@senornestor Great workflow. Great roadmap. Time to ditch my homemade SS64 Alfred web search
-
@Jacek Thanks a lot! You are right. Apparently, spaces after semicolons were the problem. Github documentation should mention spaces prevent the workflow to work correctly.

@Shawn Thanks for your answer. I do not really understand how external workflows work. Even after reading the knowledge base. How can I do it? I succeded in displaying the large type when the workflow started. Not when it is done.

Great workflow. Thanks for sharing! Unable to make the list selection work. My message always goes to the first list of the board.

Web searches are very useful. For example, I've set web searches for iconfinder and iconarchive. When I do not find the result I want on one I search on the other one. It means I have to retype a keyword + the query. For example: I type "sico {query}" when I want to search on iconfinder.com. I can already search Spotlight / the default fallback via a modifying key but I would like to copy the {query} to the clipboard via a modifying key.

@CarlosNZ Thank you very much for your answer. I was blind and now I see In growl, I can set the actions I want but can't set the display to "Bezel" ( Bezel is a "Large type" like notification) as I only can modify actions. I just want to display via a large type notification that the timer named "XYZ" is over. Via Growl or Apple built-in notifications it doesn't really matter. Any idea how I could do it ?

Just wanted an update about this feature. Can you confirm if this feature is not yet developped? Just to make sure I am not so stupid I can't make the workflow work Thank you.

Text Tools (append, prepend, create, search)
politicus replied to lankybutmacho's topic in Share your Workflows
An awesome workflow ! Thanks for sharing ! About the sf command (grep) It is a little bit confusing to read "Search Text files in Dropbox" while the default folder is set to the Downloads folder. -> I thought the workflow was not working, or I was too stupid to make it work , as the query I tested didn't return anything. -

Great additions... As always. -
I downloaded the zip file from github. Created a .alfredworkflow file for the tabs workflow. Installed it on Alfred. Typed "tabs" in Alfred search bar and got the following error in the console log: Starting debug for 'Chrome Tabs' [ERROR: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] Code 1: Traceback (most recent call last): File "get_tabs.py", line 3, in <module> from alfred_utils.feedback import Feedback ImportError: No module named alfred_utils.feedback

Search Safari and Chrome Tabs [Updated Feb 8, 2014]
politicus replied to ClintonStrong's topic in Share your Workflows
@etling I have the same problem you mentionned. The only difference is the message I have in my console: [ERROR: alfred.workflow.input.scriptfilter] Code 1: Exited with error code but no message -
Window search, not just app search
politicus replied to nybble's topic in Alfred Feature Suggestions
Clinton Strong created a workflow that lets you search only in Safari and Chrome tabs from Alfred. Unfortunately I can't make it work. (error in Alfred console log). That might be helpful to you. HTH -
@Andrew Thanks for the explanation. Will turn Alfred Remote Server on again
-
Alfred remote server launches automatically when Alfred launches. I do not use Alfred Remote Server everyday + Looks like Alfred Remote Server increases iPhone/iPad battery consumption substantially. So, is there one (hidden?) command (just like the" Quit" command to quit applications) that would let me turn Alfred Remote Server off/on without opening Alfred Preferences?

Awesome workflow. Working like a charm. Can't wait to see the next developments!

Experiencing the "Error number-1700" error too.

OS X selection in Clipboard History
politicus replied to Higashifukai's topic in Workflow Help & Questions
I think the only way you can get exactly what you want (opening the clipboard with the selected text without copying first) is via a feature request. -
OS X selection in Clipboard History
politicus replied to Higashifukai's topic in Workflow Help & Questions
(As far as I know). Well, you can't open the clipboard with a selected text (you have to copy it first): you can't select a text, hit a keyboard shortcut or launch a workflow that would open the Clipboard viewer with the text you selected. I doesn't depend on Alfred. It depends on your mac built-in clipboard. If you want to add something to it you have to copy it. In Alfred, what you can do is open Alfred with the text you selected. You selection is automatically copied to the clipboard. It is a very simple workflow (Triggers > Hotkeys with Action : "Show to Alfred" and Argument "Selection in OS X"). The problem here is the Alfred bar will be launched not the Clipboard viewer. May I ask you why my first solution doesn't fit your need perfectly? Is it because you have to type some text to select the clip? You might be luckier in posting this in the feature request forum. Maybe the solution to your problem is using an expander application (like TextExpander). You select some text, type an abbreviation (you previoulsy defined) and your text is replaced by the translated text. No more clipboard problem -
OS X selection in Clipboard History
politicus replied to Higashifukai's topic in Workflow Help & Questions
Thanks for the detailed explanation. From what I do understand, I'd give you 2 potential solutions: - You can create a database of translations by copying them in the clipboard. When you want to translate, you just have to select (not copy) what you want to translate, open the clipboard, select the translation and hit enter. Just tried it and works very well in Sublime Text and TextEdit. - You can create snippets of the sentences you translate over and over. When you want to translate them, you just have to select the text you want to translate, launch the snippet wiever, select the snippet you want, hit enter. Snippets are NEVER deleted from the clipboard history even if you don't use them. Clipboard entries are atfer 3 months if you do not use them. I hope it does answer your question. -

OS X selection in Clipboard History
politicus replied to Higashifukai's topic in Workflow Help & Questions
What (the selection? / the latest Clipboard item?) and where (in the frontmost application?) do you want to paste? Could you be more precise, please. You can't paste a selection, so you can't pastes "the "selection in OS" text" but you can copy any Clipboard item. HTH. -
The question has been asked in the past (It was a question or a feature request I do not remember very well). The answer is no (as of today).

Hi Greg, You are not supposed to remember all the workflow you installed right away. If learning is your main focus, you can categorize your workflows in small batches ("week 1", "week 2", "week 3", ...) Every week, you focus on learning workflows of a specific category. Using a workflow is the best way to remember it. You can display the keyboard shortcut of every workflow (Workflows -> Gear -> Display Options). HTH
