheers, Vero
  13. Hi @shortbread I've tested this on Mojave, and the behaviour is as expected (toggling to show and hide), so I'd suggest creating a temporary user account on your Mac where Karabiner and any hotkey modifiers aren't running, to confirm that you're seeing the normal behaviour. Cheers, Vero
  14. With Alfred? With Spotlight? Please be as descriptive as you can so we don't get crossed wires If you can already find files in GDFS with Alfred, but only folders aren't being returned, can you clarify how you're searching in Alfred? (Ideally, post a couple of screenshots of your Default and File Search settings in Alfred.) Also, could you please install the Metadata tool and drag a folder to it? This will allow us to check that the metadata for a folder correctly identifies it as a folder to macOS. https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Cheers, Vero
  15. @zenona As far as we are aware, Google Drive File Stream was previously not indexable by macOS, as explained by Google team members here: Since then, their change log has shown that GDFS can now be indexed, but we haven't had first-hand confirmation from users: As such, I'm not 100% sure whether macOS indexing support was added reliably yet. Can Spotlight find your files? (Make sure they definitely are the copies on GDFS and not a red herring elsewhere on your Mac). If so, please reply and we'll take it from there. Cheers, Vero
  16. Haha, keep in mind, // has to be followed directly by no space and the precise snippet, so // itself will never trigger anything. (And to be fair, my French collection only contains about 10 snippets, otherwise I might've picked something different). My daily-use Alfred support snippets collection doesn't need affixees, and the snippet keywords themselves are suitably obscure, yet extremely easy to type because they get constant use! Cheers, Vero
  17. @IloveComputers82 When you say you "tried putting the backed up preferences in the dropbox", how did you do this? Please ensure you're not manually moving preferences files, otherwise there's a good likelihood something will go amiss. The first step is to work out whether your snippets preferences file is complete. The best way to do this is for you to email me a copy of your full Alfred.alfredpreferences file on our info@ address, provided you're happy sharing this with me. I'll then confirm that your snippets collections are there. Please provide any additional screenshots to clarify what you're seeing in the preferences. Are all of your preferences being reset to defaults? We can then work out what setup steps may have be missing on your Macs specifically, as snippets don't disappear without manual intervention or the preferences being moved or removed from the location Alfred expects. Cheers, Vero
  18. Thanks everyone for your insight into why you're suggesting this. I'll be upfront and say it's highly unlikely we'd implement something like this, as there's very little benefit. As @deanishe suggested, best practice is to use snippets that will never be triggered accidentally - regardless of your current keyboard language. I frequently switch between French and English, and have snippet collections for the various purposes. However, I always make sure my snippets are obscure enough to never be triggered accidentally. If you're not familiar with them, do take a look at the affixes; Setting a collection-wide prefix is a convenient way of creating new snippets without having to make sure you're manually being consistent about your prefixes: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/collections/ e.g. A few of my English collections use :: as prefix, while my French collection uses // as prefix. @nikivi You can use the Snippets viewer to do pretty much exactly what you've described. Pop up the Clipboard using its hotkey (or set a Snippet Viewer hotkey) and either navigate into a Snippet Collection, or simply start typing the title or keyword of a snippet. You'll see the full snippet on the right, and the keyword at the bottom to remind you of precisely what the snippet keyword is for next time. Cheers, Vero
  19. Hi @b_d_m_p, download Alfred's Metadata tool here, and drag one of your apps to it. Paste the results so we can take a look at how macOS is classifying them. https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Cheers, Vero
  20. @Que_ Type "system" into Alfred to show the System Preferences... Don't hesitate to try things out first Cheers, Vero
  21. The workflow @deanishe suggests is wonderfully simple, and a great place to start - you'll see workflows aren't scary at all Go to the Workflows tab, click the [+] at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Templates > Files and Apps > Launch File Group from Keyword. Give it a name, and click "Create" Double-click the keyword and set it to "anaconda", and give it the title "Launch Anaconda" for example. Save that. Double-click the "Launch Apps" object. Drag in your Anaconda application, and hit save. Now just pop up Alfred and use the newly created keyword to launch the app! Well done, you've created your first workflow. Cheers, Vero
  22. Hi @wyudong and welcome to the forum. There is already a discussion on this topic in the thread linked below, so I'll be locking this thread to avoid duplicating discussions. Please reply in the other thread and let me know whether apps like Safari, Contacts, etc (built-in apps, rather than third-party ones) are showing icons or not. Cheers, Vero
  23. @manavortex @Ovi What kind of modification do you have in mind when wanting to change text in the item you've copied to clipboard? To be clear, we have no intention of adding a text editor to Alfred to edit arbitrary text before pasting, but there may be some clever ways you can do what you want with a workflow or snippet. For example, if you have text that you want to paste with a few repeated changes every time (e.g. change someone's name, the price of something, etc), that could be achieved using a dynamic placeholder in a snippet. It's a much more efficient way and predictable way to paste something with specific elements changed every time. If that's what you have in mind, take a look at the built-in workflow Getting Started > Snippet Triggers to see them in action. You'll also find a tutorial on using Snippet Triggers with dynamic content here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/snippet/snippet-triggers-with-dynamic-inputs/ If you have something else in mind, do share, as there may very well be ways to do it already Cheers, Vero
  24. @selfmade69 When you say "The clipboard is still not working", what does and doesn't get copied? For Clipboard Merge to work, there already has to be content in your clipboard. At what point did the issue arise? If the above don't give you any hints as to what could be happening on your Mac, you can quit Alfred, navigate to your user directory under ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3/Databases/ and delete the clipboard.alfdb file. This will delete the clipboard database, and remove any potential corruption. Let me know how you get on! Cheers, Vero
  25. @nikivi Grab the Alfred Metadata tool here and drag some of your .ts and .js files to work out what their file types are: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Paste the results so we can see what file types are listed in the metadata, and whether that's why they're returned. Next, copy just the File Filter object from your workflow, set a new keyword, and try using just that object (let's say, with a Reveal in Finder action added to the end)? Removing all your scripts that surrounds it will ensure results down to exclusively what the File Filter is returning, rather than anything that's then passed through scripts. Cheers, Vero
