    @toughToes Welcome to the forum

You can save a clipboard entry as a snippet by showing the Clipboard Viewer, selecting the clipboard item you want and pressing Cmd + S.

Hi Laurent, launch Alfred's preferences to Appearance > Options and you'll be able to set Alfred to appear on default screen, mouse screen or, if you're using OS X 10.9 Mavericks, on the active screen (where your current active app is). It's all in there

Vero got a reaction from derBingle in Alphabetize the Features section in the preferences?
@derBingle Rather than manually go to the preferences to find your Snippets, just type "?snip" and press return to be taken directly to the Snippets preferences.

You can do this for any feature, and any workflow, etc in Alfred. You can also type "?keywords" for a list of your keywords or "?hotkeys" for a list of your hotkeys.

More info on using the question mark trick here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/search-alfred-question-mark-trick/

Features are organised very intentionally by level of importance, grouping search related features (default search results, web searches, file search/actions) together, followed by built-in features like Bookmarks, Clipboard, Snippets, and onto simpler features like Calc and Dictionary, and finally third-party integration with 1Password and more minor preferences relating to System commands, Terminal, etc...

Putting 1Password or Calculator above the primary Default Search results wouldn't make sense just for the sake of alphabetisation

Vero got a reaction from kimillian in How to use Alfred to create functions?
@kimillian Do you need to see the output in Alfred? Or just results in any way? Because you can easily make a web search workflow with the keyword "daystoday" and a web search that opens Google with "how many days since {query}".

That way you can enter your date in any format, as Google accepts "20200103", "3rd Jan 2020", "last Friday", or any particular event like "Christmas", etc.

In fact, you could duplicate that set of objects and create another one looking ahead "how many days until..."

You can grab the workflow here:

Vero got a reaction from dfay in Search and open iCloud Drive application folders
I would trust @dfay's observations as much as my own, as he's a long time community member and very astute Alfred user

If all you're trying to do is return the folder (app library) in search results, you could create a tiny workflow with a keyword connected to that folder, as I did in the "keywords as nicknames" header in this post:

Vero got a reaction from timlawson in Using Alfred with Evernote 10
@timlawson Evernote 10 is an Electron app (non-native app) so its data isn't searchable. I've spoken to Evernote on a few occasions and it seems highly unlikely they'll provide support for its data to be accessible.

If you'd like to use the wonderful Evernote workflow, you can re-install Evernote 7 from their legacy page.

Vero reacted to deanishe in 'Google' or 'Search' keywords always crashes Google Chrome
Right, I understand your confusion. Finder lies a lot about what files are, where they are and what they're called (e.g. viewing /Applications in Finder shows the merged contents of /Applications and /System/Applications). It's difficult for other apps like Alfred to keep up with the lies

Vero got a reaction from Chris Messina in Secure Text Entry locked
@SJ2K @Alfred User As explained above by @deanishe, when this occurs, it's down to another app, plugin, or macOS feature locking secure input - and potentially not correctly releasing it when it's done.

A few people make reference to Chrome earlier in this thread, and certainly some Chrome plugins (off the top of my head, I know LastPass was an issue at the time) don't correctly release secure input when it's done.

Alfred doesn't interfere with the macOS secure input feature and, needless to say, cannot "cancel" or remove another app's secure input, as this would defeat the purpose of that feature.

Based on our daily use of Catalina on numerous Macs and generous testing of Big Sur so far, we haven't come across this issue; Snippets are life for me, I don't go an hour without using them, so you can trust we're testing this very thoroughly

I'd take a look at what non-native apps, plugins and helpers you have running on your Mac. Then create a brand new user account temporarily, and ensure that none of these apps or background tools are running there. What behaviour do you see on that second account?

It is difficult to troubleshoot when "loginwindow" is all macOS reports, and much easier when there's an obvious culprit like in the example above where macOS reports that iTerm 2 has secure input, but with the steps above, you should be able to work out what's the cause of your recurring secure input issue.

Alfred is created and maintained by only Andrew and I; It's been an exciting time since Alfred 3 was released, but relentless with no days off. Our plan is to carry on improving documentation, create more tutorials and guides, etc but we're currently mainly dealing with the huge influx of users who are new to Alfred or upgrading from Alfred 2 and have questions.

In the meantime, please do take a look at the documentation linked by Frozen_X

Let me know if there's anything in particular you think is missing, as I'm always looking to make our documentation better and more helpful!

Vero got a reaction from Jordi in Trigger Toggle Play in TuneIn desktop app
@Jordi To make things easier for others to help you out, here are a few suggestions of what you should include in a post calling out for help:
The link to the app/site you're referring to (there are often more than one by the same name) and the exact version if you're referring to an app. Your workflow-in-progress to show what you've achieved so far (and so someone else can build upon what you've done rather than have to start from scratch) If you've taken the time to investigate whether the app has API documentation, links to anything relevant you can provide Any other information about what you've tried, what works and doesn't, etc... Moderators are giving their time to help the community, so the more information you provide, the more likely someone will be able to untangle what's missing and be able to help

In May 2020, a friend saw me using spotlight and claimed "I'm going to pull you out of stone age". And she told me to get Alfred. I had been using it as "just another spotlight" since then.

Beginning of November, I got curious "what is this powerpack thing?".
Searched online, found packal, and this forum, downloaded a bunch of workflows.
It hit me so hard!! "HOLY SHIT! ALFRED IS SO POWERFUL!!"
    "It's not an app, it's a platform!" 🤩💕
I was up all night for a couple of days building stupid workflows and playing around.
In a day or two, I became a mega supporter.

@mattbovett You can access your snippets in two ways where they can easily be edited:
Use the Snippets Viewer (or access your snippets via the Clipboard Viewer, which is how I tend to do it) and Cmd + S there to edit the snippet Use the internal search using the question mark prefix in Alfred's search box, e.g. ?matt (if your snippet keyword was "matt") and hit return to open the Snippets prefs for that snippet Cheers,
