  1. @Kamil Do you use light mode in the day and dark mode at night, automatically switching in macOS? If so, the solution I suggested is the right one. If you arbitrarily want the theme to change, without relation to macOS Light/Dark mode, you could use the Switch Appearance workflow and trigger it manually, or use an external trigger to switch at a time that suits your needs: https://alfred.app/workflows/alfredapp/switch-appearance/
  2. @evanfuchs Could you please try dragging some of the files to the File Troubleshooter to see what metadata is available? Take a look here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ When you search in Alfred prefixing your search term with the spacebar, do you see the results you're looking for?
  3. @AlexeyL If you're unable to find files in Alfred, your best bet is to first take a look at the Indexing Troubleshooting tool: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ You can drag in a few files and find out whether they're correctly indexed - If they're not, Alfred will guide you on how to resolve the issue. If you can't work it out, please share the output from the troubleshooter for at least a couple of files so that we can help you further Cheers, Vero
  4. @Kamil When your Mac is in light mode, choose a theme and it'll be used when your Mac is in light mode. Do the same when your Mac is in dark mode, and Alfred will use that one for Dark mode
  5. @ddoern Alfred's features are ever-evolving so videos would quickly refer to features that have already changed. You can see an animation of text expansion in the link I provided earlier, as well as screenshots of the configuration of snippets a little higher up the page under the Creating your own Snippets header. Workflows as a whole are intended to work with as little manual scripting as possible; We've created entire workflows without a line of code, many of which you'll be able to discover on the official Gallery once you grab your Powerpack license
  6. @ddoern Welcome to the forum In answer to your questions, we don't offer a Powerpack trial, but you can use the core version of Alfred for free for as long as you'd like with no strings attached. The Powerpack features have a star * next to them in the At a Glance section here: https://www.alfredapp.com/#ataglance Alternatively, you can look at the Powerpack features in more details here: https://www.alfredapp.com/powerpack/ The Clipboard History and Snippets Text Expansion are two great features that you can adopt instantly - You'll find more details about Snippets here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#expansion As for the website, it looks like you must have JavaScript disabled; In order to keep our small team from being snowed under with spam, the email address is displayed using JavaScript. Our forum community is very welcoming so if you have specific questions about Alfred's features, don't hesitate to ask. Cheers, Vero
  7. Apologies, I had misread your original post, I thought you were having indexing issues resulting in you not seeing files in Alfred when you should. If I understand your question correctly, you want to use Spotlight instead of Alfred as soon as you type 4 letters or more? That's not possible, but you can use a hotkey modifier so that [modifier] + Return launches a Finder search, so that you can switch to a Finder search at any time. You can set this in Alfred's Advanced preferences tab on the right where you'll see three Action Modifier dropdowns. Cheers, Vero
  8. @AuspiringMind I think that the best way to clear up this issue is to first delete all versions of Alfred on your Mac, including Alfred 5. Make sure that no version of Alfred is running on your Mac (you can check this with Activity Monitor, which will show you all running apps and processes). Next, open macOS System Preferences to General > Login Items, and remove Alfred 4 and any older version from the Open at Login list. Now you can install Alfred 5 from https://www.alfredapp.com with the knowledge that no older version is running on your Mac. As an aside, I can see that you're using an uninstaller app in your video; Please keep in mind that Alfred 4 & 5 use the same preferences location, so don't run an uninstaller or cleaner app, as it could remove files essential to Alfred 5. Let us know how you get on.
  9. @luciano Could you please provide a link to the workflow you're using so that we can take a look?
  10. @brunns Thanks for the update - Moved to Discussion & Help in case it's helpful to another DisplayLink user in the future
  11. @brunns Reiterating Andrew's question, what display setup do you have? Are you using window management / menu bar / task bar tools? If that's the case, could you please quit these (and possibly restart your Mac if they're running helpers in the background) to check on a standard configuration? For what it's worth, I'm using three displays currently on macOS 14.3 and Alfred is showing in the correct location.
  12. @godbout This may be tricky to troubleshoot, as this is working smoothly across the board at the moment, so there'll be something specific happening on your Mac causing the issues you're seeing. This may be obvious but please ensure you're up to date for both Alfred, the workflow, your preferred browser, 1PW8 and their browser plugin just in case there's a mismatch somewhere along the way. Have you reported the issues you're seeing to the 1Password team?
  13. @MM00 Is it only Downloads that are not showing or a broader indexing issue on your Mac as a whole? While this is a macOS issue, usually using Alfred to trigger a reindex resolves indexing issues, so I'm not sure what to suggest for your Mac. As you mentioned, files aren't showing in Apple's own Spotlight, so once you can get it working in Spotlight, Alfred will also work as expected. You may want to seek out Apple's help, but they'll likely recommend a reinstall - If you do this, I'd advise against using Time Machine or Migration Assistant to re-copy your files across to the freshly installed OS as you may transfer any permissions issues with it.
  14. @drdan Welcome to the forum - I've merged your post with the thread above, as Andrew highlighted that Apple have made some changes that have broken Recent Documents. We're on the case
  15. @MM00 If you launch Spotlight and search for the file you originally referred to, can you find it? And if you close the Alfred reindexing window, and take a look at the File Troubleshooter when dragging the file in, what metadata information do you get?
  16. @canadaduane First, could you please update to the latest version of Alfred? You're currently using a version of Alfred from April last year Next, if you haven't already done so, you can set Automation Tasks to be automatically updated, which means you'll never have to manually update them again: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/automations/automation-task/#update
  17. @MM00 Could you be more specific? Do you get any error messages in Terminal? Keep in mind that this metadata index is managed by macOS, not by Alfred. You say that the issue started yesterday, did you just upgrade to Sonoma or make any other meaningful changes to macOS?
  18. @SvenConnelly Welcome to the forum If you feel your question is relevant to the question above, add it here - If it isn't, we'll help and separate the conversation into a new thread if necessary.
  19. @AuspiringMind Could you please confirm whether you're using Alfred 4 on both Macs, as well as the version of macOS on each Mac?
  20. @bucweat Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ email address. If I recall correctly, the above was resolved by reinstalling, as a Time Machine / Migration Assistant transfer had muddled up permissions more generally on the Mac. Could you let us know which version of macOS you're using? when the issue started? (as I can see you've been using Alfred for nearly a decade ) whether you transferred your Mac data from a previous install either via Time Machine or Migration Assistant? whether only your theme is affected or all Alfred preferences reset to defaults on restart? This will help us point you in the right direction.
  21. @Al Yb Welcome to the forum. We don't offer a trial for the Powerpack features, and are focusing development time on creating the best software and features possible, so that users can confidently know that Alfred's Powerpack is going to make them vastly more productive. We offer the free version of Alfred to allow users to familiarise themselves, and an affordably priced Single User license. Of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask and we'll be happy to help! Cheers, Vero
  22. @universe To search for workflow objects in the Palette, use the / followed by the name of the object or prefab you want to add. If you hold ⌥ (Option/Alt) key while dragging in a new object or when pressing return to add it from the sidebar, they'll be auto-connected. You can find out more about the Palette Search and how to quickly add and connect objects on the Workflow canvas here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/getting-started/editor-and-palette/#palette The Palette has been designed to add to the canvas and position the object correctly, which wouldn't be possible via the Help menu or by searching Alfred. Cheers, Vero
  23. Having now taken a look at @OmarKN's Diagnostics file, I could see he was using an older build of Alfred from before {isodate} was added to the dynamic placeholders. Updating to the current Alfred 5.1.4 will likely take care of the issue.
  24. @Slajerek I will assume that when you say Spotify, you mean Spotlight the built-in macOS search? Could that be correct? If you're searching for apps (for example) that should definitely be present on your Mac and aren't showing when typing the name in Alfred, it's likely that your Mac's metadata needs to be rebuilt so that results are returned in search. Please follow the steps on the Indexing page, and let me know how you get on (with as much detail as possible so that we can help you further): https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/
  25. @OmarKN Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ address. Please also export and attach: The snippet collection that includes the one you created to test dynamic text expansion as suggested by Stephen_C earlier, and attach this to your email so that I can take a look at anything unusual in the snippets. The workflow you're using as it currently stands, with any changes you've made to it. I'll then be able to take a look and see if anything stands out. (Please note that as it's Friday afternoon, it may take until Monday until I'm able to review this, so thanks in advance for your patience )
