Chris Messina reacted to Egor Iskrenkov in Shortcuts Runner
Just created a small workflow for macOS Monterey users to quickly run Shortcuts from the new app. It's built using Ruby, as it's installed in macOS by default - there shouldn't be any issues. It also requires `shortcuts` executable to be available in system.

    GitHub Repo - https://github.com/eiskrenkov/alfred-run-shortcut

You can download the latest "alfred-run-shortcut.alfredworkflow" file from Releases Page

Chris Messina reacted to Mr Pennyworth in Add CSV export to List Filters
In the meanwhile, if you insist on CSV instead of excel sheets, here's a workflow for you: https://github.com/mr-pennyworth/alfred-lf2csv

    Example setup:
    1) set hotkey to cmd+option+c

    2) in the workflow editor, select the list filter you want to export as csv

    3) press the hotkey (cmd+option+c), alfred should have a CSV file ready to be dragged-and-dropped

The theme changer is from @AlexMartinFR. I still want to work with him to update what he has to support more themes.

My intention is to fork @AlexMartinFR's Mojave Alfred Accented Themes workflow to make it possible to change Alfred's theme from command palette. I looked into this process and it's more involved than I had hoped due to the obscurity of Apple's APIs for changing both the system appearance (easier) and the AppleHighlightColor (hard). If anyone wants to help me with this, let me know!

@archelium (and anyone else who finds this thread from now on) We've created a page explaining what's happening and how workflow creators can update their workflows to no longer use Python 2 in a future update:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/monterey-alfred-4-python-2-popup/

In short, you can click "Ok" and you shouldn't see the notice again. We've tested and it doesn't re-appear after you restart your Mac, so is currently just a one-time notice that workflows you're using are using a deprecated version of Python.

    Cheers,
    Vero

Chris Messina reacted to Vero in "Alfred 4" needs to be updated
@Chris Messina We've created a page to let users know what's happening; In short, and much as you and @deanishe have deduced, this is a notification from macOS that a workflow uses Python 2. Clicking "OK" makes it go away, the workflows work and you shouldn't be notified again.

As this notification is being shown outside of Alfred, and somewhat opaquely by macOS, Alfred can't treat this scenario in the same way he does with PHP (which is essentially a missing binary). If python was missing altogether, you'd see the same kind of dialog you see with PHP. In all likelihood, we will add a warning dialog closer to the time this becomes a larger issue, but for now, click "OK" once and continue as usual.

    Cheers,
    Vero

    Welcome @LSDog,

Packal’s development ceased years ago and has been officially recommended against for just as long (and for that reason). Note that website was always a third-party resource. The official venue to share Workflows is these forums.

Alfred itself is alive and well and under active development. Similarly, new Workflows are created and released all the time. Further yet, there are plenty of other third-party venues to share Workflows, such as Alfred’s subreddit and Pacmax. If you need any of Packal’s Workflows, they should still be accessible from the GitHub repo it used. Though I’ll reinforce these forums are the official place to share Workflows.

    Hi folks,

Indeed; I can't imagine there is any significant technical hurdle here. One of our Apple developers commented on the subject:

I'm afraid I don't know exactly when we'll be able to work on this, but we love Alfred (I've got a Legendary Supporter Powerpack license) and it is definitely on the radar.

It's not that I insist on it, it's the only import format that Alfred natively supports (unless you're able to write code). I'm just trying to work within the limitations of the app.

Thanks, I'll check out your workflow!

Update: Cool, the Workflow works great! I think the biggest issue now is that Alfred doesn't persist the icons, which is an essential aspect of my New Cloud Documents workflow (the one I'm trying to update). Seems like Alfred should offer a more robust JSON import/export, including image assets (perhaps serialized)...

You'll need to obtain Chirp yourself, since I can't distribute the font. I, did, however, include variants of the themes that will use the GT America Trial font (which is what Chirp is based on) if it's installed. You can download GT America Trial here.

Chris Messina reacted to deanishe in MarkdownTransform — Convert Markdown to other formats
You might be better off with a link-specific workflow. Most Markdown converters are aimed at larger blocks of text and correspondingly wrap their output in block tags.

I mean, the workflow has no way of knowing if you've selected a completely standalone link or a link somewhere in the middle of a document, so it can't really know whether to wrap its output in <p> tags or not.

That way, you can also have a better link representation, too.

This is the code I use to generate links to messages in MailMate:

    https://github.com/deanishe/CopyLink.mmBundle/blob/master/Support/bin/copylink

Apart from no block tags in the HTML and no explicit formatting in the RTF representation, it also puts the URL (and page title) on the clipboard, so you can also run things like Alfred's Universal Actions for URLs against it.

    Update.

Set correct pasteboard type for HTML.

To update, download the latest version (same URL) or wait a few days and it’ll prompt you to on next usage, since it uses OneUpdater.

This is in the works, much more granular control over what gets shown in universal actions, including per-workflow suppressing of keyword/script filter inclusion when universal action triggers have been implemented.

Chris Messina reacted to paulw in Sharing some useful simple Universal Action
@Chris Messina I think what's showing up are not the 5 different case change universal actions, but the placeholder title for the three keyword script filters ("cc", "change", "case") that you created in your edit of the workflow. I guess you're stuck with those unless script filters can exclude themselves as actions for specific file types (can they?)

Chris Messina got a reaction from dfay in Sharing some useful simple Universal Action
@Andrew seeing some unexpected behavior here:
I invoked my UA hotkey on an .mp4 and yet was able to access Case Converter UAs even though their type was set to only apply to Text.² Only three UAs from @dfay's Workflow show up, even though five should appear.¹ All of the UA titles are the same, but I expect them to use the block's title (i.e. "Upper Case", "Lower Case", etc). Am I missing something about how UAs work?
