Vero got a reaction from functionalStoic in Week number snippet
@vinster Take a look at this page for details of LDML formatting:
    http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr35/tr35-31/tr35-dates.html#Date_Format_Patterns

It'll allow you to create more flexible date snippets than the default dynamic placeholders:

Vero got a reaction from Skone in File filter workflow not filtering correctly
@Skone It looks like you've got a few things using the same "b" keyword (e.g. your bookmarks seem to be set to "b" as keyword too) so you'll be getting more results than you anticipate.

You have a few options here:
    - Try setting your keyword to "bp" for Brand Pack to be a little more specific
    - Press return on your file filter's result before typing the rest (the result with the description "Brand pack search") to tell Alfred that you specifically want to enter that workflow's results
    - Add a hotkey to your workflow to trigger your File Filter

I've just published a post on the Alfred blog with four extensions; Google searches, Paste as Plain Text, Should I watch this movie and Open folders in TextMate.

These are good starting points to help you discover some of the simpler, a-minute-and-you're-done extensions I've been regularly using. I'll share many more over the next few days

@Sam Michel As a heads-up alongside Vítor's response (for you and anyone else who comes across this thread), every workflow object has a question mark icon in the configuration, which will take you to the documentation for that specific object  This is the best starting point for insight on configuring that particular workflow object!

@rob213 The text your arrows are pointing at is built-in text to teach you how to use the Search above, it's not user-customisable text

Vero got a reaction from RipRyness in Workflows in v4 disappeared in v5
@RipRyness If you open Alfred's preferences to the Advanced tab, you can point the sync folder to the location of your Alfred 4 preferences. This is normally set during migration, but if you skipped this step, you can set it in the Advanced prefs

Let me know if you need any further help with this!

Vero got a reaction from GatorMapi in Yet another date calculator
@face This is due to macOS removing Python 2 from Monterey 12.3. You can read more about it here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/guides-and-tutorials/python-2-workflows-on-macos-monterey-12-3/

Once you've reinstalled Python 2, grab the updated version of this workflow here:

Vero got a reaction from devalias in Multiple keywords for a single script filter
@Jasondm007 Given that the original post is over four years old, workflows have evolved significantly since.

In Alfred 3, you could add multiple keyword objects before your script filter, one for each keyword. Set them to "No argument" and you'll then be able to hit Enter to launch your script filter. It requires one more press of the Enter key, but may suit your needs

However, given the example from the original post using "w" and "wiki", these aren't necessary, as you can just type "w" and press the Tab key when the Wiki workflow is selected, and Alfred will auto-complete the keyword "wiki", ready for you to type your search term.

    Cheers,

Vero got a reaction from robbchadwick in Best way to install Alfred 5
@robbchadwick In addition to what @vitor has said, just a quick note: We advise against using app cleaners to remove old Alfred versions, as these can be over-zealous and delete essential files for the current version of Alfred. As Vítor suggested, just drag Alfred 4 to Trash when you're done.

@AndroidKitKat If you can locate your VM apps, you can drag them into the Spotlight Privacy folder. Once you've done that, type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the app cache, and your VM apps will no longer show up in your results.

Vero got a reaction from Quadratic Circle in Migration from Alfred 4 to 5
@Quadratic Circle (This is both for your benefit and anyone else coming across this thread later on, as it sounds like you're all sorted now)

If you enter your Alfred 5 Powerpack license when the Migration Assistant pops up when you first install Alfred 5, your sync location should be carried through.

If you Skip setup e.g. if you don't yet have your v5 license handy, you can enter your license in the Powerpack tab later on, but will then need to pick your sync folder manually in the Advanced preferences

    Enjoy Alfred 5!

Without intending to sound sycophantic, I just wanted to thank Andrew (and Vero) for, not only the development and release of Alfred 5 (which is a significant, and much appreciated, step forward), but the constant, considerate and always responsive support provided on these forums.

It's because of the continuing development and the support here that I am intensely loyal to Alfred.

    Thank you.

Vero got a reaction from Alan He in Clipboard Manager should have possibility to remove entry from history
@Sane You can clear your entire clipboard history by typing "clear" in Alfred's main search box and choosing whether you want to erase the last 5 minutes, 15 minutes or all of Alfred's history.

Alternatively, you can clear single items with Fn (Function key) + Delete (backspace key).

Vero got a reaction from active1 in Alfred 5 Sneak Peek - Take a look at what's coming in Alfred 5 :)
In that case, you can create a workflow starting with a Snippet Trigger, and adding a Dispatch Key Combo before the next bit of pasted text. This is particularly useful in that you can also use a short Delay utility if needed before the next piece of text is pasted, in case the app / site you're using is a little slow. Ensures you get good results every time

Start a new thread in the Workflows Help & Questions section if you need a hand.

We're planning an Alfred workflow gallery, to which creators will be able to contribute their own workflows.

The project has been in the works for some time but, as a small team, we've prioritised getting a fantastic Alfred 5 release out first.  Once Alfred 5 has launched and users are happily up and running with the new features, we'll be working on an official site for Alfred workflows, as a separate project to v5.

Our aim is to create a safe and organised platform, which is easily searchable and browsable.

This may warrant creating a separate thread to this one, but if you let us know what features you're looking for, we may be able to help you achieve it with Workflows and a Snippet Trigger. There's so much flexibility in using Snippet Triggers, there's a good likelihood what you're looking for is already possible

Vero got a reaction from GatorMapi in Wolfram|Alpha workflow
@pavelle A quick look at the 2017 post by @Jay S shows the workflow uses PHP, which Apple removed from macOS Monterey. You can read more about it here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/releases/alfred-4-6-ready-for-macos-monterey/

Odds are reinstalling PHP via Homebrew will get you some of the way there, but the workflow doesn't appear to be maintained so if Wolfram Alpha itself has changed in the past 5 years, these changes won't be reflected in the workflow.

If you use node.js, there's another Wolfram workflow here:
    https://www.npmjs.com/package/alfred-wolfram-alpha
