  1. @wzhan366 That's correct, the Mega Supporter license gives you free updates to Alfred for Mac in the future
  2. @wzhan366 Yes, your snippets are too generic to be useful. Here are some tips to set up good snippets that won't trigger accidentally, yet can be memorable: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#tips-expansion Alfred has accessibility access on your Mac, allowing him to track your keystrokes and auto-expand your snippet when you type the relevant keyword. Of course, this is only active once you enable snippet auto-expansion in Alfred's preferences, and does not see your keystrokes when typing into a secure input field like a password field. If you prefer to browse your snippets to paste them manually, you can disable auto-expansion, and use the Snippets Viewer or Snip keyword instead. The snippets viewer: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#browsing-snippets The "snip" keyword: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#snip-keyword Cheers, Vero
  3. @fredster Your best bet for this is to create a File Filter workflow: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/ Under the Advanced tab of the object, you can specify that the display name and the text content are searched. Click on the + below the big box to add the kMDItemTextContent metadata field. I'll move this to Workflow Help & Questions so you get more eyes on your workflow if you need further help once you've started playing with it! Cheers, Vero
  4. @alfredappuser Alfred doesn't launch two instances of himself, so you must have a workflow that is specifically forcing a second instance of Alfred to be launched. Please take a look at the workflows you have, especially those using scripts, to establish which one causes this. Once you've worked that out, the issue shouldn't occur again. Cheers, Vero
  5. @Jamie Welcome to the forum! Before asking workflow-related questions, please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile. This is only visible to admins and allows us to confirm your Powerpack user status. Cheers, Vero
  6. Hi @Edias and welcome to the forum. Alfred's licensing is not tied to macOS versions, but rather to Alfred's own versions. You can find out more about license types here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/powerpack/license-types/ In short, if you choose to buy a Single User license, you'll be able to carry on using Alfred 3 on Mojave. Cheers, Vero
  7. @mts As an alternative, if iMazing was an app you wanted to be able to find, but didn't want it to appear above iBooks, you could've selected iBooks a few times for the keyword you wanted. Alfred learns from your usage, and will put the result you've selected before to the top of the search results It is a bit naughty of iMazing to put so many keywords in, but Apple do the same with some of their apps (e.g. iTunes has at least a dozen additional keywords in the metadata) so removing it from the results will keep your results cleaner. Cheers, Vero
  8. You can change Alfred's Fallback Searches easily as a Powerpack user. Take a look at the tutorial here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/default-results/fallback-searches/ Cheers, Vero
  9. @netwonder Welcome to the forum. Could you please take a look at Console.app and see what error messages might be appearing relating to these commands? Do any of the system commands work? If so, which are the commands that aren't working? Also, try restarting your Mac if you haven't already done so. Cheers, Vero
  10. @donmc I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about what you want to achieve with this - as it's likely to be possible. For example, would you always be opening the same secure note? Or would this be changing dynamically and need to be selected from your 1PW vault? For the former, it should be possible to work out the ID of the note and open it from a workflow. Would the URL and spreadsheet also remain the same or need to be selected dynamically? Cheers, Vero
  11. @alfredappuser Given the number of apps and tools you're running, it's likely that there is some interference from a third-party app, which means that the focus isn't taken by the correct app - or at least not quickly enough for the paste to happen normally. First, go to Alfred's preferences > Appearance > Options (bottom left) > Focusing: Set the focusing to Compatibility Mode. This makes Alfred's window operate slightly different, which can help with a scenario like this. If the issue you're seeing doesn't improve, try creating a new user account temporarily on your Mac, and see whether you experience the behaviour you've described with none of the other apps running. If everything works as expected, you can then start narrowing down which of the apps on your usual user account could be causing the interference. Let us know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  12. Hi @timlockridge and welcome to the forum Usually when Cmd + Space doesn't appear to respond as expected, it's because of one of the reasons highlighted here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/cmd-space/ In particular, take a look at your System Preferences > Siri, and disable the "Hold the Command key" option, in case you're holding the Cmd key and your Mac thinks you're calling up Siri. Cheers, Vero
  13. @mac98aop I've made it so you can use it as-is, and should work great for the use you described, so don't worry if you don't feel like fiddling with it any further Cheers, Vero
  14. @mac98aop Take a look at the workflow's objects, then duplicate them and modify them to your own needs... For example, the "emfrom" object searches Authors and Email addresses. You could add/remove Metadata fields to customise the search, and add content too. Now, if you prefer to split the queries, e.g. email from Jonny, THEN say what content to search for, here's a more advanced workflow, which dynamically configures the file filter. With this workflow, first type the name of your sender and press Return. Next, type the content you want to search for to filter your search results. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bht1bypqnaavmtd/Search Email by Author then Content.alfredworkflow?dl=0 This two-part workflow uses a JSON object in the middle to dynamically set the sender in the File Filter. I've also had a chat with @Andrew, as this has given us ideas on how to improve and simplify multi-argument searches for the future So you can look forward to even simpler ways of creating workflows like this one. Don't hesitate to modify this workflow and play with it to suit your own needs, and let us know how you get on! Cheers, Vero
  15. @mac98aop I created a Mail.app workflow that I still use a lot. It's very simple, but might suit your needs too You can search by author, subject line, content, etc... Of course, you could create your own keywords to search for combinations thereof, or for other available metadata Cheers, Vero
  16. @EricCartman This is unusual, as Dropbox folders are like any other folders on your Mac, provided they're not set up to use Smart Sync. You'll need to do a bit of troubleshooting on your own Mac, as this isn't a known issue. For example... Try creating a new folder in Dropbox. Is this folder found? Try creating a new folder on your Desktop, is it found? Try changing the name of your folder? Do you see numerous results for the keyword "scan" and this result might just be further down the list than what's visible? Provide a screenshot of your Default Results Alfred prefs and the exact path of the folder you're searching for Which version of Alfred and macOS are you using? Also, you can install the Alfred Metadata Tool and drag the folder in to see whether the folder has appropriate metadata to be found: https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip Cheers, Vero
  17. @EricCartman There are two things I would encourage you to check: Dropbox have relatively recently added a Smart Sync feature (for business and family users at least) which lists a file without storing it locally on your Mac. Make sure that any files you want to find locally are stored locally: https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/smart-sync Open Spotlight's Privacy tab, drag in your Scan folder (or the whole Dropbox folder if you think the issue might apply to more than just that folder), wait 30 seconds. Drag the folder out, wait another 30 seconds. Dragging to Spotlight Privacy and back out is like a targetted reindex of just those files, and 30 seconds should gives macOS sufficient time to refresh its index for those folders and files. Try searching again and let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  18. @Ovi Thanks for confirming it works on a new account. My earlier suggestion did not involve reinstalling Alfred, but rather following these steps: 1. Disable text expansion in Alfred's Features > Snippets preferences 2. Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and remove Alfred Text Service 3. Go back to Alfred, enable text expansion, and follow the setup process again (which will re-add Alfred Text Service to the Accessibility prefs) This allows the permissions to be set once again, which may be sufficient to tell the newly upgraded macOS that you give Accessibility access to Alfred Text Service. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  19. As Andrew said, there are plans for the future of Remote, however, because it's been such a stable, bug-free app, there's been no need for a release. Many companies put out updates almost weekly, purely because they're fixing bugs constantly. Alfred Remote gets new actions and objects added via Alfred itself, so the Remote app doesn't need to be updated. Taking a look at your details (visible to admins only), it doesn't appear that you're a Powerpack user; This is the first step to taking advantage of Remote! You can then trigger your own workflows and do so much more with your Remote. If you are a Powerpack user, please fill in your details in your forum profile, and we'll be able to suggest some more ways you can take advantage of Remote. Cheers, Vero
  20. @Ovi Given you've upgraded to Mojave rather than done a fresh install, I would encourage you to disable "Automatically expand snippets by keyword" and remove Alfred Text Service from the Accessibility preferences, then set it up from fresh again. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  21. @Ovi Welcome to the forum. Could you please also provide screenshots of your Alfred Snippets preferences? Could you also help me understand at what stage it doesn't work as expected for you? 1. Is expansion set up properly on your Mac? E.g. did you check all appropriate boxes in Alfred's preferences? - Enable "Automatically expand snippets by keyword" - Create a snippet with a keyword within a collection and check the box next to it to auto-expand 2. Using TextEdit, when you type your keyword, does the keyword disappear but your snippet doesn't appear? Do you hear the text expansion sound? An error sound? 3. Have you changed the default Cmd + V hotkey away from pasting? Or do you have any third-party keyboard modifiers or another snippet/hotkey app that could be interfering? If you could please provide more details than "it doesn't work", I'll be able to help you out, as we've thoroughly tested this feature on Mojave and it works as expected Cheers, Vero
  22. @PAUL R FONTENOT I've had a look at your workflow, and it appears you're using two completely independent features relating to Remote, which are 1. The Remote Trigger, and 2. A bundled Remote page. 1. You've created a workflow with a Remote Trigger; This one works perfectly when added correctly. To add it, create a new Remote page, or find an empty space in an existing one. Click and choose Workflow Triggers > Remotely launch multiple files > Remote Launch to add that object to your Remote as shown in the screenshot below. This icon will then trigger your workflow, you'll see the Notification Centre notification and hear the sound. I've tested this and it works as expected. 2. Your Remote page The page you've created includes all the individual files, which can be useful if your intention is to launch the individual files sometimes, but will not achieve what you're looking for as far as triggering them all at once. This feature is primarily used when users create pre-defined full pages of triggers (e.g. the Spotify Mini Player's creator provides a full page of workflow triggers). If you have no interest in launching them individually, you can remove the page from your workflow. Cheers, Vero
  23. @PAUL R FONTENOT Please do not post titles all in capitals, or with wildly unnecessary colourful text. Plain black text and non-capitalised titles makes it far easier to read, and more pleasant for fellow users. With regards to your workflow query, this is not an issue with Alfred, but will be an issue with your workflow specifically. As instructed by @deanishe previously, if you have an issue with a workflow, please post a link to the workflow itself (you can host it on Dropbox and link to it in your post) so that we can help you further. Quoting from the Reporting Problems with Workflow intro thread: Cheers, Vero
  24. @mrk On top of @deanishe's fair assessment of the downsides of iCloud, there's the added issue of Apple bringing in "Optimised Storage" where iCloud decides which files you need locally, and which should be stored in the cloud for future use. You can read up on disabling Optimised Storage here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207236 While we don't recommend iCloud, if you absolutely want to use it, make sure that you 1. Disable Optimised Storage and 2. Keep local backups so that if iCloud fails, you can revert to your most recent backup. Cheers, Vero
  25. @Rickw Glad you were able to get to the bottom of it. I'll mark this thread as solved. Cheers, Vero
