  1. Aside of all the performance etc., the Problem that i would see here is the overview. Even now i sometimes have issues to find the right file. Like some have first of all long filenames and/or have similar names. Having a couple of things popping up in your default search would make it more like a pain than a gain of features. Like you're not focused at what you wanna see.
  2. Kinda curious what else you use Alfred remote for nowadays? I have been using it just a few days ago for some locking/unlocking at work.
  3. I think the main point here is the fuzzy search. I too miss that feature i must say. I often have snippets of which i know a word or phrases that they expand to but not the Keyword nor the Name. Invoking the snipped search doesn't let me search for the snippet content.
  4. That's actually a feature that I've been missing out on Alfred <.< something i have been looking for the other day...Glad i saw your post
  5. Waking this thread up from the dead I'm still at this issue...I have been using launchbar sometimes, but hate it...the performance is pure....when working with huge Indexed data and always crashes.... I just love Alfred for his performance and overall what you can do with him. To my still persisting issue. I tried to use the locate function that you talked about @deanishe but ran into this issue: Telling me i don't have access even tho i do have...i can browse through everything. However i do have to sign in to get access to the server itself and have just permission to view one folder structure but there all the parent directories. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong? Locate works on my local machine tho. Is there maybe another easy way? Cheers, Frozen
  6. Hello everyone, it would be pretty cool if it would be possible to select multiple Files, Clips or whatever from the Clipboard history and paste it. For instance: I would have copied a few files and wanna paste them. Here is an example: If i could now just press Shift+Arrow down to select multiple items and then just paste them that would be awesome If there is another way then lemme know, but else this would be decent to have. Another addition to that would be the ability to change the Shortcut for adding files to the file buffer. Something like ⌘+C and ⌘+V would make the file Buffer/Navigation even better Cheers, Frozen
  7. Installing it to give it a try Gemini looks like the easy way tho xD That is my issue currently. I still have to set up better rules for Hazel, but overall have been using Hazel pretty late so that i have a lot of files laying around. To make it easy i have just thrown stuff on another external drive...there is even more sitting which i have to sort out. After the process is done, it would be way easier
  8. Good to know the other side too. I'll for now stay away from it, unless someone can give me some good reasons for it I got curious about Gemini 2 as one reason of my space gets filled is probably due to duplicates. I manage a lot of files most with hazel but have a lot that haven't been managed by it and it would take quite some time to do so. Is Gemini actually good or how do you guys work with duplicates? @nikivi are you actually using Noizio quite often? What's the quality of the sounds? I just found this website for such a thing, but am still curious.
  9. Thanks for the replies! I have Hazel and use it for a lot of file management. I have to step it up tho to manage even more with it. I got curious about cleanmymac the other day as i ran out of storage and now saw it again in nikivi's list. After hearing all this i won't get it and rather work on my hazel rules
  10. Good collection and overall nicely shown I actually saw that you use CleanMyMac 3, is that overall good of any use? Never tried any cleaning app on a Mac oO Cheers, Frozen
  11. Hello everyone, I'm using Alfred at work for different paths on the Server. I'm doing so via a List Filter that contains all the Paths and passes them to the Action "Browse Alfred". The Paths look something like this: "/Volumes/pub/fdw/Project/ProjectNumber/ProjectNumberstuff/3_Electric/03_Konstruction/04_Presentations/" What I'd like to do is that i browse that path like this: "/Volumes/pub/fdw/Project/ProjectNumber/ProjectNumberstuff/3_Electric/03_Konstruction/04_Presentations/*1110" I can create the "*1110" or only "1110" which would be enough via another List Filter selection, but Alfred cannot browse that Folder as it doesn't exist in that way. Does anyone have another solution. P.S.: @Andrew It would be really nice if you could add a way to filder the List Filter in Alfred as its hard to find something with a lot of items. Cheers, Frozen
  12. That is exactly what i needed the other day. Awesome! Now i included it into my Workflows Tyvm
  13. oh ok, I didn't know that lol I found that one the other day as I had to test a regex for a keyboard maestro macro But that's cool
  14. This site might help you like it helped me: http://regexr.com/ I use it to test Regex and it has good explanations.
  15. I preview items via "Shift". I use that all the times tho, pretty easy and got really used to it.
  16. Quicklook is only a good option if the files you wanna check are not huge as in layouts etc from stations. To see which file you actually search for you have to navigate through all the files when they have similar names to find the right one instead of seeing the one directly and then navigate quicker. My way of dealing with this is usually that i know some unique phrase to the filename and type "*phrase" so that i get the file i want. However i can't do this when i work with structures i haven't seen before or don't know :/
  17. that in combination with app detection would be sick! haven't at it yet as i won't buy a new mac yet ^^
  18. @Andrewthis update does exactly that what i needed! Awesome Andrew! Thank you very much I just tested it via my vpn connection to the server and the freezing is gone
  19. Hello everyone, when I'm using Alfred to navigate files on a Server that have quite loading times and navigating into large files like layouts, Alfred starts to hang. Like it tries to preview the large Layout and doesn't respond for a couple of seconds until i can keep navigating and it hangs at the next file. This way Alfred becomes unusable for me. is there a way to deactivate the small preview in Alfred? That should fix the issue. Kind regards, Marcel Reuß
  20. Seems like its not possible according to this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5850285?tstart=0 So for now I'm stuck with launchbar uff
  21. The Alfred "windows" are behind the calculator and another search behind that. It could be that this is on Parallels site mmhh its pretty weird however and aside of this i noticed that Alfred "lags" when it tries to preview big layouts at the side. Like the combination together creates the issue. I have a problem with parallels too however as its not performing the best under sierra....Guess this is then on their side. However there is still the lag times of big layouts, either on my mac or on the server doesn't matter. Is there a way to turn the preview in File Browsing off?
  22. Hello everyone, since I am using Alfred to navigate on a server drive at work, I end up with a glitching Alfred when the preview of a file takes longer to work and I call Alfred again. However this only happens when used "above" Parallels, well for now. This could be due to heavier graphic usage I guess. Here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/MwNbu I have pre set paths for the server to open them, as i cannot get spotlight to index them. Basically what i do is call that path and then there is a file. The little preview on the side is loading and I call Alfred again. This doesn't happen always tho. Cheers, Marcel Reuß
  23. here is a workaround: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/541oiq/how_to_get_back_your_hyper_key_in_macos_1012/ found here:https://github.com/tekezo/Seil/issues/68#issuecomment-249129908
  24. Hello everyone, currently I'm bringing my Mac to work and will continue as its a huge pain in the ass to work with windows(idk how everyone can overall). Like productivity especially with Alfred and Keyboard Maestro(which i bought and use heavily cause of you guys) goes beyond anything else. Well i use parallels in coherence mode but that's it and only for office tools. Anyway to the topic. At work we have a Server with a bunch of folders which have strict permissions. I got access there and wanted to index the Folder right away. However i failed miserably. Like i tried things like this here: https://jonathansblog.co.uk/how-to-enable-spotlight-indexing-on-a-network-drive and this here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/24401/spotlight-reports-indexing-and-searching-disabled-in-lion Nothing of this seems to work as i don't have access to everything. I couldn't even make a File Filter as that relies on Spotlight. My current "workaround" is to use Launchbar aside of Alfred, because it can index on its own. Is there any way to force spotlight to index a special folder on a server? Or is there a way to feed Alfred with an index or let it make its own :/ Another workaround that i use in combo with Launchbar is, that i use a "List Filter" with all the main paths that then let me open the paths in the file view of Alfred. But yeah i can't filter the way i would like, as that doesn't provide any subfolder search uff. As I'm typing however I see that snippets still have expanding issues :/ as a "don't" becomes a " don't". Well I hope that someone knows a workaround/fix or idk. Launchbar is a way for the moment but I'm only on the test Version asking me to buy it every view actions lol. Buying it just for this meh....<.< >.> Alfred is faster tho and not that heavy resources wise. Cheers everyone, FroZen
