  1. @Gautam Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins (Andrew and I) and allows us to confirm you're a Powerpack user, given your feature suggestion is specific to the Powerpack. Cheers, Vero
  2. @georgexsh This is a macOS shortcoming, which you would experience as well if you were to type "dict://hello" into Safari; MacOS doesn't change to the appropriate Space in that situation either. Resolving this is not as simple as Alfred launching the command to define the word, followed by bringing Dictionary to come into focus, as some users may be using the "dict://" URL scheme to launch a different dictionary application from the default macOS one. In that case, launching the word definition (in their chosen app) then bringing Dictionary into focus would create unwanted, confusing behaviour. Having said that, you can easily replace the "define" keyword with a small workflow that opens the "dict://{query}" in your default Dictionary, followed by an object launching the Dictionary app (which should bring you to the right Space if it's already launched). You can then disable the default "define" keyword in Features > Dictionary. I'm moving this to Discussion & Help, so let us know if you need any help creating the workflow described above Cheers, Vero
  3. @pontus While adding Notes as a built-in searchable feature has been on the cards for a long time, Apple constantly change the Notes data (e.g. used to be individual files, now is a single file in High Sierra) and its location. This makes it difficult for us to provide a reliable, stable feature to users on all OS versions when Apple keeps moving the goalposts. As such, it'll most likely always remain something that's searched via workflows, unless Apple starts to offer a public API we can rely on. Cheers, Vero
  4. @jerman885 @altryne In case you hadn't noticed, the solution provided as a workflow here is by @Andrew (the creator of Alfred). As such, if the "lock" command is fixed in Alfred itself - which is likely to be the case - it would be identical to the workflow (but built into Alfred behind the scenes), so the most expedient way to resolve this for now is to replace the default "lock" keyword with Andrew's workflow Cheers, Vero
  5. @AllDave Welcome to the forum! Could you please let me know which version of Alfred you're using? I have a vague recollection that this may have been the case in a very early version of Alfred, but certainly isn't an issue in Alfred 3. Please download Alfred 3 from https://www.alfredapp.com for the latest version Cheers, Vero
  6. @DastardlyBacon Thanks for adding your details in How are you adding the action? I'm assuming that you're right-clicking the existing keyword and choosing "Insert After"? The "Insert After" is specifically there to add a new object in-line within a set of existing connected objects. You can right-click anywhere to show the list of objects, and choose the action you want to add. You can then manually connect it yourself as you see fit for your own workflow, by grabbing the handle at the end of the first object and dragging it to the left handle of the second object Cheers, Vero
  7. @DastardlyBacon Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to the forum admins (Andrew and myself) and allows us to confirm your Powerpack status. We'll then be happy to help you further. Also, could you please let me know which version of Alfred you're currently using? Cheers, Vero
  8. @AndyD Welcome to the forum! Please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins (Andrew and I) and allows us to confirm your Powerpack status Cheers, Vero
  9. @georgexsh There's unfortunately not enough information to really establish why macOS isn't fully ejecting the external disk as it should. I left the discussion there in the hope some other users may be able to provide more insight. We haven't had any other reports of this kind of issue from other users, and we are unable to replicate the issue, so this area of the forum may be the best one for you to potentially get fellow users popping in with some ideas of why you might be seeing this specifically on your Mac. Cheers, Vero
  10. @politicus I've re-read your description a few times and I think you may be misunderstanding the feature. Auto-paste simply means that when you select an item in your clipboard and press Return, the item is pasted right away to your frontmost application rather than just being copied back to your current clipboard. You still need to select the clipboard item. You seem to be confusing Clipboard Merge (where Cmd + C on the first item, and Cmd + C + C on the second item results in the second item being merged with the first one) and Auto-Paste when pressing the Return key. Once you've used Alt + Tab to change the focused app, you'll need to select the clipboard content to paste. Cheers, Vero
  11. @deanishe Yes, some of the documentation could definitely do with more granular linking; Let me have some coffee and I'll aim to add a few extra anchors to that page specifically. If any other pages are tricky for you to link to, let me know and I'll take a look. My plan is to review documentation generally in the new year to look for any subtle changes in macOS or in Alfred that might need to be reflected, so I'll include reviewing anchors as part of this. Cheers, Vero
  12. @Jason_xiao1 Before taking part in any further discussions relating to Powerpack features, please enter your Powerpack email address in your forum profile. Cheers, Vero
  13. @tullyhansen You can also use a star as wildcard to match partial words, e.g. "*pet" will match "Snippet" Cheers, Vero
  14. @lightheaded Have you reported the crash to Evernote? This isn't an Alfred crash, and only seems to affect a small number of users, so your best bet is to drop the Evernote support team a line. Check that you're using the right version of Evernote (from their website, not the App Store) and the latest version of the workflow (v9 beta 2), as most users (myself included) have been using the workflow without any crashes or odd behaviour. Cheers, Vero
  15. @runard Are you looking to type one keyword and have multiple URLs open (either static URLs or adding your search term to it)? If so, look in Alfred's built-in examples for "Should I watch this movie?" This example is set up for you to use one keyword to launch IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and YouTube with the keyword you want to search for. Cheers, Vero
  16. @hipyhop Welcome to the forum! Please make sure you search the forum before creating a new post, as this is a very active community, so you'll often find that things like this are already discussed somewhere. For example, this issue is discussed here, and Andrew provided a workflow-based solution for the time being. Cheers, Vero
  17. @Jason_xiao Welcome to the forum. Before taking part in Powerpack-related discussions, please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile. This is only visible to admins and allows us to confirm your Powerpack status. Cheers, Vero
  18. @Heydomdom Thanks for filling in your details Pop an email to info@ for license-related questions and we'll be happy to help you out. With regards to your original question, take a look at these few examples depending on the outcome you want: If your queries are always the same (e.g. always the same four stock symbols) Connect one keyword to four "Open URL" objects, with each one pre-filled with one of the stock symbols. You can then type the keyword and press Enter, and all four pages will open. Entering multiple queries separately: Take a look at the built-in workflow in Alfred, under the + button in the bottom left > Examples > Simple To-Do List. In that workflow, I'm using two variables; The first is typed (the task I want to do) and the second is picked from a List Filter (the list to which I want to add it), each of which is saved in an Arg & Vars utility, then called later in the "Append to file" object to form the name of the list to which I want to add the task. @Andrew's going to share his own example for splitting a query into four as well, as another way to do it. If you then start creating your own workflow and need further help, add it to this thread and fellow users can help you get it completed Cheers, Vero
  19. @Heydomdom Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins (Andrew and myself) and allows us to confirm your Powerpack status first. We'll then be happy to help you out with your question. Cheers, Vero
  20. @Jack Vaughan Welcome to the forum. If you're using Google File Stream, another forum user @able asked the Google Suite support about indexing, and below was their answer: "Unfortunately currently the File stream does't fully support Spotlight. The files for File stream are not stored in a separate File Stream cache which can't be indexed by Spotlight. There are some reports that if you reinstall the File stream it will work for a while but this is not an officially supported feature yet. There is an existing feature idea from the Cloud connect portal. You can vote for it as well and I hope that more options are added in future updates https://www.cloudconnect.goog/ideas/11068. I was checking for that as well but currently there are no reported workarounds besides reinstalling the app which is reported to work in some cases. I could't see any settings you can change to make this work" As such, if you're using File Stream, these files won't be indexed until Google Drive provide macOS with a way to do this. You can follow the link in their post to add your vote to request it. Cheers, Vero [Edit: Looks like @vitor beat me to the reply ]
  21. @ae6dx You can pop up Alfred, paste in the path, then use the right arrow to show File Actions and Reveal in Finder. You can then simply drag it to the Accessibility window. You may have to first type in your user account password, if the lock is closed at the bottom of the Accessibility window. Cheers, Vero
  22. @si7 As far as I can tell, Google Chrome updated in the background and got itself into a muddle, failing to open URLs given to it by macOS and other apps. Hopefully it's a one-off and doesn't occur in future Chrome updates, but it's unrelated to Alfred. It just so happens that Alfred tends to be the first app users launch a URL or web search from. Cheers, Vero
  23. @si7 Are you using Google Chrome? If so, you'll need to restart Chrome. It looks like over the past few days, Chrome has updated in the background for users, and won't open new URLs (when clicked from anywhere, not just Alfred.) until it's restarted. Cheers, Vero
  24. @Ryan As suggested by Vitor, to do this, use the keywords "define" to check the definition of a word and hit Enter to open it in Dictionary. Similarly, use the keyword "spell" to confirm the spelling of a word, and hit Enter to copy the correct spelling to your clipboard. Cheers, Vero
