    Get it from Packal (Recommended)

    Quick Summary:
This workflow can process and convert all CSS color formats and several Objective-C formats, namely NSColor (calibrated and device) and UIColor. It also provides an interface to the OS X color panel for easier color manipulations.

It's written in native code (i.e. it's really fast).

Tyler Eich reacted to Ahti333 in Workflow Feedback Icons as HTTP URLs
Right now, workflow feedback can only point to icons that are accessible via the local file system.

It would be very nice if workflows could put icons from HTTP URLs into feedback without downloading them (synchronously) themselves.

So, for example, a workflow that searches for movies via some API could pass cover URLs that the API returns with the search results as feedback icons and display those.

The advantage of Alfred downloading the icons instead of the workflow is that:
    1) Alfred can download the icons asynchronously, so the user can action an item even before the icon is loaded. The UI keeps responsive, which is very important
    2) Alfred knows more about what icons are currently visible, and which are not, so Alfred could only load the visible icons to save bandwidth, and load others as the user scrolls

I created an account specifically to thank you, and the others that helped add the color picker code, for this workflow. It by far the most useful workflow I have installed. As a developer, I will use this multiple times a day. Thanks again for your efforts.

Tyler Eich reacted to Vero in AlfPT - Alfred Package Tools (Workflow Installer/Updater)
Hi Shawn, that's exactly what I'm going to do. To save everyone having to read through the whole thread, I'll update the first post and reiterate, then lock this thread so this post is last.

    Summary:
AlfPT was a wonderful idea by an Alfred user, Tom Hunt, to create a way for workflows to be updated and gathered in one place. However, Tom has decided to take the project offline (due to school/work commitments and the bandwidth requirements of that project). As such, documentation in this thread is now outdated.

    Here's what's coming soon:
    - Other users are working on their own repositories for workflows
    - We are working on an official v2 Extras site, which will include curated workflows (which we've tested and checked) and themes

We'll also be publishing a few blog posts with our favourite and your favourite workflows very soon, so keep an eye on the blog for the links to the above!

This is a fantastic workflow! Has the potential to replace a bunch of others e.g. currency conversion, weather etc.

Is it possible to wait a very short amount of time after the last keystroke before string is submitted to wolfram? It seems to submit as soon as I start typing, but without allowing me to finish typing (even when typing pretty fast). This means that I waste time waiting for the results to come back from (obviously) unfinished queries before it gets to submitting the finished query. Try a currency conversion like "10USD in GBP" to see what I mean.

Ideally it would only submit if there haven't been any keystrokes in, say, the last 0.25 seconds.

It looks like your Growl is set to use Notification Center instead of a normal theme. One solution: disable Growl's use of Notification Center and use a normal Growl theme (my favorite is Mono by Christopher Lobay—http://beautifulpixels.com/macintosh/mono-growl-theme/).
If you want a better way to include Growl in NC, try Bark (http://barkplug.in/). I forget which apps use NC and which ones use Growl because Bark does such a good job integrating the two. Plus, you can decide which apps you want to appear in NC and which apps you want to use a normal Growl style for (like Alfred )

I wanted an easy way to compress files from Alfred, so I wrote a quick workflow to do it.

It can compress a single file or folder to .ZIP, .TAR.GZ, .TAR.BZ2, and .DMG archive formats. Support for multiple files/folders may be added later, if I can figure it out

Any and all feedback is welcome. Enjoy

One of the biggest oversights I think OS X has is the lack of a hotkey to quickly archive (zip) files. With Alfred I'm able to create this using AppleScript and a hotkey trigger.

I've created a workflow that uses both a Hotkey ( cmd + shift + \ ) and a Keyword ( zip ) to compress the selected files or folders into a zip. It's stupidly simple to modify.

Ah gotcha. So.. this has come up in the past in different ways. We've got a note to explore other ways to accomplish things like this. Several people have wanted to throttle the XML output, delay until typing has stopped, not execute at every typed character, etc.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

Tyler Eich got a reaction from JoeyBloggs in How to open a folder path with a hotkey?
Workflows are Alfred's new and improved way of handling everything v1 could do (and more). Check out this workflow I threw together. It wires a hotkey to a 'Reveal in Finder' action; the Hotkey feeds '~' to the action, so Finder opens your home folder.

It also has a second hotkey that you can set up to browse the folder using Alfred.

Let me know if you need help, and enjoy Alfred 2
