  1. @HRD Syncing of Clipboard History as a whole won't happen for both security/privacy reasons and because of the sheer amount of data that would need to be synced. We recommend saving clips as snippets if you need them to be synced between your Macs. When the Clipboard History Viewer is showing, press Cmd + S to save a clip as a snippet quickly. Cheers, Vero
  2. @stutes We don't recommend Google Drive or iCloud to sync your preferences; Neither of these services are sufficiently reliable. They sync preferences either too slowly or not at all, and are often unable to resolve file conflicts (e.g. if you're syncing from two Macs which have different preferences). If you either set your preferences to be stored locally, or synced via Dropbox, disable and re-enable Clipboard History and see if this resolves the issue for you. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  3. @clancularius Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins (Andrew and I) and allows us to confirm your Powerpack user status. Cheers, Vero
  4. Hi @mbigras - Take a look at this blog post, in particular the "lag" header. It's likely that you just have a high window blur theme, and tweaking your theme will resolve the issue for you https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/alfred-3-5-ready-for-high-sierra/ Cheers, Vero
  5. @knhn If you simply want to add a keyword to pop up your Volume in Finder, create a workflow with a keyword object (set your keyword, choose "No argument") connected to a Launch Apps/Files into which you drag your Little Big volume. You'll then be able to type the keyword and press return to pop up a Finder window opening to your volume.
  6. @Harry36 Welcome to the forum. Could you please launch Console.app and email a few of the crash logs your Mac will have kept from this to our info@ address? This will allow us to take a look at this in more details, as we've not heard of any crashes of this type.
  7. @2urn Sorry to hear about your drive issues! If you were backing up to Dropbox and Time Machine, you should be able to go to your sync location in your backed up files and find Alfred.alfredpreferences. Quit Alfred, copy this entire file (it's a package) from your Time Machine backup to your "current" Mac files and pop it in the same location. Restart Alfred and check that the sync location is correctly set in Advanced > Sync, and you'll be sorted. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  8. @bocaboy Glad to hear that's all resolved, and that it was this simple. I'll now move this ticket to closed. Cheers, Vero
  9. @bocaboy Could you please launch the Dictionary application on your Mac and take a look at which dictionaries are visible in there? It may be that the Dictionary was deleted or corrupted, so your Mac is unable to return results. I believe we've had a couple of users who reported a few years ago that Dictionary reported "No dictionaries installed". Next, launch Alfred's preferences to Features > Dictionary and make sure Language is left on "Default", so that it's not looking for a specific dictionary that may not be available. Cheers, Vero
  10. @knhn If you only search the external drive occasionally, you may benefit from creating a File Filter for it, rather than include it in your default results. First, it would allow your default search to be more focused and therefore faster, as it won't need to wait for results from an external drive that may not be as quick at returning results. Secondly, it would allow you to have a file filter that precisely searches the content of that Thunderbolt volume, so that when you prefix the search with the file filter's keyword, you know that results will be focused on just the content of that drive. Here's how you can create File Filters: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/#workflow If you're finding that results from your primary drive are being returned slowly, you may benefit from rebuilding your Mac's metadata index. See step 4 here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ Cheers, Vero
  11. @7vqteche Looks like @keenan411 found resolution in making sure it was the right version of Evernote directly from their website rather than the (sandboxed) App Store version. Have you checked which version of Evernote you're using? Cheers, Vero
  12. @mac98aop It's long been on our list to update the Workflows lists and share some of the best ones with users, but it's been tricky for Andrew and I to make the time to do this, given we've been working flat out on Alfred and on supporting users. Having said that, we've actually scheduled some time to focus on this soon. I'm using about 30 different workflows fairly regularly, but only about half of these are created by others; All others are made to meet my own daily needs, but aren't useful to anyone else as they're customised File Filters, To-Do List creators, Hotkey-based local actions, scripts to sync things to our own services, workflows to test Alfred features, etc. For @mac98aop, his best bet is to work out which tasks are repetitive, take up more time than they should or could be optimised and look for workflows for that specifically, or create his own. A top 10 for you or for me may be very different to what might be useful for someone else Cheers, Vero
  13. When syncing your preferences, all settings which are sensible to be the same on both Macs (e.g. workflows, snippets, general hotkeys, etc) are synced between them. Certain preferences are not synced so that you can set them differently on each Mac (as you might not want to use the same theme or search scope on a home and work Mac that are configured differently). Workflows will automatically be saved to the Alfred.alfredpreferences package; As Deanishe suggests, you can either right-click a workflow name in the Workflows prefs sidebar, or when editing a workflow object, you can click the squares icon to open the folder in Finder. Cheers, Vero
  14. @mburchett2 If you're not attached to the Notes app, and are simply looking for a text file you can add to, which can be synced between devices using Dropbox, then the Write Text Output object may be sufficient. You can append to the same note stored in a Dropbox folder. If that interests you, take a look at the "Simple To-Do List" built-in example workflow (where I've included three lists, which you can customise to your own needs) and the Write Text Output page: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/outputs/write-file/ Cheers, Vero
  15. @keenan411 Welcome to the forum Could you please take a look at the first post in this thread, and check that you're using the correct version of the workflow for the version of Evernote you're using? Assuming you're using Alfred 3, you should be using Evernote 6.x directly from Evernote.com, not from the Mac App Store, in order for the workflow to be able to find your notes. Cheers, Vero
  16. @Green Ginger Update to 3.5 (or 3.5.1 pre-release) and either use one of the default themes, or set your theme blur to less than 50%. Cheers, Vero
  17. @AJCrowley As Vitor said, there's a High Sierra issue affecting a small proportion of users when using high window blur. Simply lowering the blur resolves the issue. Take a look at the "lag" headline here: https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/alfred-3-5-ready-for-high-sierra/ Also, please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile. Cheers, Vero
  18. @zhangfei You can drag Parallels Toolbox to Spotlight's Privacy tab, then type "reload" into Alfred to ignore Parallels applications. Cheers, Vero
  19. Hi @sid and welcome to the forum! We recommend setting "Require password after sleep" and using the "sleepdisplays" keyword instead, which is much more reliable. You can even disable the "lock" action and rename "sleepdisplays" to it instead, if it helps with your habits Cheers, Vero
  20. @XPLOT1ON Welcome to the forum! Could you please try your snippet in a native simple app like TextEdit? If the cursor behave as expected there, but not in Atom (which I believe we've heard reports was misbehaving sometimes), you may be limited by the third party app's behaviour. You can try slowing down key events in Features > Snippets > click the cog in the top right > Tweaking, which may give a slower app time to complete the actions. Cheers, Vero
  21. @MacGeeky Welcome back to Mac! (and to Alfred!) Thought you might like to know that in Alfred 3, you can add notes to your workflows, so you could annotate the workflow itself to reflect what each script does. Take a look at tip 5 in this post (https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/7-workflow-tips-for-alfred-3/) or look at any of the "Getting Started" built-in workflows for some that already have annotations. Cheers, Vero
  22. @lycopodiopsida @gilgameshskytrooper We'd be happy to help you work out what's not right with your workflows, but there isn't enough clarity in your posts on what you mean by "context-aware workflows". Could you please specify which workflows (with links) you're having issues with? Check that you're using the latest version of each of these workflows. It's possible that 1. there's an incompatibility between High Sierra and the workflow itself, or 2. the upgrade to High Sierra may require that workflows relying on accessibility are set up fresh (Permissions can sometimes be corrupted during an upgrade) but the issues won't be caused by Alfred 3.5. The more details you can provide rather than a sweeping statement that "things don't work", the easier it'll be for us to help you out Cheers, Vero
  23. A quick note for users of this workflow on High Sierra: Two users have reported recently that the Alfred 3 version of this Font Awesome workflow from Github (https://github.com/ruedap/alfred-font-awesome-workflow) on High Sierra specifically causes the "faw" process to run away with high CPU usage (which can be seen in Activity Monitor). I've contacted the workflow creator to ask him to take a look at this issue, and invited him to pop a post here on the forum when he's been able to do so. Until then, users who see this issue can simply disable the workflow and restart Alfred / their Mac, to stop the high CPU usage. Cheers, Vero
  24. @limacohen Welcome to the forum. Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins and allows us to confirm your Powerpack status, as you're asking Powerpack-specific questions. Cheers, Vero
  25. @Davs_Due It would also help if you could specify which version of macOS, Word and Alfred you're using. For example, I'm using an old version of Word (2011 I think) which may not behave the same way as some of the more up-to-date versions. Cheers, Vero
