@JJJJ Hi, thanks for the kind words!

I just pushed an update that should fix that problem. Try release 1.1.5?

This one quickly became one of my personal drivers, since it speeds up search so much.

Relies on a few hacks, so I don't know whether it'd be something for the Alfred Gallery. But at the very least, I wanted to share it here.

    Features
Inline Search Results, similar to Spotlight on iOS. Works without a keyword. Results are always shown alongside your other keywords. Multi-Selection of URLs to open. Global Search Hotkey: Search for terms, open URLs, write mails, etc. Add link to selected text: Turns selected text into a Markdown link.

You can! By default, the workflow only displays CPU and memory if the values above a threshold to reduce noise. But if you want to always see them, you can just set the respective settings to 0:

Update (2022-09-13): Alfred 5 Workflow configuration is now supported. So is eta-template as citation syntax.
Update (2022-05-20): Now also works with Multi-Markdown, and Latex citation syntax. Wikilinks and tags are supported as well.

    ---

This is a citation picker for academics that write in markdown. I am proud to say that this is the most performant and most feature-rich citation picker that I know of! 💪

Inserts Pandoc Citation Syntax ("[@citekey]") by default (Can be be changed to LaTeX, MMD, Wikilinks, tags, or eta templates). Works with page numbers & multiple citations. works systemwide, in case you also work in another Markdown app. smart search: search for citekeys, authors, title, publication, keywords (tags), include/exclude authors in et al, tab-completion, ... feature-rich: paste single-entry bibliographies, remove entries from your library without opening a reference management app, open URLs, open or create literature notes, search for .csl files online... Obsidian integration: When located in an Obsidian vault, literature notes will automatically be opened/created in Obsidian. (Otherwise, they will be opened in the default app for markdown files.) blazingly fast: considerably quicker than other citation pickers (~200ms to fully reload a library with ~4000 entries on my machine)  easy setup: no dependencies, no required plugins, no complicated setup. Just enter the path to your .bib file and you are good to go.

    Alfred's alphabet 🔤
A dictionary of your Alfred shortcuts

    Download

    Background
You can launch Alfred Workflows using single letters (either alone, or with a prefix, or as hotkeys with modifiers). Specifically:
    1. single-letter keyword (e.g. m used for m query)
    2. prefix + single letter keyword (e.g. k used with a prefix (!, -> !k) to search your Kindle library using alfred-kindle)
    3. hotkey (a letter plus one or more of the modifier keys:
    Shift (⇧) Control (^) Option (⌥) Command (⌘)
Alfred's Alphabet    allows to review single-letter shortcuts in a single dictionary application, to check which letters are used, which are available, and which ones are conflicting with system-wide shortcuts.

    Browsing Alfred's Alphabet
    - launch with keyword (default: aalpha), or custom hotkey
    - scroll results or enter a single letter to filter. The first output is an overview with one circle per keyword/hotkey.
    - ⚪: unused prefix/hotkey modifier
    - 🟠: prefix/hotkey modifier used for Alfred Workflow
    - 🔴: used prefix/hotkey modifier, conflicting with one of the custom/system-wide shortcuts
    - Circles are grouped in blocks as follows:
        1. no prefix (i.e. single-letter keyword)
        2. prefix block (if any): if any letter prefixes have been entered in Workflow configuration, they will be represented in this block (one circle per prefix)
        3. 1-key modifier keys in this order (block of 4): shift, control, option, command
        4. 2-key modifier keys:
            - block of 3: sht-ctl, sht-opt, `sht-cmd
            - block of 2: ctl-opt, ctl-cmd
            - block of 1: opt-cmd
        5. 3-key modifier keys (block of 3): sht-ctl-opt, sht-ctl-cmd, ctl-opt-cmd,
        6. 4-key modifier (block of 1): sht-ctl-opt-cmd
    - ctrl-enter ^↩️ will show the overview in large font
    - enter ↩️ will list the workflows using that letter
    - further pressing enter ↩️ will open the config page of the corresponding Workflow.

    Saving custom hotkeys
By entering :aalpha you can open a csv file with custom hotkeys.
Enter your own, using for the modifier key one of the abbreviations listed above.
A few examples are listed as demo in the default file.

Want to add one FR follow-on to this thread:

It would be a nice quality of life addition if, when triggering Alfred to open his Preferences by typing Cmd⌘+comma, he would open directly to whichever workflow was responsible for generating the selected result.

For example, if I have a workflow with a script filter that generates a list of recently copied images, it would be excellent if pressing ⌘+, would jump right into that workflow's editor, with the script filter object highlighted.

    Hi everyone,

I am excited to submit the "Spell Chacker" workflow for Alfred. Workflow allows you to quickly check the spelling of selected text (US English). By selecting the desired text and pressing the configured hotkey, the workflow sends a request to the Ginger Software API to retrieve spelling corrections. The corrected text is then replaced with the original selected text.

I am the original author, and the source code and other informations can be found on GitHub at: https://github.com/svenko99/alfred-spell-checker

    Submission Requirements:
    - It doesn't have auto-updates - as requested
    - It doesn't include any binaries or other libraries, use only python 3 standard library
    - All instructions are written in English
    - A large-enough icon is included

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi there!
I am happy to share my recently created workflow, Alfred Homebrew.

Download from here to try it out!
What it does is basically show you a list of homebrew casks and formulas via the `cask` and `brew` keywords.
After tab completion of the selected item or typing the full name, it will show you the details.

Hope you guys will find this useful, and I greatly appreciate any feedback!

Among frequent terminal users, the nerdfonts are becoming increasingly popular since they add icons to an application that otherwise does not support images.

I was thinking, that they might also be a great addition for Alfred, too. They are an easy way to add icons to your workflows or web searches. While it is possible to use a nerdfont via Alfred theme settings, this has the disadvantage that this only works for your own device (i.e. not usable for workflows you publish for others), and in the Alfred UI those nerdfonts are still question-mark-boxes or linestracks (), making it hard to use them really.

What some terminal emulators like WezTerm do is adding the nerdfont icons as a fallback symbol font, meaning that if the user uses a font that does not include the nerdfont icons, it automatically falls back to the symbol font. That way, users can still use their preferred font, don't have to fiddle with patching a font file, and still get nice icons. (css font stacks work the same way, if I remember correctly.) I think a similar approach could also make sense for Alfred.

See here an example where I am using a nerd font to display some icons in Alfred:

Hoping to get Supercharged Citation Picker in soon.

By the way, I noticed you use the ObjC.unwrap pattern often. There is a shorter alternative: appending .js. Meaning ObjC.unwrap(str) is the same as str.js. That has absolutely no bearing on the submission, just something you might like to know.

+1 from me (to nobody’s surprise).

I would definitely love to see some more options for Alfred’s filtering. Fuzzy, OR, AND, and perhaps XOR (which is generally unintuitive, but sometimes useful).

Fuzzy search, in particular, allows users to train Alfred to adapt to the way they think/work. The way filtering currently works, I rather have the feeling that I’m learning to adapt my queries to what suits Alfred.

pseudometa reacted to Binarynomad in Feature Request: Weighted Results & Fuzzy Searches
I'm a happy paid user of Alfred but lately I've feeling lots of friction and really missing 2 missing features I relied upon extensively when I was a Quicksilver user and have been really trying to make it work in Alfred are Weighted Results & Fuzzy Searches.

Weighted Results:  I made extensive use of the feature that allowed you to "train" the searches to float more common results to the top on subsequent searches.  For example, if I typed the name of a folder like "Receipts", I might get 20 results of folders, but the one I wanted was 15th on the list.  If I clicked on it, the next time I searched, it would be the 3rd, and if I clicked on it again, it would be the 1st result when I typed the same search term.    This allowed Quicksilver to adjust itself to my needs for specific search terms and get to know what I wanted, which in turn made my work much easier/faster.

Fuzzy Searches: (note: this is only in regard to the file/folder Alfred already does a method of fuzzy searching on the initial query, but once it switches to the file tree mode, it only searches based on the letters at the beginning on the folder names.  For example, if I typed "Bills" and ended up in ~/Dropbox/Bills and now I see a folder called "ATT-Wireless", I cannot type "wire" to filter to just folder, I would have to type "ATT"

I'd like to open up a feature request to have "Fuzzy" matching as one of result filtering options that Alfred handles. This would improve some of my workflows quite a bit. This can be achieved by running other script based tools or implementing the search within your own script, but it would make things easier, if it was already built into Alfred.

After starting Obsidian, click the "?" button in the bottom left and then open the sandbox vault.
