Vero got a reaction from drking in v2.0.2 released
Just a quick note to say that 2.0.2 is now available, if you choose pre-releases in Alfred's General preferences tab.

As this is a pre-release, please only select this if you want to help us test and understand that this isn't a final release. If you're happy with that, then go ahead and give v2.0.2 a whirl to help us prepare it for general release.

You'll find the change log details here:
    http://www.alfredapp.com/changelog/

Be sure to specify you're using 2.0.2 if you report a bug/issue!

[update: Now generally available, no longer just pre-release]

    Lee, Matt, Rick, Bill -

In addition to what Andrew has already said above, here's the kind of feedback we have received from this quantifiable "vast majority" of users who have upgraded from v1 over the past few days:
@alfredapp I spent the entire evening installing and setting up my new v2. I mean that in a good way. Love the workflows! I love the new @alfredapp 2.0. Very sleek and the possibilities of workflows keeps me awake at night trying to think of cool things to do. workflow feature from @alfredapp is just absolutely mind blowing ! with all these workflow, it make @alfredapp amazing and way more than simply find apps and files, but almost everything you can thing about @alfredapp 2.0 is fantastic! The new Workflows feature is awesome beyond belief!! installed @alfredapp version 2… like it. and the new workflow… endless creativity. great update guys @alfredapp V2 is brilliant. Was scared about update. But V2 is still KISS yet highly customisable. You kept the spirit. #standingovation. I was not sure whether is upgrading to @alfredapp 2 really worth the money, but then I saw workflows in action.. #infinitepossibilities Upgraded my @alfredapp license for v2 about ten minutes after learning it was available. Workflows are truly the final piece of the puzzle! I understand your disappointment. I absolutely appreciate that you value your time, and that you find it difficult to swallow that v2 is different enough to warrant the investment of time it takes to upgrade your existing workflows. I wish I could convey the extent to which both Andrew and I take each and every piece of feedback at heart, and this isn't a decision we took lightly.

I'd really appreciate if we could move on from this now, as Andrew and I really need to start focusing on improving Alfred v2, just as v1 grew and improved. Thanks guys.

Vero got a reaction from Tyler Eich in AlfPT - Alfred Package Tools (Workflow Installer/Updater)
Hi Shawn, that's exactly what I'm going to do. To save everyone having to read through the whole thread, I'll update the first post and reiterate, then lock this thread so this post is last.

    Summary:
AlfPT was a wonderful idea by an Alfred user, Tom Hunt, to create a way for workflows to be updated and gathered in one place. However, Tom has decided to take the project offline (due to school/work commitments and the bandwidth requirements of that project). As such, documentation in this thread is now outdated.

    Here's what's coming soon:
    - Other users are working on their own repositories for workflows
    - We are working on an official v2 Extras site, which will include curated workflows (which we've tested and checked) and themes

We'll also be publishing a few blog posts with our favourite and your favourite workflows very soon, so keep an eye on the blog for the links to the above!

Thought I should share this workflow to search Mail.app

Use the following keywords to search:
emfrom to search the sender's name and email address em for a general subject + content search emsubj to search specifically for a subject line
You can download it here. Enjoy!

This version is suitable for both Alfred 3 and Alfred 4.

Compatible with macOS versions up to Mojave.  Unfortunately, due to some changes made by Apple in macOS Catalina, it's no longer possible for third-party apps to access your Mail data. This may change in the future, but currently, using this workflow in Catalina or Big Sur will not return any results.

We have just released v2.0.1, which provides an in-app way to import almost all of your settings - and explains why your workflows and themes need to be manually migrated.

You can either download it from the homepage (http://www.alfredapp.com/#download) or you can update in-app from the General prefs tab. When you update to v2.0.1, you'll see an "Import settings" button on the General tab. You can select which setting groups you'd like to import, and web searches & clipboard snippets will respect any items you've already manually created in v2.

Here's the applescript snippet that will get you most of the way there:

on alfred_script(theFilePath) set theFile to theFilePath as POSIX file tell application "Mail" -- get a list of all mail message windows set theMessageList to every outgoing message -- either select the front most mail window or create one if none exist if length of theMessageList is greater than 0 then set theMessage to item 1 of theMessageList else set theMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true} end if -- add the file to the message tell content of theMessage make new attachment with properties {file name:theFile as alias} at after last paragraph end tell end tell end alfred_script
I hooked this up after a file action and it will either append a file to an existing message or create a new message with the file if no messages exist. The applescript currently doesn't take multiple files, but you could modify it to do so by parsing the resulting tab-delimited string from the file action. One issue I can't figure out (and don't have time) is that when I run this within the applescript editor, it will correctly append a second or third attachment to an existing message. In Alfred, it seems to replace the existing attachment. Hope this gets you on your way, though.

Just a little heads-up to let you know that you can now change the colour of the selected text and the selected background. This means that rather than having the OS colour, you can make it match your theme.

To edit these two colours, hold the Fn key and click the Alfred input field to edit either the text or the background colour.

We've just released b119 and spent most of the afternoon getting ridiculously excited over the latest additions. You can now create hotkey and keyword based iTunes actions.

    These include:
Hotkey to start playing a random album and post the details of it to Notification Centre Rate track as ★★★★★ and post to Notification Centre Clear the rating And my favourite... "currenttrack" keyword to show what song's playing at the moment Update to b119 and you can create your own too

This is absolutely possible - You'll just need to use a Script Filter as your first item instead of Keyword, and then write a script to grab which is the active output and print the appropriate XML to display the info in the subtitle.

Seriously though, if there was a most dedicated developer of the year award it would go to you and Vero, not even a close runner-up. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to Alfred and it's users. We truly appreciate all the time you put in to development and support no matter how much we "moan" for this and that!
