I have made the update and even included colour coding as you had (though not the same colours). It will be available to update from the Gallery shortly.

Vero got a reaction from zkarj in Can I omit certain applications?
@zkarj A little tip to follow on from Stephen's suggestion - Type "reload" into Alfred once you've added the alfred:ignore so that Alfred's app cache is refreshed instantly

Another way to exclude apps is to drag them into Spotlight's Privacy tab. Again, type "reload" into Alfred if the app still appears in your results after adding it.

Paste as plain texts gets used every day. And has since was introduced in Alfred. Thanks @Vero

I also launch and hide a apps with hotkeys with Launch/Apps and Files. I have a moom script tied to a few to help me setup specific workspaces for different projects and arrange windows.

I also built universal actions for text transformations using Copy to Clipboard Output. I used some specific ones almost every day and i’ve found the dynamic placeholders and some automation tasks work just as well as the some of the more built out workflows for my needs.

I also have a bunch of file filters setup for specific searches that help keep me nimble.

I also try to use alfred’s file navigation over the finder as much as possible, so I have a number of regular file paths setup in a list filter (thanks @Stephen_C) and some assigned to hotkeys.

I have a few custom scripts that I trigger with alfred for very specific needs (adding tasks to taskpaper projects, pulling mix notes from pro tools sessions to text files, and logging some of my daily tasks with toggl and brett terpstra’s doing.

And Some off the shelf workflows from the gallery I love (so much  @vitor

    Window Switcher
Yak Saver (i modified mine to cycle like a pomodoro timer — added a timer for the breaks. I also have mine yell profanities at me when my timers are up)
    Soulver (so many powerful conversions)
    Right Click
    Pin Plus
    Open Conference URL
    Moom

    **EDIT**
adding Coffee Coffee which is not yet in the gallery, but i use whenever i am printing long mixes or running long chronosync backups and don't want my machine to sleep. It gets used almost everyday.

One thing i’ve found helpful is using a hyper key (remapping capslok to trigger (shift, control, option and command). I use Karabiner Elements to do this but there are other pieces of software that will do it. I’ve found using a hyperkey has helped me avoid hot-key conflicts.

Can't wait to see what everyone's favourites are...

TinyPNG by @vitor : I use this one many times a day via a Universal Action to compress images.

I have a bunch of File Filters set up for various folders on my Mac, whether it's art/personal projects, Alfred stuff, etc... They're a great time saver once you set a scope and a few file types.

Yak Saver: I like using a pomodoro-like workflow to get me to focus on one project for 20 minutes, then take a break and so on.

Paste as plain text from hotkey is the simplest of tasks, but invaluable.

It's not the size of the workflow, it's what you do with it that matters!

Vero got a reaction from bytesmiths in Snippets keywords strangeness with Monterey (12.6.3) installed via OpenCore Legacy Patcher
@bytesmiths Normally, when a user isn't able to expand snippets or paste from clipboard but the features appear enabled in Alfred's preferences, it's because of broken Accessibility permissions.

You'll need to grant permissions here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#integration

If they already appear to have been previously granted, follow the steps to clear and re-grant them, as these most likely became corrupted during your upgrade:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#regrant

This comes with the caveat that you're updating / maintaining your Mac in non-standard ways, so it's possible that your issues with permissions are coming from this.

Reference international paper formats via the keywords:
paperiso: International Standard (ISO 216) Paper Formats. paperna: North American Paper Formats. paperjis: Japanese B-series Variant Paper Formats. paperansi: ANSI Paper Formats. paperarch: Architectural Paper Formats.

Keywords can be customised in the Workflow’s Configuration, as well as the sizes (millimetres or inches) to copy when pressing ↩ (default format) or ⌥↩ (alternative format).

@robdbirch Go to Alfred's preferences, under Appearance > Options (bottom left), you can set "Show Alfred on..." and choose from the dropdown menu either default screen, mouse screen or active screen.

Set it to your preferred one for the behaviour you'd like

Vero got a reaction from Rad in Evernote workflow working on Ventura
If you're referring to the latest version of Evernote, this is written in Electron, a cross-platform software framework that makes it easier for companies to write one app and distribute it to Mac, Windows, etc... all at once. Unfortunately, a side-effect of no longer having a Mac-specific app is that it's no longer possible to search Evernote in the same way as before.

We've sent our feedback to Evernote, but you may want to do the same, letting them know you'd like them to support indexing/search on Mac.

Vero got a reaction from Alan He in workflow object note save not work
@Alan He Thanks for the additional details.

First, could you please open your Dropbox preferences and ensure the folder you're using for Alfred's preferences is set to always be available locally? If it's possible for Dropbox to make the preferences online-only, Alfred will lose access to them, resulting in unexpected behaviour.

Once you've done this and Dropbox shows that the files are stored locally, try changing your note again and seeing if the issue is resolved.

If it isn't, you can temporarily change your sync location (e.g. create a new "Alfred" folder in your user directory) so that the sync service is taken out of the equation for now. Are you now able to save changes?

If you are now able to save changes, I would suggest creating a new folder in Dropbox, set it to be always available offline first, then set this as your sync folder.

Let me know how you get on

This is the first workflow I'm sharing. It is very similar the magic 8-ball workflow in the gallery, but instead prompts the user with Oblique Strategies by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt.

The Oblique Strategies are prompts to inspire creativity by providing a suggestion or inspiring a new way of thinking.

I'm new to github and have followed the instructions on the alfred site. I hope i have done it correctly. I'd love any feedback before submitting to the gallery.

Use the keyword "obl" to be prompted with a new "card."

The "card" will be shown in large type.

Vero got a reaction from Binyamino in Github workflows- how to implement them in Alfred
    @Binyamino Welcome to the forum

A good place to start with workflows is the official Gallery where you'll find workflows that have been reviewed and are ideal for newbies as we've ensured they have a good readme, configuration is made as easy as possible, etc.

    https://alfred.app

To use Gallery workflows, click the "Install in Alfred" button.

As for Github workflows, you'll find a little variation in how different creators present their pages:
Some will include an obvious download link in the readme, which you can click to download the .alfredworkflow file In other cases, you'll need to click the "Releases" link in the right side of the page to see the latest release and grab the workflow there Once the .alfredworkflow file is in your Downloads, double-click it and Alfred's preferences will launch to the Workflows tab and offer to import the workflow.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. We've got a really friendly community here who'll be happy to help.

@PreemoIt's a tricky question as we don't know either what workflow you're referring to, or which ones you've already come across. That's most likely why you haven't had any replies so far. A quick look online finds quite a few Chrome bookmarks workflows 🤔

Are you always opening the same 5 static links? If so, you could create a workflow with one keyword that opens all links, like the one in this example.

Vero got a reaction from MichaelD in How to add "SEARCH in FINDER" option to fallback searches?
@s95hc8 There's an even simpler way to search using Finder (Spotlight's Finder search); Go to Alfred's Advanced preferences, and have a look at the three options below the Action Modifier in the right column.

Alt + Return should be set to "Search with Spotlight" by default, but you can use any of these modifiers, so that you can simply hit Alt + Return on your query to launch Finder with the relevant search.

@jamesd7856 It appears @Stephen_C is right on with that link, but just to confirm - it's normal that the main Alfred hotkey, the currently selected theme, as well as the checkboxes for features like Clipboard History are *not* migrated, as these are set on a per-Mac basis. (e.g. you may want a different theme at home and at work)

You'll also need to activate your Powerpack license individually on the new Mac, but you should then be up and running
